Abstract
The invention relates to a vector network analyzer firmware program online upgrading device and method, comprising an embedded CPU unit, a DSP unit, an FPGA unit and N onboard FLASH units; the embedded CPU unit sends a firmware program code to the DSP unit through a PCIE bus, the DSP unit receives a new firmware program code sent by the embedded CPU, simultaneously analyzes and decodes a control command sent by the embedded CPU, then sends the new firmware program code and the command code to the FPGA unit through an SRIO bus, the FPGA unit receives the firmware program code, analyzes and decodes the command sent by the DSP unit to obtain an address and control information of an onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded, and then controls an onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded to receive the new firmware program code through a QPI bus. The invention does not need to repeatedly disassemble the case, saves manpower and material resources, ensures the service life of the instrument, reduces the production cost of the vector network analyzer and improves the production efficiency of the vector network analyzer.
Description
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of vector network analyzers, and particularly relates to a device and a method for online upgrading of a firmware program of a vector network analyzer.
Background
Along with the increase of the productivity of radio frequency microwave device manufacturers, the demand of vector network analyzers in the processes of research, development, production and debugging is also increased sharply. The vector network analyzer belongs to a precise and precious scientific instrument, has long service life, and needs to be upgraded in function at all times in the service life, and at the moment, needs to be upgraded in firmware program version of corresponding circuit units in the vector network analyzer.
At present, mainstream manufacturers of vector network analyzers in the market adopt the traditional mode of a computer, a burner and a USB cable which are provided with development software and burning software when upgrading the internal firmware program of the vector network analyzer, the vector network analyzer needs to be disassembled from a case firstly, then a circuit board of the firmware program to be upgraded is connected with the computer by using the burner, and the computer downloads a new firmware program into a memory of the corresponding circuit board through the burner. And after the firmware program is upgraded, assembling and recovering the instrument case. The firmware program upgrading technology has the disadvantages that the case needs to be disassembled, and when the firmware program of the batch instruments is upgraded, the labor cost is high due to frequent disassembly and assembly of the instrument case; meanwhile, the firmware program can be upgraded only by a computer, a burner and a USB cable which are provided with development software and burning software, so that a plurality of matched devices are provided, the burning speed is low, and the cost is high and the efficiency is low.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to solve the problems, the invention provides a device and a method for upgrading a firmware program of a vector network analyzer on line, which do not need to be disassembled, do not need additional development software and corollary equipment, have reasonable design, overcome the defects of the prior art and have good effect.
In order to achieve the purpose, the invention adopts the following technical scheme:
an online upgrading device for a firmware program of a vector network analyzer comprises:
the embedded CPU unit is a host inside the vector network analyzer and has the functions of receiving a new firmware program code copied by an external flash memory and sending the firmware program code to the DSP unit through a PCIE bus;
the DSP unit is used as a controller and has the functions of receiving a new firmware program code sent by the embedded CPU unit, simultaneously analyzing and decoding a control command sent by the host, and then sending the new firmware program code and the host command to the FPGA unit through the SRIO bus after encoding;
n on-board FPGA units, wherein N is an integer greater than 1, the function of the FPGA units is to receive a firmware program, analyze and decode a command sent by the DSP unit to obtain an on-board FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded, and then control the corresponding on-board FLASH unit to receive a new firmware program through a QPI bus;
the embedded CPU unit is connected with the DSP unit through a PCIE bus, the DSP unit is connected with the FPGA unit through an SRIO bus, and the FPGA unit is respectively connected with the N onboard FLASH units through a QPI bus.
Further, the on-board FLASH unit includes a radio frequency circuit board and an intermediate frequency circuit board.
The online upgrading method of the firmware program of the vector network analyzer adopts the online upgrading device of the firmware program of the vector network analyzer, and comprises the following steps:
s1, powering on each unit and initializing;
s2, the embedded CPU unit sends the new firmware program code to the DSP unit;
s3, the DSP unit forwards the new firmware program code to the FPGA unit;
s4, the FPGA unit forwards the new firmware program code to the corresponding onboard FLASH unit to complete firmware program upgrading;
s5, repeating the loop steps S1 to S4, and finishing the firmware program upgrade of other N-1 onboard FLASH units.
Further, step S2 includes the following sub-steps:
s21, copying the new firmware program code to the appointed position of the embedded CPU unit through the USB interface by using the USB flash disk;
s22, running firmware program upgrading software in the embedded CPU unit;
and S23, the firmware program upgrading software sends the new firmware program code and the corresponding control command to the DSP unit through the PCIE bus.
Further, step S3 includes the following sub-steps:
s31: the DSP unit receives a new firmware program code and a control command sent by the embedded CPU unit through the PCIE bus interface;
s32: analyzing and decoding the control command to obtain the address and control information of the onboard FLASH of the program to be upgraded;
and S33, encoding the new firmware program code, the onboard FLASH address and the control information and then sending the encoded information to the FPGA unit through the SRIO bus.
Further, step S4 includes the following sub-steps:
s41, the FPGA unit receives a new firmware program code, an onboard FLASH address and control information sent by the DSP unit through the SRIO bus;
s42, analyzing and decoding the onboard FLASH address and the control information to obtain the address and the control command of the onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded;
and S43, the FPGA unit controls the onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded to receive a new firmware program code through the QPI bus, and the firmware program upgrade is completed.
The invention has the following beneficial technical effects:
(1) the device and the method for updating the firmware program of the vector network analyzer on line do not need to repeatedly disassemble the case, save manpower and material resources and simultaneously ensure the service life of the analyzer.
(2) The firmware program upgrading does not need to be provided with external computers, special burners, USB cables and other matched equipment for installing development software and burning software, and the production cost of the vector network analyzer is reduced.
(3) The high-speed serial buses such as the PCIE bus, the SRIO bus, the QPI bus and the like improve the data transmission rate when a new firmware program is burnt, remarkably shorten the upgrading time and further improve the production efficiency of the vector network analyzer.

as shown in fig. 1, an online upgrading apparatus for a firmware program of a vector network analyzer includes:
the embedded CPU unit is a host inside the vector network analyzer and has the functions of receiving a new firmware program code copied by an external flash memory and sending the firmware program code to the DSP unit through a PCIE bus;
the DSP unit is used as a controller and has the functions of receiving a new firmware program code sent by the embedded CPU unit, simultaneously analyzing and decoding a control command sent by the host, and then sending the new firmware program code and the host command to the FPGA unit through the SRIO bus after encoding;
n on-board FPGA units, wherein N is an integer greater than 1, the function of the FPGA units is to receive a firmware program, analyze and decode a command sent by the DSP unit to obtain an on-board FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded, and then control the corresponding on-board FLASH unit to receive a new firmware program through a QPI bus;
the embedded CPU unit is connected with the DSP unit through a PCIE bus, the DSP unit is connected with the FPGA unit through an SRIO bus, and the FPGA unit is respectively connected with the N onboard FLASH units through a QPI bus.

s31: the DSP unit receives a new firmware program code and a control command sent by the embedded CPU unit through the PCIE bus interface;
s32: analyzing and decoding the control command to obtain the address and control information of the onboard FLASH of the program to be upgraded;
and S33, encoding the new firmware program code, the onboard FLASH address and the control information and then sending the encoded information to the FPGA unit through the SRIO bus.
S4, the FPGA unit forwards the new firmware program code to the corresponding onboard FLASH unit to complete firmware program upgrading;
specifically, step S4 includes the following sub-steps:
s41, the FPGA unit receives a new firmware program code, an onboard FLASH address and control information sent by the DSP unit through the SRIO bus;
s42, analyzing and decoding the onboard FLASH address and the control information to obtain the address and the control command of the onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded;
and S43, the FPGA unit controls the onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded to receive a new firmware program code through the QPI bus, and the firmware program upgrade is completed.
S5, repeating the loop steps S1 to S4, and finishing the firmware program upgrade of other N-1 onboard FLASH units.

1. A vector network analyzer firmware program online upgrading device is characterized by comprising an embedded CPU unit, a DSP unit, an FPGA unit and N onboard FLASH units, wherein N is an integer greater than 1;
the embedded CPU unit is connected with the DSP unit through a PCIE bus, the DSP unit is connected with the FPGA unit through an SRIO bus, and the FPGA unit is respectively connected with the N onboard FLASH units through a QPI bus.
2. The vector network analyzer firmware program online upgrade device of claim 1, wherein the onboard FLASH unit comprises a radio frequency circuit board and an intermediate frequency circuit board.
3. An online upgrading method for a firmware program of a vector network analyzer, which is characterized in that the online upgrading device for the firmware program of the vector network analyzer, as claimed in claim 1, is adopted, and comprises the following steps:
s1, powering on each unit and initializing;
s2, the embedded CPU unit sends the new firmware program code to the DSP unit;
s3, the DSP unit forwards the new firmware program code to the FPGA unit;
s4, the FPGA unit forwards the new firmware program code to the corresponding onboard FLASH unit to complete firmware program upgrading;
s5, repeating the loop steps S1 to S4, and finishing the firmware program upgrade of other N-1 onboard FLASH units.
4. The vector network analyzer firmware program online upgrading method according to claim 3, wherein the step S2 comprises the following sub-steps:
s21, copying the new firmware program code to the appointed position of the embedded CPU unit through the USB interface by using the USB flash disk;
s22, running firmware program upgrading software in the embedded CPU unit;
and S23, the firmware program upgrading software sends the new firmware program code and the corresponding control command to the DSP unit through the PCIE bus.
5. The vector network analyzer firmware program online upgrading method according to claim 3, wherein the step S3 comprises the following sub-steps:
s31: the DSP unit receives a new firmware program code and a control command sent by the embedded CPU unit through the PCIE bus interface;
s32: analyzing and decoding the control command to obtain the address and control information of the onboard FLASH of the program to be upgraded;
and S33, encoding the new firmware program code, the onboard FLASH address and the control information and then sending the encoded information to the FPGA unit through the SRIO bus.
6. The vector network analyzer firmware program online upgrading method according to claim 3, wherein the step S4 comprises the following sub-steps:
s41, the FPGA unit receives a new firmware program code, an onboard FLASH address and control information sent by the DSP unit through the SRIO bus;
s42, analyzing and decoding the onboard FLASH address and the control information to obtain the address and the control command of the onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded;
and S43, the FPGA unit controls the onboard FLASH unit of the firmware program to be upgraded to receive a new firmware program code through the QPI bus, and the firmware program upgrade is completed.
