Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention clearer, the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are some, but not all, embodiments of the present invention. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
It should be noted that the automatic gain control method provided in the embodiments of the present application may be applied to communication systems such as a narrowband and a wideband, and is preferably applicable to an ultra-wideband communication system, and the method is used to solve the problem that the existing self-gain control needs to adjust the signal size for multiple times to make the signal converge, so as to ensure the stability of the transmission signal, and on this basis, it can also ensure that signal synchronization can be completed in a short time in the ultra-wideband communication system.
Specifically, the embodiment of the present invention provides an automatic gain control method and an automatic gain control apparatus, where the implemented automatic gain control method needs to correspond to the automatic gain control apparatus, and the apparatus may include: the device comprises an antenna, an analog front end, an analog-to-digital converter, a gain control unit and control equipment, wherein the antenna is used for receiving signals; the control device is configured to receive parameter information preset by a user and perform parameter adjustment on each hardware/unit according to the parameter information, for example: setting an initial power threshold; the analog front end is used for amplifying the received signal and ensuring the stability of the signal, and the analog front end also comprises a low noise amplifier and a power amplifier; the analog-to-digital converter is used for converting the analog quantity output by the analog front end unit into digital quantity, sending the digital quantity to the gain control unit, and automatically controlling the analog gain so as to achieve signal convergence in a short time, achieve synchronization of the ultra-wideband signal in a time domain and a frequency domain in a short time and ensure stability of signal transmission.
In addition, it should be noted that the received signal is taken as an ultra-wideband signal for explanation, and for understanding, the composition of the ultra-wideband signal needs to be explained.
FIG. 1 shows an ultra-wideband physical layer packet and a synchronization part in IEEE 802.15.4 protocolWherein, the Synchronization part (SHR) is used to perform time domain and frequency domain Synchronization to the received signal, and the specific Synchronization part can be subdivided into a Synchronization domain (SYNC) and a Frame Delimiter domain (SFD), TpreFor presetting the total time width, T, used for the synchronisation portionSYNCFor the time width occupied by the synchronisation field, T, of the total duration of the synchronisation portionSFDThe time width occupied by the frame separator field in the total time length of the synchronous part is adopted, and continuous power detection is required to be carried out on the analog-to-digital conversion output signal in the synchronous field by the baseband, and the expression is as follows:
where N is the number of samples for power estimation, SreAnd SimRespectively the real and imaginary parts of the analog-to-digital converted output signal. And the ultra-wideband system adopts a pulse communication mode according to the protocol specification, and the position, polarity and interval of the synchronous domain pulse are all determined by the predefined preamble and preamble symbol interval.
As shown in fig. 2, is a transmission waveform of one preamble. However, in order to obtain reliable average power estimation, the time length of the baseband for channel estimation needs to be greater than twice the transmission time of a single preamble, so that in order to obtain a stable and fast-convergence ultra-wideband signal, it is necessary that the ultra-wideband signal can complete signal convergence and signal synchronization in a short time during signal transmission. Based on this, an embodiment of the present invention provides an automatic gain control method, as shown in fig. 3, the automatic gain control method specifically includes:
s10, presetting a power threshold of the received signal.
In this embodiment, a power threshold of a received signal needs to be preset before a low noise amplifier in an analog front end outputs a power signal, where the power threshold is used to eliminate saturation in the analog front end, so that the analog front end can output an ideal power, and subsequent gain adjustment and gain iteration times are reduced, thereby achieving rapid convergence of the signal; by setting the power threshold, power signals which do not meet the gain adjustment can be filtered, and signal synchronization of broadband signals can be further completed within a short time.
And S11, judging whether the power of the received signal meets the power threshold or not based on the power threshold.
In this embodiment, the power threshold is an ideal power value preset in the control device by the user, and the power of the received signal needs to be equal to or less than a preset power value.
Optionally, the power threshold may also be an ideal power value table obtained through a priori knowledge, where a plurality of ideal power values are stored in the table, and each ideal power value corresponds to a corresponding scene, so as to complete signal convergence and signal synchronization in a short time, for example: when the power of the received signal exceeds the power threshold, the power value which is in accordance with the power overflow scene can be extracted from the ideal power value table and set as the threshold.
In addition, the power threshold value can be set manually, and can also be automatically adjusted according to the received power value.
And S12, if the power of the received signal meets the power threshold, performing analog gain control according to the power of the received signal.
In this embodiment, the condition that the power of the received signal satisfies the power threshold may be that the received power signal is equal to or less than the power threshold, and when the power of the received signal satisfies the power threshold, the received power signal is an ideal power signal, and no obvious saturation distortion exists in the power signal.
The automatic gain control method provided by the embodiment of the invention obtains the more ideal power of the received signal by presetting the power threshold of the received signal, and then performs analog gain control by using the power of the received signal meeting the power threshold, thereby reducing the times of analog gain adjustment, realizing signal convergence in a shorter time, completing the synchronization of the ultra-wideband signal in a time domain and a frequency domain in a shorter time, and ensuring the stability of signal transmission.
Optionally, as shown in fig. 4, the automatic gain control method according to the embodiment of the present invention, in addition to the steps S10 to S12, further includes:
s13, if the power of the received signal does not satisfy the power threshold, adjusting the analog gain of the analog front end so that the power of the received signal satisfies the power threshold.
In this embodiment, if the output power of the low noise amplifier is greater than the preset threshold, it indicates that the low noise amplifier has saturation distortion, and the obtained initial power estimate is not accurate. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the analog gain of the low noise amplifier through the gain control unit to eliminate distortion, obtain an ideal output power, ensure the accuracy of subsequent power estimation, and obtain a stable signal in a short time. For example: when the power of the received signal overflows the preset threshold value, the whole quantity needs to be increased through the gain control unit, and the preset threshold value is automatically adjusted, so that the power of the received signal can meet the threshold value, signal convergence can be rapidly and accurately completed, and signal output is stabilized.
Optionally, the presetting of the power threshold of the received signal includes: the power threshold of the received signal is set at the output of the low noise amplifier of the analog front end.
The embodiment of the present invention provides an automatic gain control method, specifically, before step S12, the method includes: and performing power amplification on the received signal based on the power of the received signal to obtain a power amplified signal of the received signal. And performing analog gain control by using the power amplification signal of the received signal.
In this embodiment, a power amplifier needs to be arranged in the analog front end to amplify the power of the received signal to ensure the stability of signal transmission, and then the amplified power signal of the received signal is sent to the gain control unit to perform analog gain control, thereby ensuring the accuracy of subsequent automatic gain control.
As shown in fig. 5, step S12 further includes:
and S121, performing analog-to-digital conversion based on the power of the received signal to obtain a power digital quantity of the received signal.
In this embodiment, after the analog front end outputs the power signal, in order to perform precise control and quantization management, it is necessary to convert the analog signal of the output power into a digital signal before sending the output power signal to the gain control unit, wherein an analog-to-digital converter may be used for the analog-to-digital conversion.
And S122, performing baseband power estimation on the obtained power digital quantity of the received signal to obtain a preset analog gain. In this embodiment, the power digital quantity of the received signal is sent to the gain control unit for baseband power estimation, thereby ensuring the accuracy of the subsequent automatic gain control.
And S123, adjusting the analog gain of the analog front end by using the preset analog gain or controlling the baseband power. In this embodiment, after obtaining the power digital quantity of the received signal, the power digital quantity needs to be subjected to baseband power estimation, and then the analog gain is adjusted according to the power estimation result. For example: and obtaining ideal analog gain after power estimation, and configuring the analog front end according to the obtained ideal analog gain, so that the received signal can meet a preset threshold after being subjected to gain, and the stability of signal transmission is ensured.
Optionally, after the automatic gain control of the gain control unit completes the adjustment of the gain of the low noise amplifier, the baseband performs power estimation again. At this point, since the saturation distortion of the analog front end has been removed, the baseband can directly set the gain of the analog front end based on the new power estimate:
RFgain=Padcfull-Pesti-PAPR-Pmargin
wherein RFgain is the analog gain to be set, PadcfullIs the signal power at full scale of the mode switching output, PestiIs a power estimate derived at baseband. The PAPR is the ratio of the peak power to the average power of the received signal. In addition, to eliminate errors in the power estimation, PmarginAdded as redundancy to the analogue gainAnd (4) setting.
Therefore, the embodiment of the present invention obtains an ideal output power by setting the threshold value of the output power of the low noise amplifier in the analog front end, calculates the output power of the low noise amplifier according to the output power estimation of the analog-to-digital conversion, and keeps a certain output power of the low noise amplifier by adjusting the gain of the analog front end. And estimating the receiving power by utilizing a baseband to obtain an ideal gain adjustment value of the analog front end, and then setting the gain of the analog front end according to the gain adjustment value. The method has the advantages that: power estimation is not needed to be carried out at the analog front end, and meanwhile, the cost of the ultra-wideband receiver is reduced; accurate reception power values can be obtained by using baseband power estimation. In addition, compared with the traditional analog power estimation method, the method provided by the invention optimizes the iteration times and can directly set the analog gain at an optimal value. Therefore, for an ultra-wideband system with short transmission time, the method can quickly adjust the gain, so that the base band has sufficient time to perform subsequent received signal synchronization processing. In addition, the method can work normally no matter in a strong power input signal or in a weak power input signal environment, and the size of the gain value can be determined according to the actual output power.
