[ first embodiment ]
(example of System)
Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram for explaining an operation of the broadcasting system according to the first embodiment. The broadcast system according to the first embodiment is a broadcast system that distributes advertisements (addressable CMs) that match the preferences of viewers between broadcast programs and the like. The CM includes not only advertisement advertisements for products, services, and the like but also advertisement of programs and the like.
As shown in fig. 1, the broadcast system according to the first embodiment includes each device of a broadcast station 1000 described later, a receiver 5000 for hybrid broadcast, and a management server 3000 for managing the receiver 5000. The broadcasting system includes external device 6000 of the viewer and voice operation device 7000 of the viewer.
As the viewer external device 6000, for example, a smart phone, a tablet terminal, a mobile phone, a notebook-sized or desktop-sized personal computer device, or the like can be used. The voice operation device 7000 includes a microphone unit and a speaker unit, and remotely operates the receiver 5000 such as a television receiver based on the operation voice collected from the microphone unit. Desired music, feedback voice for operation, and the like are output from the speaker unit.
As the receiver 5000, a television video camera, a set-top box, or the like can be used, for example. The television receiver receives analog or digital terrestrial broadcasting, cable television broadcasting, network broadcasting via a network such as the internet, satellite broadcasting, and the like. Further, a television receiver that can support a broadcast communication cooperation service such as data broadcast or hybrid broadcast may be used. Similarly to a television receiver, the set-top box also receives analog or digital terrestrial broadcasting, cable television broadcasting, network broadcasting via a network such as the internet, satellite broadcasting, and the like. Furthermore, a set-top box that can support a broadcast communication cooperation service such as data broadcasting or hybrid broadcasting may be used.
The management server 3000 acquires a broadcast program viewed by the viewer via the internet via the receiver 5000, acquires a viewing history of the viewer viewing a broadcast program such as an analog or digital terrestrial broadcast, a satellite broadcast, or a cs (communication satellite) broadcast, and analyzes the preference of the viewer. For example, the management server 3000 obtains such information: a viewer who does not belong to the target hierarchy "Y" regularly views a broadcast program such as "a" targeted at the hierarchy "Y". As a result of the analysis, it is found that the viewer is highly likely to be interested in a commercial product such as "m" which is not usually interested in the target hierarchy "Y".
In this case, the management server 3000 determines that the CM segment of the broadcast program "a" is suitable for an addressable CM segment targeted for a specific viewer. The particular viewer is a viewer interested in the item "m". The management server 3000 provides the broadcast station 1000 with the analysis result. The analysis result may be automatically transmitted to the broadcasting station 1000 by the management server 3000, or may be manually transmitted to the broadcasting station 1000.
The advertising company AD acquires the analysis result of the management server 3000 from the broadcasting station 1000. The advertising company AD proposes, as an addressable CM section, whether or not to purchase a CM section of the broadcast program "a" for an advertiser (an agent who requests the advertising company to create an advertisement) MC of the product "m". If the advertiser (the party who commits the advertising company to produce the advertisement) MC agrees to it, a contract is exchanged between the two.
The advertising company AD releases the CM for the product "m" to the broadcasting station 1000 based on the contract, and the broadcasting station 1000 transmits the CM to the CM distribution server 4000 used for distribution of the addressable CM via its own CM management server. The CM of the CM distribution server 4000 is received by the receiver 5000 of the viewer, and is played (played) when the viewer interested in the product "m" views the CM.
The management server 3000 acquires the release success of the addressable CM from the receiver 5000 based on the information of the addressable CM section acquired from the broadcast station 1000, and provides the broadcast station 1000 with the release success. The management server 3000 may have a function of automatically transmitting the release achievement to the broadcast station 1000, or the release achievement may be communicated to the broadcast station 1000 via a human.
The advertisement company AD acquires the delivery result from the management server 3000 via the broadcasting station 1000, and transmits the result to the advertiser (requester who requests the advertisement company to create an advertisement) MC as necessary.
(schematic configuration of System)
Fig. 2 is a diagram showing a system configuration of the broadcast system according to the first embodiment. As shown in fig. 2, the broadcasting station 1000 includes a broadcasting station server 1100 including a CM management server and a security device 1200. The broadcast station 1000 transmits a broadcast signal by radio waves. The broadcast signal may include signals of BS broadcasting, CS broadcasting, terrestrial digital broadcasting, and the like. Also, the broadcasting station 1000 transmits a digital broadcasting signal, Application Information (AIT), control Information related to presentation made in cooperation with broadcasting and communication, and the like.
The application control information includes an application linked to the broadcast program, a command for starting or ending, control information, and the like, and is received by the receiver 5000. As a propagation method of the application control information, for example, a dedicated es (elementary stream) propagation method, a data carousel method in which the same data is repeatedly transmitted, a method in which a control signal file is acquired from a server of a communication network, or the like can be used. The receiver 5000, which will be described later, receives an application from a specified URL in accordance with the application control information, and controls the application boundaries and the like.
The broadcaster 1000 operates a broadcaster server 1100. The broadcasting station server 1100 provides metadata of a program title, a program ID, a program summary, an artist, a broadcast date and time, and other data to the receiver 5000.
The receiver 5000 can receive broadcast signals and various broadcast programs and various service information. The receiver 5000 has a function of realizing a broadcast communication function cooperation service in addition to a function of receiving digital broadcasting as a basic function.
That is, the receiver 5000 has the following functions in addition to the broadband network connection function. The function of executing an application program, the function of presenting a presentation by cooperation between broadcast and communication, and the like are executed based on application control information transmitted by broadcast.
The receiver 5000 can be connected to a recording medium 5001 such as a hdd (hard Disk drive) or ssd (solid State drive) for recording and playing data, and can also be connected to a display 5002 and a speaker system 5003. They are sometimes included in the receiver 5000 in advance.
The display device of the first embodiment is mainly configured by a receiver 5000, a recording medium 5001, a display 5002, and a speaker system 5003.
The management server 3000 manages the receiver 5000, acquires a viewing history from the receiver 5000, and analyzes the viewing history. As described above, the management server 3000 can automatically transmit the analysis result of the viewing history to the broadcasting station 1000.
In addition, the management server 3000 acquires information of addressable CM sections from the broadcast station 1000. The information includes, for example, a broadcast program to which an addressable CM section is set, a time period of the addressable CM section, and the like. The management server 3000 acquires the release effect generated by the receiver 5000 of the addressable CM based on the information of the addressable CM section. As described above, the management server 3000 can automatically transmit the release success to the broadcasting station 1000.
The broadcast system according to the first embodiment is mainly configured by a receiver 5000, a recording medium 5001, a display 5002, a speaker system 5003, and a management server 3000.
An addressable CM delivered to the broadcast station 1000 from the advertising company AD is transmitted from a CM management server (see fig. 1) owned by the broadcast station 1000 to the CM distribution server 4000. The receiver 5000 receives a specified addressable CM among addressable CMs held by the CM issuing server 4000.
(flow and information in propagation path)
Fig. 3 is a diagram showing a broadcast wave propagation path 2100 and a hybrid broadcast propagation path 2200 through which a broadcast signal is transmitted in the broadcast system according to the first embodiment. As shown in fig. 3, video streams, audio streams, application control information, and service information are propagated through each propagation path.
(example of the receiver)
Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example of the configuration of the receiver 5000 according to the first embodiment. As shown in fig. 4, the receiver 5000 includes a communication content processing unit 5100 and a broadcast content processing unit 5300. The communication content processor 5100 has a hybrid broadcast standard for connection to a network. The connection destination of the network is, for example, the management server 3000 described above. The broadcast content processing unit 5300 receives the broadcast wave.
The communication content processor 5100 includes an IP communication interface 5101. The stream taken in via the IP communication interface 5101 is received by the stream reception processor 5102, and the demodulated stream is restored to the original arrangement state by the demultiplexer 5303. The DRAM processor 5104 is connected to the demultiplexer 5303, and the DRAM processor 5104 operates the program, thereby enabling, for example, automatic downloading.
The video stream separated by the demultiplexer 5303 is decoded by a video decoder 5311, the audio stream is decoded by an audio decoder 5312, and the subtitle stream is decoded by a subtitle decoder 5313.
The decoded video data and caption data are synthesized by the synthesizer 5501 and input to the display 5002. The decoded voice data is input to the speaker portion 5003.
The broadcast content processing unit 5300 includes a broadcast tuner 5301. The stream received and demodulated by the broadcast tuner 5301 is input to the descrambler 5302. In descrambler 5302, the input stream is descrambled by a key from cas (conditional Access system) module 5304. The stream descrambled by the descrambler 5302 is input to the demultiplexer 5303.
The demultiplexer 5303 outputs the data for data broadcasting to the data broadcast reception processing unit 5330. The decoded voice data is input to the speaker system 5003.
The data broadcast signal separated by the demultiplexer 5303 is received by the data broadcast reception processing unit 5330 and input to the data broadcast engine 5315. A display signal transmitted by data broadcasting is input to the synthesizer 5501 and displayed on the display 5502.
The overall operation of the receiver 5000 is controlled by the integrated controller 5200. The integrated controller 5200 includes an application control unit 5201 and a security management unit 5202. The application control unit 5201 controls each module (block) of the receiver 5000 based on various information and control information included in the application control information. The application control unit 5201 determines, for example, display/non-display of the CM and auxiliary information such as a message associated with the CM, to the application.
The security management unit 5202 manages application programs and implements security functions. For example, the security management unit 5202 has an application authentication function, and handles an authenticated application as a management application. The security management unit 5202 includes an access control function, a presentation function, an execution function, a revocation function for managing applications other than the broadcast, and the like. Here, the control of the security management unit 5202 is described separately from the control of the application control unit 5201, but may be controlled as one management unit without being separated.
The access control function can refer to broadcast resources such as video, audio, and metadata SI information, and receiver resources such as video and audio output and a network interface of the receiver 5000 for an application that is permitted to be used. Also, receiver apis (application Programming interfaces) that can be accessed are restricted according to the security level of the application.
The presentation control function determines, based on the intention of the broadcasting company, whether or not to overlay the broadcast moving image, a display area and size, a display/non-display method of the application, and the like. In an emergency such as a disaster report, for example, the application or the related display thereof is temporarily set to a non-display state, and the entire screen display of the broadcast program can be controlled.
The revocation function is a function of invalidating a problematic application program that impairs the interests of a broadcasting provider or a user.
The application engine 5130 forms an environment for executing an application. As the application engine 5130, for example, an HTML5(Hypertext Markup Language 5) browser having an extended API for an application in a mixed broadcast can be used.
The terminal cooperation control unit 5500 is an interface for performing cooperation with an external cooperation terminal.
Here, an addressable CM acquired from the CM distribution server 4000 is stored in the recording medium 5001. The integrated controller 5200 downloads, to the recording medium 5001, the addressable CMs that the viewer of the receiver 5000 seems to like, among the addressable CMs held by the CM distribution server 4000. The addressable CMs held by the CM distribution server 4000 are divided into a plurality of groups with tags indicating "car", "sports", "travel", and the like, which indicate the preference of the viewer. The integrated controller 5200 downloads an addressable CM group to which a label matching the viewer's taste is assigned, based on the information related to the viewer's taste of the receiver 5000 thereof acquired from the management server 3000.
The addressable CM downloaded to the recording medium 5001 is temporarily stored in the DRAM processor 5104. Then, the addressable CM is separated by the demultiplexer 5303, the video stream is decoded by the video decoder 5311, the voice stream is decoded by the voice decoder 5312, and the subtitle stream is decoded by the subtitle decoder 5313.
The decoded video data and caption data are synthesized by the synthesizer 5501 and input to the display 5002. The decoded voice data is input to the speaker system 5003 via the synthesizer 5502. Thus, the addressable CM is output through the display 5002 and the speaker system 5003.
The application control unit 5201 controls each module of the receiver 5000 based on application control information relating to the playback of addressable CMs, and plays back addressable CMs in predetermined addressable CM segments.
(example of the configuration of the management Server)
Fig. 5 is a hardware configuration diagram of the management server 3000. As shown in fig. 5, the management server 3000 includes a cpu (central Processing unit)3051, a rom (read Only memory)3052, a ram (random Access memory)3053, a storage unit 3054, and a communication unit 3055.
The storage unit 3054 is a storage unit such as an HDD or an SSD. The storage unit 3054 stores a preference analysis program described later. The CPU3051 operates based on the preference analysis program to analyze the preference of the viewer and notify the CM distribution server 4000 of the analysis result (preference analysis information). This makes it possible to distribute an addressable CM that matches the preference of the viewer to the receiver 5000 of the viewer, insert the CM between programs, and play the CM.
(function of management Server)
Fig. 6 is a functional block diagram of each function realized by the CPU3051 of the management server 3000 executing the preference analysis program. The CPU3051 executes the preference analysis program to realize the functions of the storage control unit 3100, the analysis unit 3200, the communication control unit 3300, and the voice recognition unit 3400 as shown in fig. 6.
The storage unit 3100 stores a viewing history in the receiver 5000 managed by the management server 3000. The viewing history includes, for example, a program title, a program ID, a program outline, an artist, a broadcast date and time, and other data.
The storage control unit 3100 also performs storage/playback control of the viewing history, the playback history, the recording setting, the viewing reservation setting, and the like received from the receiver 5000 with respect to the storage unit 3054. The storage control unit 3100 then performs storage/playback control of the preference information acquired from the viewer's external device 6000 on the storage unit 3054.
In the broadcast system according to the embodiment, the voice operation device 7000 can perform voice operation on the receiver 5000 and the like. The management server 3000 recognizes the operation voice acquired from the voice operation device 7000 by the voice recognition unit 3400 and transmits the operation voice to the receiver 5000, thereby enabling the voice operation of the receiver 5000. The storage control unit 3100 performs storage/playback control of the operation history information corresponding to the operation voice for the receiver 5000 and the like acquired from the voice operation device 7000 to the storage unit 3054.
The analysis unit 3200 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on the viewing history and attribute information of the viewer of the receiver 5000 managed by the management server 3000. The attribute information of the viewer is information obtained from the viewer through a questionnaire survey or the like in advance (for example, at the time of purchase of the receiver or the like). The attribute information of the viewer includes, for example, sex information, age group information, and the like of the constituent persons of the viewer's family.
By using the above information, for example, the preference of the viewer of the receiver 5000 managed by the management server 3000 is estimated. For example, information such as a preference for cars, a preference for sports, and a preference for traveling can be obtained from the viewing tendency of the viewer.
In addition, for example, in the broadcast program "a" targeted at the target level "Y", when the CM for the product "n" matching the preference of the target level "Y" is played, it is found that the viewer belonging to the target level "X" interested in the product "m" still views the broadcast program "a".
In this case, for example, the analysis unit 3200 may set the CM segment for the product "n" as an addressable CM segment and determine that it is appropriate to provide an addressable CM for the product "m" for the viewer belonging to the target hierarchy "X".
In addition, in the parent layer of a family with children, it is conceivable to set an addressable CM segment in a broadcast program of a time slot in the night where a parent is considered to view, and to provide an addressable CM of a product related to children.
The communication control unit 3300 notifies the broadcast station 1000 of the analysis result generated by the analysis unit 3200, for example. The analysis result is acquired by the advertising company AD via the broadcasting station 1000, and an advertiser (an advertiser who requests the advertising company to create an advertisement) MC of the target product purchases an addressable CM section.
The communication control unit 3300 also notifies the broadcast station 1000 of a delivery success when, for example, the purchased addressable CM segment actually delivers the addressable CM. The above-described delivery results are reported to the advertising company AD or the advertiser (an advertiser who requests the advertising company to create an advertisement) MC via the broadcasting station 1000.
Further, the communication control unit 3300 notifies the receiver 5000 of the preference of the viewer analyzed by the analysis unit 3200. Thus, when the receiver 5000 acquires an addressable CM from the CM distribution server 4000, it is possible to selectively acquire an addressable CM that matches the preference of the viewer.
The communication control unit 3300 transmits a CM list for selecting a desired CM to the external device 6000 and the receiver 5000 of the viewer, which will be described later. The CM list is a list of CM names and the like. The viewer selects a CM to be distributed from the list and specifies the management server 3000. The communication control unit transmits information indicating the CM designated from the viewer and preference analysis information indicating the preference of the viewer, which is analyzed by the analysis unit 3200 based on the CM designated from the viewer, to the CM distribution server 4000.
(hardware configuration of external device)
Fig. 7 is a diagram showing a hardware configuration of the external device 6000. As shown in fig. 7, the external device 6000 includes a CPU6031, a ROM6032, a RAM6033, a timer 6034, a storage portion 6035, a communication portion 6036, a display portion 6037, an operation portion 6038, a speaker portion 6039, and a microphone portion 6040.
The storage 6035 stores a point-to-point application. Based on the direction providing application, CPU6031 notifies management server 3000 of preference information indicating the preference of the viewer, which will be described in detail later. Thus, a CM matching the preference of the viewer is distributed from the management server 3000 via the CM distribution server 4000.
In addition, the storage 6035 stores image data captured by the user or acquired via a network. When the viewer designates a desired image among the images represented by the image data, the viewer's preference is analyzed based on the image designated by the management server 3000, and a CM matching the viewer's preference is distributed from the CM distribution server 4000.
Note that the voice operation apparatus 7000 also has a hardware configuration similar to that shown in fig. 7. In the case of the voice operation apparatus 7000, the operation voice from the viewer is collected by the microphone part 6040 and transmitted to the management server device 3000.
(broadcasting of addressable CM)
Fig. 8 is a timing chart at the time of addressable CM playback of the broadcast system of the first embodiment. In the example of fig. 8, addressable CMs that are consistent with the preferences of the viewer of receiver 5000 have been downloaded to recording medium 5001. Alternatively, in a broadcast program, addressable CMs that match the viewer's preferences may be downloaded to the recording medium 5001 by asynchronous communication or the like.
As shown in fig. 8, in the broadcast system of the first embodiment, when the beginning of a broadcast program starts, a hybrid broadcast application related to the playback of addressable CMs starts. The hybrid broadcast application is started, but is controlled to be in a non-display state.
Specifically, the technical specification of the hybrid broadcasting is standardized as the technical specification of the IPTV forum and the specification of arib (association of Radio Industries and businesses). In the ARIB standard, when receiving a PMT (program Map table) included in a broadcast signal, the receiver 5000 starts a bml (broadcast Markup language) content as a data broadcast content based on a pid (packet id) described by the PMT. In the initial state, application control information is acquired from a server device on the network by a script described in the BML content. After the acquisition, the hybrid broadcast application is started according to the acquired application control information.
The hybrid broadcast application is included in a broadcast signal, and displays a predetermined screen superimposed on a broadcast moving image when receiving an event message EM1 notifying the start of a CM. At this time, in the hybrid broadcast application, the application control unit 5201 controls the display of the graphics from the non-display state to the display state. That is, when the hybrid broadcast application is started, the control is made to be non-display, and when the event message EM1 is received, the hybrid broadcast application screen is displayed in a transparent state. Therefore, the watching of the program is not hindered. In the hybrid broadcast application, such interrupt display and overlay display can be performed under predetermined conditions. The event message EM1 is included in the broadcast signal and transmitted from the broadcast station 1000 before a predetermined time (for example, 1 second to several seconds) from the CM start time.
The mixed broadcast application screen may be displayed not only in a transparent state but also in a translucent state. Even in this case, the main part of the program is not completely hidden and the viewing of the main part of the program is not hindered. In this case, the viewer can display auxiliary information such as a predetermined message or mark on one corner of the screen.
The hybrid broadcast application, upon receiving an event message EM2 contained in the broadcast signal indicating the start of a CM, causes the playback of the downloaded addressable CM to begin. Then, just after the end of the play of an addressable CM, an event message EM3 is received indicating the end of the CM contained in the broadcast signal. The length of the addressable CM is set corresponding to the length of the addressable CM segment, so that the play of the addressable CM ends immediately before the reception of event message EM 3.
(example of display screen of receiver)
Next, fig. 9 shows an example of a display screen displayed on the display 5002 by the receiver 5000. The display screen shown in fig. 9 is displayed prior to the download of the addressable CM to the recording medium 5001 of the receiver 5000.
As shown in fig. 9, when downloading an addressable CM from the CM distribution server 4000 to the recording medium 5001 of the receiver 5000, the integrated controller 5200 displays a message requesting a utilization offer of the recording medium 5001 to the viewer of the receiver 5000. As the message content, not only the use offer but also a message display in which a specific use amount is inquired as "use several GB" may be performed. This can indicate that the viewer cannot use the recording medium 5001 owned by the viewer at will, and can indicate how much capacity of the recording medium 5001 is used. Downloading of addressable CMs is performed at any time when the recording medium 5001 is not in use after receiving a viewer's promise.
Fig. 10 shows an example of a screen displayed on the display 5002 when the receiver 5000 plays back an addressable CM. As shown in fig. 10, when the receiver 5000 receives the event message EM1 indicating that the CM is about to start, the hybrid broadcast application may display a translucent screen SCa containing a message or a mark or the like as auxiliary information indicating that the CM is replaced, superimposed on the broadcast moving image. By being displayed not transparently but semi-transparently, a message or a mark or the like is easily viewed. Thus, the viewer can know the start of the addressable CM and can indicate in advance the situation of a CM (advertisement) that is of interest to the viewer, so that the viewer is more interested in viewing than a normal CM.
Fig. 11 shows another example of a picture displayed on the display 5002 by the receiver 5000 during playback of an addressable CM. As shown in fig. 11, when the receiver 5000 receives the event message EM2 indicating the start of a CM, the hybrid broadcast application arranges a moving picture SCb of an addressable CM in a screen SCa and displays and plays the moving picture SCb. At this time, a message in CM replacement may be displayed on the screen SCa. The moving image SCb of the addressable CM is displayed in, for example, a smaller area than the picture SCa, relative to the picture SCa of the entire picture display. Therefore, the message in the CM replacement is not hidden and continues to be displayed as it is. Thus, even in an addressable CM, it can be indicated to the viewer that it is an addressable CM, enabling the viewer to have an interest.
The moving picture SCb of the addressable CM may be displayed as a whole screen, regardless of the example of fig. 11. In this case, the message in CM replacement may be displayed in the moving picture SCb of the addressable CM or may be hidden. That is, even in a state where the moving picture SCb of the addressable CM is displayed for the entire screen, the message in the CM replacement can be displayed within the frame of the moving picture SCb.
The hybrid broadcast application causes the screen SCa and the moving picture SCb to be non-displayed when the broadcast of the addressable CM is completed, and returns the display of the display 5002 to the original broadcast moving picture screen.
(display processing in receiver)
Fig. 12 is a flowchart showing an example of the procedure of display processing of the addressable CM in the receiver 5000.
As shown in fig. 12, when the PMT included in the broadcast signal is received from the receiver 5000 when the beginning of the broadcast program starts (step S101), the application control unit 5201 activates the hybrid broadcast application and sets the hybrid broadcast application to non-display (step S102). The hybrid broadcast application waits for the reception of an event message EM1 announcing the start of the CM (step S103: no).
When the receiver 5000 receives the event message EM1 (step S103: yes), the hybrid broadcast application displays an application screen based on the hybrid broadcast application. That is, the non-display state is changed to the display state (step S104). The application screen may be a transparent screen or a screen SCa containing a message indicating that the CM is replaced. And the hybrid broadcast application waits for the reception of the event message EM2 indicating the start of the CM (step S105: no).
When the receiver 5000 receives the event message EM2 (step S105: yes), the hybrid broadcast application displays the moving picture SCb of the addressable CM superimposed on the transparent picture or picture SCa, and starts playing the addressable CM (step S106). After the prescribed time has elapsed, the hybrid broadcast application ends the playback of the addressable CM (step S107). The hybrid broadcast application causes the (screen SCa and) moving image SCb to be non-displayed. That is, the display state is changed to the non-display state (step S108). The hybrid broadcast application waits for the reception of the event message EM3 indicating the end of the CM (step S109: no).
When the receiver 5000 receives the event message EM3 (step S109: yes), the display process of the addressable CM in the receiver 5000 ends.
In recent years, a viewing history of contents via a television or the internet is collected, and analysis of preference, purchasing behavior, and the like of a viewer is performed. Such analysis results can be effectively utilized in addressable CM distribution to specific viewers. However, CM segments within a typical broadcast program are difficult to display in place of addressable CMs.
In the receiver 5000 of the broadcast system according to the first embodiment, the hybrid broadcast application appropriately displays a screen related to the addressable CM in accordance with the event messages EM1 to EM3 and the like included in the broadcast signal. Thus, addressable CMs can be displayed instead of broadcast-based CMs.
In the receiver 5000, the hybrid broadcast application is activated in advance by the application control unit 5201 and is controlled to be non-display. By pre-starting, playback of the addressable CM can be started at an earlier timing corresponding to the start of the addressable CM segment.
In the receiver 5000, when switching from broadcasting a moving image, the hybrid broadcasting application displays a screen SCa containing a message indicating, for example, replacement of the CM. This makes it possible to fill in a time lag occurring when switching from a broadcast moving picture to another, and to smoothly change a picture to a moving picture of an addressable CM without giving a viewer a sense of incongruity.
(modification of the first embodiment)
Fig. 13 to 15 show an example of a screen displayed on a display at the time of playback of an addressable CM by a receiver of a broadcast system which is a modification of the first embodiment.
As shown in fig. 13, in the receiver according to the modified example, the hybrid broadcast application may display auxiliary information such as a mark MKa indicating the target viewer of the addressable CM in the broadcast, in a blank of the screen SCc displayed superimposed on the broadcast moving image, that is, in the outer frame of the moving image SCb of the addressable CM. Thus, with the example of FIG. 13, the viewer is able to immediately find a "car-related" CM.
As shown in fig. 14, in the receiver of the modification, the hybrid broadcast application may display information such as a mark MKb indicating the target viewer of the addressable CM to be played next, in addition to or instead of the information such as the mark MKa of the addressable CM currently being played, in a blank space of the screen SCd displayed superimposed on the broadcast moving image. The information indicating the addressable CM to be played next may be a thumbnail image or the like. Thus, in the example of fig. 14, the viewer can know in advance that the "baseball-related" CM is displayed next from the "car-related" CM (advance notice of the CM), and therefore the viewer can be more interested.
As shown in fig. 15, in the receiver according to the modification, the hybrid broadcast application program can change the color, pattern, texture, and the like of the pictures SCe and SCf displayed in superimposition with the broadcast moving image, in accordance with the age group of the target viewer of the addressable CM. The picture of fig. 15(a) is an example of a picture SCe of an addressable CM for an elderly person. The picture in fig. 15(b) is an example of a picture SCf of an addressable CM for young people. Since the easy-to-observe degree is changed by the color of the screen or the like according to the age of the viewer, the addressable CM can be observed more easily by changing the screen. Further, when the screen is changed, the viewer can select the screen SCe or SCf.
[ second embodiment ]
Next, a description will be given of a broadcasting system of the second embodiment. The broadcast system of the second embodiment is an example when the broadcast signal does not contain an event message. The broadcast system according to the second embodiment also has the same configuration as the broadcast system according to the first embodiment. In the following description, referring to fig. 4 and the like, the same reference numerals are given to the components corresponding to the components of the first embodiment.
(broadcasting of addressable CM)
Fig. 16 is a timing chart at the time of addressable CM playback of the system of the second embodiment. In the example of fig. 16, the management server 3000 notifies the receiver 5000 of the predetermined time of the addressable CM segment in the predetermined broadcast program notified from the broadcast station 1000 in advance. The hybrid broadcast application of the receiver 5000 performs the alternate display of the addressable CM based on the predetermined timing notified from the management server 3000.
As shown in fig. 16, when the receiver 5000 receives a PMT included in a broadcast signal when the beginning of a broadcast program starts, the application control unit 5201 starts a hybrid broadcast application. In this case, the hybrid broadcast application is not displayed as in the embodiment.
At time T1, which is a predetermined time at which the start of announcement of a CM in a broadcast program is started, the hybrid broadcast application displays a translucent screen, for example, a transparent screen or auxiliary information including a message indicating replacement of the CM, for example, so as to overlap with the broadcast moving image.
When the CM start time, that is, time T2, is reached, the hybrid broadcast application starts playing the downloaded addressable CM. Immediately after the playback of the addressable CM is finished, the CM end time is time T3.
(display processing in receiver)
Fig. 17 is a flowchart showing an example of the procedure of display processing of addressable CMs in the receiver 5000 of the broadcast system according to the second embodiment.
In the flowchart of fig. 17, the receiver 5000 acquires information on a predetermined time associated with an addressable CM segment from the management server 3000 in advance (step S210).
When the receiver 5000 receives the PMT included in the broadcast signal when the beginning of the broadcast program starts (step S211), the application control unit 5201 activates the hybrid broadcast application and sets the hybrid broadcast application to non-display (step S212). The hybrid broadcast application waits for time T1 at which the announcement CM starts (step S213: no).
At time T1 (yes in step S213), the hybrid broadcast application displays a transparent screen or a screen SCa including a message indicating replacement of the CM (step S214). Then, the hybrid broadcast application waits for the CM start time, i.e., time T2 (step S215: no).
At time T2 (yes in step S215), the hybrid broadcast application arranges a moving picture SCb for displaying an addressable CM in the transparent screen or the screen SCa, and starts playing the addressable CM (step S216). After the prescribed time has elapsed, the hybrid broadcast application ends the playback of the addressable CM (step S217). Then, the broadcast mixing application renders the (screen SCa and) moving image SCb non-display (step S218). The hybrid broadcast application waits for the CM end time, i.e., time T3 (step S109: no).
When the time T3 comes (yes in step S219), the display process of the addressable CM in the receiver 5000 is ended.
In the receiver 5000 of the second embodiment, information of a predetermined time associated with an addressable CM segment is acquired from the management server 3000 in advance. The hybrid broadcast application appropriately displays a screen related to the addressable CM at times T1 to T3. Thus, even in the case where the broadcast signal does not contain an event message, the addressable CM can be displayed and played instead of the broadcast-based CM.
[ third embodiment ]
Next, a description will be given of a broadcasting system of the third embodiment. In the broadcast system according to the third embodiment, the management server 3000 collects information that is not related to television viewing via an external device 6000 such as a mobile terminal or a Personal Computer (PC) that is physically different from the receiver 5000. The management server 3000 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on the information that is collected from the external device and is not related to television viewing. In other words, the viewer notifies the management server 3000 of his or her preference using the external device 6000, and the management server 3000 issues a CM corresponding to the notified preference of the viewer. Thus, the viewer can view the CM in accordance with his or her preference.
Fig. 18 is a diagram showing an outline of the broadcasting system according to the third embodiment. As shown in fig. 18, in the broadcast system according to the third embodiment, the viewer transmits preference information indicating his or her preference to the management server 3000 using the external device 6000. As the external device 6000, for example, a mobile terminal 6000a, a personal computer device 6000b, or the like can be used.
The analysis unit 3200 of the management server 3000 shown in fig. 6 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on preference information provided from the viewer. The communication control unit 3300 controls the communication unit 3055 to transmit preference analysis information indicating the preference of the viewer to the CM distribution server 4000. Thus, addressable CMs that match the preferences of the viewer are broadcast at receiver 5000 and can be viewed by the viewer.
Specifically, the CPU6031 of the external apparatus 6000 shown in fig. 7 realizes each function shown in fig. 19 by executing the direction-providing application stored in the storage part 6035. That is, the CPU6031 realizes the list acquisition section 6050, the operation detection section 6060, the display control section 6070, and the communication control section 6080 by executing the direction-providing application.
In the case of the third embodiment, the communication control unit 3300 of the management server 3000 transmits the CM list to the external device 6000 of the viewer in advance. The CM list is a list of information items such as names of artists, program categories, product categories, atmospheres of CMs, titles of songs used in CMs, and singers. The communication control part 6080 and the list acquisition part 6050 acquire the CM list transmitted from the management server 3000. The display control unit 6070 displays the acquired CM list on the display unit 6037.
Fig. 20(a) is a diagram showing an example of a CM list displayed on the display portion 6037 of the external device 6000. The viewer performs an operation of designating an artist name, a program genre, and the like according to his or her preference from the CM list displayed on the external device 6000 via the operation unit 6038. When the designating operation is detected, the display control section 6070 performs display control of a message asking whether or not to view a CM which the designated artist has played, a CM of the designated genre, or the like on the display section 6037. Fig. 20(a) is an example of an artist specifying an artist name such as "CC". Therefore, as shown in fig. 20(b), the display control part 6070 will "will see CM that CC is showing? A message asking whether or not to view the television program, such as yes/no, is displayed on the display portion 6037.
When the viewer selects viewing of the message (yes operation), the communication control unit 6080 transmits information indicating the name of the artist, the genre of the program, and the like designated by the viewer to the management server 3000 as preference information.
Thus, the management server 3000 notifies the viewer's preference to the CM distribution server 4000, and the CM distribution server 4000 distributes addressable CMs that match the viewer's preference to the viewer's receiver 5000, and broadcasts the CMs between programs and the like.
That is, in the case of the third embodiment, the preference of the viewer is not estimated on the management server 3000 side, but the viewer designates the preference of the viewer himself. Therefore, the CM distribution server 4000 can select an addressable CM that matches the preference of the viewer and transmit the CM to the receiver 5000 of the viewer. Therefore, it is possible to provide advertisements according to the preference of the viewer, and to obtain the same effects as those of the above-described embodiments.
[ fourth embodiment ]
Next, a description will be given of a broadcasting system of a fourth embodiment. In the case of the broadcasting system of the fourth embodiment, the viewer designates an image stored in the external device 6000 or a sample image acquired from the management server 3000. Thus, the preference of the viewer is estimated based on the image specified by the viewer, and an addressable CM corresponding to the estimated preference is provided.
That is, in the case of the broadcast system of the fourth embodiment, the CPU6031 of the external apparatus 6000 shown in fig. 7 realizes the image detection section 6090 together with the above-described list acquisition section 6050 to communication control section 6080 as shown in fig. 21 by executing the direction-providing application stored in the storage section 6035.
The image detection section 6090 detects image data stored in the storage section 6035 of the external apparatus 6000. The display control unit 6070 displays the images of the detected image data in a list on the display unit 6037. Alternatively, the communication control unit 3300 of the management server 3000 transmits the list of sample images to the external device 6000. The list acquisition unit 6050 and the communication control unit 6080 of the external device 6000 acquire a list of sample images and display the list on the display unit 6037.
Fig. 22 is a diagram showing images displayed in a list on the display portion 6037 of the external device 6000. When the viewer displays the images in a list on the display portion 6037, the viewer performs a selection operation on the images according to his or her preference via the operation portion 6038 as shown in fig. 22 (a). The example of fig. 22(a) is an example of an image in which a mountain is selected.
When such an operation of selecting an image is detected, the display control section 6070 performs display control on the display section 6037 with a message inquiring whether or not to view the CM including the selected image. Fig. 22(a) shows an example of an image in which a mountain is selected. Therefore, as shown in fig. 22(b), the display control section 6070 displays an image of the selected mountain, and will, for example, "view CM containing such an image? A message asking whether or not to view the television program, such as yes/no, is displayed on the display portion 6037.
When the viewer selects viewing with respect to the message (operation of selecting yes), the communication control section 6080 transmits the image data of the image selected by the viewer to the management server 3000 as preference information.
Thus, image data of an image corresponding to the preference of the viewer is transmitted from the management server 3000 to the CM distribution server 4000, and addressable CMs including the image selected by the viewer are distributed from the CM distribution server 4000 to the receiver 5000 of the viewer, and are played between programs and the like.
In the case of the fourth embodiment, the management server 3000 does not estimate the preference of the viewer, but the viewer specifies an image that matches the preference of the viewer selected by the viewer. Therefore, the CM distribution server 4000 can select an addressable CM including an image according to the preference of the viewer and transmit the addressable CM to the receiver 5000 of the viewer. Therefore, it is possible to provide advertisements according to the preference of the viewer, and to obtain the same effects as those of the above-described embodiments.
In the third embodiment, the viewer selects and designates an advertisement that matches his/her preference via the external device 6000, and in the fourth embodiment, the viewer selects and designates an image that matches his/her preference via the external device 6000. The viewer may specify, for example, location information of a travel location to the management server 3000 or product information (purchase information) of a product purchased by communication sales to the management server 3000 via the external device 6000. In this case, the management server 3000 acquires the position information or the product information (purchase information) as preference information, analyzes the preference information, and transmits the analysis result as preference analysis information to the CM distribution server 4000. Thus, as described above, the CM distribution server 4000 distributes, to the receiver 5000 of the viewer, a CM that matches the preference of the viewer, which is indicated by the product information (purchase information) of the product purchased at the travel location or through communication sale. Thus, the viewer is able to view addressable CMs corresponding to his or her preferences.
[ fifth embodiment ]
Next, a description will be given of a broadcasting system of the fifth embodiment. The broadcast system of the fifth embodiment is an example in which the viewer estimates the preference of the viewer based on the voice operation history of the receiver 5000 using the voice operation apparatus 7000, and provides an addressable CM corresponding to the estimated preference.
Fig. 23 is a diagram showing an outline of the broadcast system according to the fifth embodiment. As shown in fig. 23, in the case of the broadcasting system according to the fifth embodiment, when a viewer makes a voice operation to the voice operating device 7000 to instruct the receiver 5000 to operate, the voice is collected by the microphone portion 6040 shown in fig. 7. The collected voice is transmitted to the management server 3000 as voice data which is an electric signal.
The management server 3000 recognizes the viewer's voice data by the voice recognition unit 3400 shown in fig. 6, and converts the data into an operation command for the receiver 5000. Then, the communication control unit 3300 of the management server 3000 transmits an operation command to the video display 5000 via the communication unit 3055. Thus, the video display 5000 can be remotely controlled by voice.
On the other hand, the analysis unit 3200 of the management server 3000 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on an operation command formed from the voice data of the viewer. For example, when the viewer instructs to play the live view of the artist a with a voice, it is possible to analyze that the preference of the viewer includes the artist a by analyzing the voice. The communication control unit 3300 transmits the analysis result to the CM distribution server 4000 as preference analysis information indicating the preference of the viewer. This makes it possible to view the viewer by broadcasting the addressable CM according to the preference of the viewer through the receiver 5000, and to obtain the same effects as those of the above-described embodiments.
[ sixth embodiment ]
Next, a description will be given of a broadcasting system according to a sixth embodiment. The above-described embodiments are examples in which the preference of the viewer is specified via the external device 6000. In contrast, the sixth embodiment is an example in which the image display device 5000 has the function of the external device 6000 described above. In this example, as shown in fig. 24, the video display 5000 collects and transmits information such as a recording/viewing history, a playback control history, a recording setting, and a viewing reservation setting to the management server 3000. The management server device 3000 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on the information such as the recording/viewing history received from the video display 5000, and transmits preference analysis information to the CM distribution server 4000. The CM distribution server 4000 transmits addressable CMs in accordance with the viewer's preference to the viewer's receiver 5000. Thus, addressable CMs can be viewed consistent with the preferences of the viewer.
Specifically, the integrated controller 5200 of the receiver 5000 shown in fig. 4 executes the favorite application stored in the storage medium 5001 to thereby realize the functions of the information collection unit 5802 and the communication control unit 5804 as shown in fig. 25.
In this example, the information collection unit 5802 of the receiver 5000 collects various information (operation log information) such as a recording/viewing history, a playback control history, a recording setting, and a viewing reservation setting, and stores the information in the storage medium 5001. The communication control unit 5804 reads the collected operation log information from the storage medium 5001, and transmits the operation log information to the management server 3000.
The analysis unit 3200 of the management server 3000 analyzes the operation log information of the receiver 5000 to extract, for example, an artist name or a program genre shown in a recorded program or a program scheduled to be viewed as preference information. Then, the extracted preference information is transmitted to the CM distribution server 4000. This makes it possible to view, via the receiver 5000 of the viewer, addressable CMs analyzed from the operation log of the receiver 5000, which match the preference of the viewer, and to obtain the same effects as those of the above-described embodiments.
[ seventh embodiment ]
Next, a description will be given of a broadcasting system of the seventh embodiment. The third and fourth embodiments described above are examples in which the preference of the viewer is specified via the external device 6000. In contrast, the seventh embodiment is an example in which the viewer specifies his or her preference by operating the video display device 5000.
(selection action from CM List based on video display machine)
Specifically, the integrated controller 5200 of the receiver 5000 shown in fig. 4 executes the favorite application stored in the storage medium 5001, thereby realizing the functions of the acquisition unit 5801 and the display control unit 5803 together with the information collection unit 5802 and the communication control unit 5804 shown in fig. 25.
In this example, the acquisition unit 5801 of the receiver 5000 acquires the CM list transmitted from the management server 3000. A preview image is added to each CM in the CM list. The display controller 5803 causes the display 5002 to display the acquired CM list and preview area. Fig. 26 is a display example of a CM list displayed on the display 5002. In the example of fig. 26, the CM list is a list of information items indicating, for example, the name of an artist who is performing an artist, the type of product, the atmosphere of the CM, the title of a song used in the CM, and the singer.
The viewer selects a CM that matches his/her preference, for example, a CM of a favorite product type, from the CM list by operating the operation unit 5005 of the video display 5000. When the viewer wants to view a preview image of a CM, the viewer operates the operation unit 5005 to designate the preview of the CM. When the preview of the CM is designated, the display controller 5803 controls the display 5002 to display the preview image added to the CM selected by the viewer. This enables the viewer to confirm the selected CM in advance.
When a CM matching the preference is selected by the viewer, the communication control unit 5804 transmits information indicating the CM selected by the viewer to the management server 3000 as preference information. The analysis unit 3200 of the management server 3000 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on the CM selected by the viewer, and transmits preference analysis information, which is the analysis result, to the CM distribution server 4000. This makes it possible to obtain the same effects as those of the above-described embodiments, in addition to allowing the viewer to view the addressable CM that matches the preference of the viewer via the receiver 5000 of the viewer.
(selection action from image list based on video display machine)
The above-described example is an example in which a desired CM is selected from the CM list transmitted from the management server 3000. However, it is also possible to provide addressable CMs corresponding to preferences of the viewer estimated based on an image specified by the viewer among images recorded in the recording medium 5001 of the video camera 5000 or sample images acquired from the management server 3000.
In this case, the acquiring unit 5801 of the video camera 5000 shown in fig. 25 acquires the sample image from the management server 3000. The information collection unit 5802 collects images such as photographs taken by the viewer, which are stored in the recording medium 5001. The display controller 5803 displays these images in a list on the display 5002 as shown in fig. 22.
The operator specifies an image that matches his or her preference from among the images displayed in the list via the operation unit 5005. The communication control unit 5804 transmits the image selected by the viewer to the management server 3000 as preference information. The analysis unit 3200 of the management server 3000 analyzes the preference of the viewer based on the image selected by the viewer, and transmits preference analysis information, which is the analysis result, to the CM distribution server 4000. This makes it possible to obtain the same effects as those of the above-described embodiments, in addition to allowing the viewer to view the addressable CM that matches the preference of the viewer via the receiver 5000 of the viewer.
In the description of the seventh embodiment, the video display 5000 is described as a television video display. However, the video display machine 5000 may be a set-top box that receives analog or digital terrestrial broadcasting, cable television broadcasting, network broadcasting via a network such as the internet, satellite broadcasting, or the like.
In the case of this set-top box, the operation log information of the set-top box is transmitted to the management server 3000, and thereby the advertisement information received from the management server 3000 is directly displayed on the display device (streaming) or temporarily stored in the storage unit. Then, the stored advertisement information is played and outputted at a predetermined timing such as between broadcast programs. Thus, as described above, it is possible to view an addressable CM that matches the preference of the viewer.
Such an embodiment is an example, and does not limit the scope of the present invention. The new embodiment can be implemented in other various ways, and various omissions, substitutions, and changes can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. These embodiments and modifications thereof are included in the scope and gist of the invention, and are included in the invention described in the claims and the equivalent scope thereof.
For example, in each of the above embodiments, addressable CMs downloaded in advance to the recording medium 5001 of the receiver 5000 are played, but addressable CMs on the CM distribution server 4000 may be streamed based on MPEG-dash (moving Picture Experts Group Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over Hyper Text Transfer protocol).
In the above description of the embodiments, the example in which the CM section in the broadcast program is replaced with the addressable CM has been described, but the addressable CM may be inserted and replaced with the content distributed via the internet.
The respective functions shown in fig. 6, 19, 21, and 22 are realized by software based on a program by the CPU, but some or all of the respective functions may be realized by hardware. The program may be stored in an electronic medium readable by a computer in advance, and the computer may be caused to realize the functions by causing the computer to read the program from the electronic medium. The electronic medium includes, for example, a flash memory, a removable medium, and the like, in addition to a recording medium such as a CD-ROM. Further, the components may be stored in different computers connected via a network in a distributed manner, and the components may be communicated with each other through the computers that function the components.
