In step S7, the threshold value determination unit 9 determines whether or not the difference between the width and the long side size of the current sheet is larger than the current width threshold value, and proceeds to step S8 if no, or proceeds to step S10 if no.
In step S8, the document processing section 11 performs a resizing process on the original document to obtain a print document, and then proceeds to step S9.
In step S9, the printing unit 12 prints the print document so that the longitudinal direction of the print document matches the width direction of the current sheet using the current sheet according to the print parameter input by the user, and then enters the end state.
In step S10, the paper determination unit 10 determines whether or not there is a printing paper having a width larger than the current paper, and proceeds to step S11 when it determines that there is a printing paper, and proceeds to step S12 otherwise.
In step S11, the printing unit 12 uses the printing paper having the larger width as a new current paper, prints the document file so that the longitudinal direction of the document file matches the width direction of the current paper according to the printing parameter input by the user, and then enters the end state.
In step S12, the printing unit 12 prints the document file so that the short side direction of the document file matches the current width direction of the paper, based on the print parameter input by the user, and then enters the end state.
In step S1 of the above-described operation flow, the user may directly use the initial width threshold set by the vendor of the printing apparatus without inputting the width threshold, so as to save the printing time.
Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example of a printing result of printing a print file according to the present embodiment.
In FIG. 4, the left side shows an original document, which has a long side size of 843mm and a short side size of 210mm.
In fig. 4, the right side represents a print file. Since the width of the printing paper closest to the long side size of the document file is 841mm, the long side size exceeds the width of the printing paper closest thereto. When the user sets the width threshold to 4mm and the processing mode is cutting, it is obvious that the difference between the long side dimension and the width of the closest printing paper is smaller than the width threshold, and at this time, the document processing section 11 performs cutting processing on the printing paper to obtain a printing document with both sides cut by 1mm. Then, the printing unit 12 prints the print document so that the longitudinal direction of the print document matches the width direction of the current sheet. In this example, the edge portions of the original document are each cut by 1mm, but the cutting has substantially no influence on the content due to the large overall size itself, but the printing time is shortened to about one fourth of that of the conventional manner (the length required to be printed in the conventional manner is 843mm, but only 210mm is required to be printed in the present embodiment).
Effects and effects of the examples
According to the printing apparatus and the printing method of the present embodiment, since the selecting section selects the roll printing paper having the width closest to the long side size as the current paper, the ultra-wide determining section determines whether the long side size exceeds the width of the current paper, and when it is determined that the difference between the width of the current paper and the long side size is larger than the width threshold, the threshold determining section determines that the document processing section performs the size adjustment processing on the document file to obtain the printing document when it is not larger than the threshold, and the printing section prints the printing document using the current paper so that the long side direction of the printing document coincides with the width direction of the current paper, the present embodiment can perform the size adjustment processing on the document file in the width range, and the processed printing document can be printed using the printing paper having the width closest to the long side size, so that the long side size is close to the width of the actual printing paper, saving the printing paper, and improving the utilization ratio of the printing paper. Meanwhile, the utilization rate of the printing paper is high, so that the printed paper file is more attractive, and the user satisfaction is increased. In addition, compared with the mode that the long side direction of the printed file is consistent with the width direction of the current paper in the short side direction of the printed file, the printing time is saved, and the printing efficiency is improved.
In addition, since the printing section prints the original document in such a manner that the long side direction of the original document coincides with the width direction of the current paper when the ultra-wide determination section determines that the original document does not exceed, the printing time is saved, the printing efficiency is improved, and the user satisfaction is increased.
Further, since the screen storage section stores the print setting screen having the Rong Kuan threshold input section for the user to input the width threshold, the input display section is capable of displaying the print setting screen for the user to input the width threshold, and once the user confirms the input width threshold, the threshold judgment section judges whether or not the difference between the width and the long side size of the current sheet is larger than the width threshold set by the user, so that in the present embodiment, the user is able to set the width threshold according to the actual condition of the document (for example, the adjustment upper limit value that does not affect the printing effect when the size adjustment is determined according to the condition of the document, and the value is taken as the width threshold), so that the size adjustment of the document image is performed according to the customer's need, not only saving the printing time, but also obtaining the printed document satisfactory to the customer.
The above embodiments are preferred examples of the present invention, and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, the paper feeding device is a peripheral device of the wide-format printer, and the printing paper is fed to the wide-format printer by the paper feeding device. In other embodiments, the paper feeding device may be a paper cassette part of a wide-format printer, and the printing paper may be directly fed from the printing unit, so that the structure of the printing apparatus may be simplified.
For example, in the above-described embodiment, the long-side dimension and the short-side dimension of the document file are the longest dimension and the shortest dimension of the page of the document in the lateral-longitudinal direction, respectively.
However, in general, the page of the document file is composed of an image and a margin, and in other embodiments, judgment and determination may be made according to the size of the image. In such an embodiment, the long side size is the maximum distance of the image of the document in the lateral-longitudinal direction, and the short side size is the minimum distance of the image of the document in the lateral-longitudinal direction; meanwhile, the original acquisition storage section includes an original file acquisition unit, an original size acquisition unit, a file minimum margin acquisition unit, a size calculation unit, and a size storage unit. In this embodiment, the document acquisition and storage section operates as follows: the original document acquiring unit acquires an original document; the original size obtaining unit obtains original sizes of originals in the transverse and longitudinal directions respectively; the file blank acquisition unit acquires the minimum blank distance of the original file in the transverse and longitudinal directions respectively; the size calculation unit calculates a difference between the original size and the minimum margin length in the corresponding direction as an image size, and takes a maximum image size as a long side size and a minimum image size as a short side size; the size storage unit stores the long side size and the short side size.
In this form, the printing paper having the image in the document with the length and width closest to the length is selected as the current paper, so that the influence of the blank in the document on the printing paper and the printing mode is reduced, the utilization rate of the printing paper is improved, and the printed paper document is more attractive.
In the present embodiment, the print setting screen has a print mode selecting section, a print parameter inputting section, a width threshold inputting section, and a document processing mode setting section, and in other embodiments, only one or two or more of the above sections may be provided.
In addition, the printing unit in the embodiment is a wide-format printer, but in the present invention, the printing unit may be another type of printer that can print with roll printing paper.
In addition, the original acquisition and storage section in the embodiment acquires only an original file and acquires the long side size and the short side size of the original file after acquiring the original file, but in the present invention, in order to improve the support for files of different formats, the original acquisition and storage section may also perform single-page PDF format conversion on the original file after acquiring the original file to obtain a single-page PDF. When printing, the control part sequentially takes each single-page PDF as a current manuscript file to be printed, so that the printing equipment sequentially performs printing actions on the single-page PDFs.

Claims (8)

1. A printing apparatus for mass printing document files having a long side size and a short side size, comprising:
a paper feeding device, a width threshold storage unit, a manuscript acquisition storage unit, a paper width acquisition unit, a selection unit, an ultra-wide determination unit, a threshold determination unit, a document processing unit, and a printing unit,
wherein the paper feeding device accommodates a plurality of roll printing papers with different widths,
the Rong Kuan threshold storage unit stores a preset width threshold value associated with the width,
the original document acquisition and storage unit stores the long side size and the short side size of the original document once the original document is acquired,
the paper width acquisition unit acquires the width of all the roll printing papers in the paper feeding device,
the selecting section selects the roll printing paper having a width closest to the long side dimension as a current paper based on the long side dimension and the width acquired by the paper width acquiring section,
the super-width determination unit determines whether the long side dimension exceeds the width of the current sheet,
when the super-width determination section determines that the width of the current sheet exceeds the width threshold, the threshold determination section determines whether or not the difference between the width of the current sheet and the long side dimension is larger than the width threshold,
when the threshold value judging section judges that the document is not larger than the threshold value judging section, the document processing section performs a resizing process on the document file to obtain a print document,
the printing unit prints the print document using the current sheet so that a longitudinal direction of the print document matches a width direction of the current sheet,
the printing apparatus further includes a paper determination section,
when the threshold value judging section judges that the paper is larger than the current paper, the paper judging section judges whether or not the roll printing paper having a width larger than the current paper is present,
when the paper determination unit determines that the paper exists, the printing unit prints the original document using the roll printing paper having the larger width as the new current paper so that the longitudinal direction of the original document matches the width direction of the current paper, and when the paper determination unit determines that the paper does not exist, the printing unit prints the original document so that the short side direction of the original document matches the width direction of the current paper.
2. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein:
when the super-width determination unit determines that the document is not to be printed out, the printing unit prints the document using the current sheet so that the longitudinal direction of the document matches the width direction of the current sheet.
3. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:
a screen storage unit and an input display unit,
wherein the screen storage section stores a print setting screen having a Rong Kuan threshold value input section for allowing a user to input the Rong Kuan threshold value,
the input display section displays the print setting screen for the user to input the width threshold,
upon confirmation of the Rong Kuan threshold by the user, the Rong Kuan threshold storage stores the Rong Kuan threshold of input as a new Rong Kuan threshold.
4. A printing apparatus according to claim 1 or 3, wherein:
wherein the setting range of the Rong Kuan threshold is 2mm-100mm.
5. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein:
a screen storage unit and an input display unit,
wherein the screen storage section stores a print setting screen having a processing mode setting section for letting a user select a processing mode for performing a resizing process on the document file, the processing mode including a trimming process and a reduction process,
the document processing section performs a trimming process or a reduction process on the original document according to the selection of the user, thereby obtaining the print document.
6. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein:
the width of the roll printing paper is 210mm-841mm.
7. The printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein:
wherein the original document is composed of an image and a margin,
the long side dimension is the maximum distance of the image of the original document in the lateral-longitudinal direction,
the short side dimension is a minimum distance of the image of the original document in a lateral-longitudinal direction,
the original document acquisition and storage section includes an original document file acquisition unit, an original document size acquisition unit, a file minimum margin acquisition unit, a size calculation unit, and a size storage unit,
the original document acquiring unit acquires the original document,
the original size acquisition unit acquires original sizes of the originals in the lateral and longitudinal directions respectively,
the document margin obtaining unit obtains minimum margin distances in the transverse and longitudinal directions of the document respectively,
the size calculation unit calculates a difference between the original size and the minimum margin length in the corresponding direction as an image size, and takes a largest image size as the long side size, a smallest image size as the short side size,
the size storage unit stores the long side size and the short side size.
8. A printing method for mass printing of document files having a long side size and a short side size, comprising the steps of:
a paper feeding step of accommodating a plurality of roll printing papers of different widths,
a width threshold value storing step of storing a preset width threshold value associated with the width,
a document acquisition and storage step of, once the document file is acquired, storing a long side size and the short side size of the document file,
a paper width acquisition step of acquiring the width of all the roll printing papers,
a selecting step of selecting, as a current sheet, the roll printing sheet having a width closest to the long side dimension based on the long side dimension and the width acquired by the sheet width acquiring unit,
an ultra-wide determination step of determining whether the long side dimension exceeds the width of the current sheet,
a threshold value judging step of judging whether or not a difference between the width of the current sheet and the long side size is larger than the capacity threshold value when it is judged that the long side size exceeds the width of the current sheet,
a document processing step of performing a size adjustment process on the original document to obtain a print document when it is determined that a difference between the width of the current sheet and the long side size is not greater than the width tolerance threshold,
a paper determination step of further determining that the roll printing paper having a width larger than the current paper is present when it is determined that a difference between the width of the current paper and the long side dimension is larger than the width threshold,
a printing step of printing the adjusted print document by using the current paper in such a manner that the longitudinal direction of the print document coincides with the width direction of the current paper when it is determined that the difference between the width of the current paper and the longitudinal dimension is not greater than the width tolerance threshold; when it is determined that there is the roll printing paper having a width larger than the current paper, printing the original document using the roll printing paper having the width larger as the new current paper so that the longitudinal direction of the original document coincides with the width direction of the current paper; when it is determined that there is no roll printing paper having a width larger than the current paper, the original document is printed so that the short side direction of the original document coincides with the width direction of the current paper.
