Abstract

Technical Field
The present invention relates to a connector structure, and more particularly, to an adapter for a connector.
Background
The most commonly used connector in the market today is a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connector. Generally, USB Type-a is the most widely used and popular USB interface. However, USB Type-C is mainly applied to thinner and slimmer electronic devices, so USB Type-C is gradually replacing conventional connectors.
However, as the electronic device is designed to be light, thin, short and small, the peripheral position and thickness of the body are not used, and the internal circuit layout space is not sufficient, so that it is not possible to arrange a plurality of electrical connectors in the limited space of the electronic device, and users feel inconvenience due to the limitation of the specification of the electrical connectors.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention provides an adapter for a connector, which can convert the existing USB Type-A electric connector into a USB Type-C electric connector for application by utilizing the fact that one end of the adapter for the connector is designed to be in accordance with the USB Type-C standard and the other end of the adapter for the connector is designed to be in accordance with the USB Type-A standard.

One end of the circuit board 2 has a first tongue plate 21 and the other end has a second tongue plate 22, the first tongue plate 21 has a plurality of first conductive connection portions 211, the second tongue plate 22 has a plurality of second conductive connection portions 221 electrically connected with the plurality of first conductive connection portions 211, the second tongue plate 22 is overlapped on the loading plate 21 and forms an overlapping structure 23 together, the first tongue plate 21 and the plurality of first conductive connection portions 211 conform to the USB Type-C specification, and the overlapping structure 23 and the plurality of second conductive connection portions 221 conform to the USB Type-a specification.
In the embodiment, the first tongue plate 21 is connected to the O-ring 12 in a penetrating manner, the first tongue plate 21 and the O-ring 12 together form a USB Type-C female connector, and the second conductive parts 221 conform to the USB 2.0 Type-a specification, but not limited thereto.
As shown in fig. 3 to 4, the adapter 10 for connector according to the present invention is used in a USB Type-a interface, which is the most widely used and popular USB interface for electronic devices at present, but the USB Type-C interface is also used gradually, so that one end of the adapter 10 for connector is designed to conform to the USB Type-C specification and the other end thereof is designed to conform to the USB Type-a specification, so that the existing USB Type-a electrical connector can be converted into the USB Type-C electrical connector for application.
In addition, the first tongue plate 21 and the plurality of first connecting portions 211 of the circuit board 2 conform to the USB Type-C specification, that is, the shapes, thicknesses and circuit layouts of the first tongue plate 21 and the plurality of first connecting portions 211 conform to the USB Type-C specification, but the first tongue plate 21 and the second tongue plate 22 are partial regions of the same circuit board 2, so the thickness of the second tongue plate 22 also conforms to the USB Type-C specification but does not conform to the USB Type-a specification, so the second tongue plate 22 is stacked on the carrier plate 21 to increase the thickness of the second tongue plate 22, and the second tongue plate 22 and the carrier plate 21 jointly form the stacked structure 23, so that the stacked structure 23 and the plurality of second connecting portions 221 conform to the USB Type-a specification, that is, the shapes, thicknesses and circuit layouts of the stacked structure 23 and the plurality of second connecting portions 221 conform to the USB Type-a specification. Therefore, the adapter 10 for the connector has the advantages of simple structure, easy assembly and the like by simply thickening the thickness of the second tongue plate 22 through the bearing plate 21, namely enabling the adapter 10 for the connector to have the USB Type-C and USB Type-A specifications at the same time.
Furthermore, the first tongue plate 21 is connected to the O-ring sleeve 12 through the mounting opening 122 in a penetrating manner to form a USB Type-C female connector, and a covering sheet 123 covering the mounting opening 122 extends downwards from a top edge of one end of the O-ring sleeve 12, so that the O-ring sleeve 12 and the covering sheet 123 completely cover the outer periphery of the first tongue plate 21, thereby further improving the shielding capability of the O-ring sleeve 12, avoiding the transmitted high-frequency signal from generating signal Loss (Loss), and preventing the signal of the electrical connector from being attenuated in the transmission line process.
Referring to fig. 5 to 9, another embodiment of the adapter 10 for a connector according to the present invention is shown, the embodiment of fig. 5 to 9 is substantially the same as the embodiment of fig. 1 to 4, but the embodiment of fig. 5 to 9 is different from the embodiment of fig. 1 to 4 in the structure of the housing member 1.
In detail, the housing member 1 includes a first housing 13 and a second housing 14, the first housing 13 has a bearing plate 11 at one end and a C-shaped ring sleeve 131 extending from the bearing plate 11 at the other end, the second housing 14 has a first joint sleeve 141 at one end and a second joint sleeve 142 at the other end, and a first through opening 143 and a second through opening 144 are formed at one side of the first joint sleeve 141 and one side of the second joint sleeve 142 and are disposed oppositely. The first housing 13 is mainly made of plastic material, and the second housing 14 is mainly made of metal material, but not limited thereto.
In addition, the first tongue plate 22 is connected to the first joint sleeve 141 in a penetrating manner through the first penetrating opening 143, the C-shaped ring sleeve 131 is connected to the outside of the first joint sleeve 141 in a penetrating manner through the second penetrating opening 144, so that the first tongue plate 22, the C-shaped ring sleeve 131 and the first joint sleeve 141 form a USB Type-C female connector, and the superposition structure 23 is connected to the second joint sleeve 142 in a penetrating manner, so that the C-shaped ring sleeve 131 and the first joint sleeve 141 are wrapped around the outer circumference of the first tongue plate 21, and the second joint sleeve 142 is wrapped around the outer circumference of the second tongue plate 22, thereby avoiding the transmitted high-frequency signal from generating signal Loss (Loss) and preventing the signal of the electric connector from being attenuated in the process of transmitting the signal.

Referring to fig. 10, in yet another embodiment of the adapter 10 for a connector according to the present invention, the embodiment of fig. 10 is substantially the same as the embodiment of fig. 1 to 4, but the embodiment of fig. 10 is different from the embodiment of fig. 1 to 4 in that the second connecting portions 221 conform to the USB 3.0 Type-a specification.
As described further below, the second connectors 221 of the present invention may conform to USB 2.0 Type-a or USB 3.0 Type-a specifications, which may be adjusted according to practical situations and are not limited by the embodiments.
