Description
Subject matter of the invention
The present invention relates to an electric friction device for nails, called an electric nail file or an electric nail clipper, and more particularly, to an electric nail file including a detachable head.
Background
Electric nail files with interchangeable removable heads are well known to those skilled in the art. Each head consists of one or several abrasive surfaces, which are placed on the nail during the treatment of the nail. The detachable head has the advantage of providing the user with an abrasive surface with different abrasive particle sizes. Typically, a user initiates nail care using a head with coarser abrasive particles to reshape the nail. The user then finishes the nail with finer abrasive particles to complete the treatment. Each abrasive particle size provides different results. Based on the desired result, the user selects the appropriate abrasive surface.
Document FR 3038210 discloses an electric nail eraser comprising a hollow sleeve containing a power source, and a plurality of removable heads that can be connected to this sleeve using a drive shaft. During use of the device an oscillating movement of the head is generated. To replace the abrasive surface, the user must replace the removable head with another head.
Document JP 01171504 describes an electric nail file comprising a head having at least two different abrasive surfaces.
The main drawback of most prior art electric nail files is that a large number of file heads are required to cover the entire range of abrasion required to file the nail with the file. To file, fine and polish the nails with a file, using at least three heads, experience has shown that they are quickly lost and then if one head is left, the device cannot be practically used.
Another drawback that is often observed is the weakness of the motor (weakness), which is difficult to work with an undersized motor as soon as the abrasive surface is in contact with the nail.
Object of the Invention
The object of the present invention is to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art. The object of the present invention is, inter alia, to provide an electric nail file with a detachable head, which has a specific geometry allowing the use of several abrading surfaces due to the single head.
Brief description of the invention

Detailed Description
The present invention relates to an electric nail file 1 comprising a handle 2 and a detachable head 3 able to cooperate with the handle 2.
The handle 2 is hollow and houses in its cavity a power source 4, a motor 5, and a drive shaft 6.
A power source 4, such as a battery unit or rechargeable battery, provides power to the motor 5. This motor 5 in turn actuates a rotary shaft 8 connected to a gear mechanism 9. As illustrated in fig. 4, the gear mechanism 9 converts the rotational movement of the rotating shaft 8 into an oscillating movement of the drive shaft 6 by means of an eccentric rod placed in an asymmetric housing.
The sanding head 3 is detachably fastened to the handle 2 so that it can be easily replaced by other sanding heads with customized abrasive grains. In practice, the sanding head slides on a sliding guide 11 extending through the handle 2 and having a cross-section of substantially the same type as that of the sanding head 3. The male-female configuration of the sanding head/sliding guide assembly has several advantages. Which allows a quick exchange of the sanding head directly in the correct locking position and, in addition, the oscillating moving head is maintained strictly in the same plane without lateral vibrations, which considerably improves the comfort of the user. Drive shaft 6 includes locking grooves 12 at its distal end that allow sanding head 3 to be snapped and held onto handle 2. When the electric nail file is actuated, the head 3 performs a linear back and forth motion due to the oscillation of the driving shaft 6.
The sanding head 3 has a slightly rounded triangular cross-section allowing tangential contact with the nail. The sanding head comprises three faces on which three abrasive faces 7 are fixed, which during use are in contact with the fingernails. Because the sanding head 3 is removable, it can be easily replaced with another head. The radius of curvature of the abrasive surface is between 10 and 25mm, preferably between 15 and 20 mm. In fig. 6, the abrasive surface is shown with a radius of curvature of 16 millimeters.
The three abrasive surfaces 7 may have different roughness levels so that the user can select a surface suitable for his needs. In this way, the user does not have to change the sanding head 3 when it is desired to change the roughness. In addition, this allows him to avoid losing different removable heads when they have only a single type of grinding surface as in the prior art.
The abrasive sheet 7 is glued to the sanding head 3 using a repositionable adhesive. In this way, when the surface is damaged or excessively worn, the user can remove the surface in order to replace it with another abrasive sheet 7. To this end, a kit of self-adhesive abrasive sheets with different abrasive particles positionable on a sanding head may be provided with an apparatus that allows for the separate placement of the abrasive surface for each user.
The abrasive surfaces 7 of the sanding heads are substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft 6. However, as illustrated in fig. 7, in a particular embodiment, the abrasive surface 7 may be slightly inclined at an angle between 90 and 98 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft 6.
The abrasive sheet 7 has a curved shape at its distal end, that is, the end of the face 7 farthest from the handle 2 is rounded.
The handle 2 has an ergonomic shape.
In one advantageous embodiment of the invention, the rasp 1 includes a mechanism that allows the sanding head 3 to pivot about the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft of the rasp 1 when the oscillating motion is stopped. In this way, when the user wishes to replace the abrasive surface 7, he presses the button of the rotating mechanism of the actuation head 3, which then makes a 120-degree rotation with respect to the longitudinal axis of the device. Thanks to this mechanism, the user does not have to change the position of the handle in his hand when he desires to have another abrasive surface 7. In addition, he can keep the thumb pressed against the start button of the device if he so desires.
As previously explained, the abrasive sheet may have different roughness levels so that the user can select a surface suitable for his needs. Typically, the user starts nail care with low oscillation amplitude and low frequency of the sanding head using an abrasive with coarse abrasive particles, and therefore with a greater roughness. To complete his nail treatment, the user will select fine abrasive particles that will allow him to polish (polish) the nail and a larger oscillation amplitude and frequency than in the first step.
To this end, the electric file comprises means for adjusting the amplitude of the oscillating movement. The amplitude of the oscillating movement of the sanding heads 3 may be between 1 and 5mm, preferably between 2 and 4 mm. The apparatus may further comprise means for adjusting the oscillation frequency.
The braking force of the motor is between 25 and 50N, preferably between 30 and 40N, which ensures an efficient treatment of the nails. In this way, the oscillation of the sanding head 3 is still effective when the abrasive surface 7 is in contact with the user's fingernail.
The sanding head may comprise 3 faces with the same abrasive grain size or with different abrasive grain sizes. Abrasive grain size is typically used in the field of nail files and is between 100 and 3000 according to CAMI terminology (nomenclature). To shape the nail, the user will select between 100 and 400 abrasive particles, while to smooth the nail surface he will select between 400 and 1000 abrasive particles. Polishing of the nail was accomplished using an abrasive surface with approximately 3000 abrasive particles.
The electric rasp is an automatic device having a rechargeable battery or battery unit.
