Disclosure of Invention
In view of this, embodiments of the present invention are directed to provide a foldable display panel and a display device, in which a rigid film layer on one side of the display panel is connected to a flexible film layer on the other side of the display panel through a connecting element, and the rigid film layer provides a transverse stress for flattening and recovering the flexible film layer after being folded, so as to improve the flattening and recovering speed of the entire display panel, and solve the problems of poor flattening and recovering effects and poor user experience.
According to an aspect of the present invention, an embodiment of the present invention provides a foldable display panel, including: the rigid film layer and the flexible film layer are arranged in a stacked mode; and a plurality of connecting members connecting the rigid film layer and the flexible film layer; the plurality of connecting pieces are respectively arranged on two sides of the folding line of the display panel.

The following describes a specific structure and an implementation manner of a foldable display panel provided in an embodiment of the present application in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings:

In an embodiment, the foldable display panel may comprise a plurality of layers of flexible film 2, and the flexible film 2 furthest from the rigid film 1 is connected to the rigid film 1 by a connector 3. The flexible film layer 2 with the farthest rigid film layer 1 is connected with the flexible film layer 2, so that the transverse stress required by the flexible film layer 2 in the state of recovering the flat state can be provided, and other film layers between the rigid film layer 1 and the flexible film layer 2 connected with the rigid film layer 1 can be quickly recovered to the flat state under the driving of the rigid film layer 1 and the flexible film layer 2 connected with the rigid film layer 1, of course, the flexible film layer 2 connected with the rigid film layer 1 can be selected according to the requirements of practical application scenes, and the specific position of the flexible film layer 2 is not limited in the embodiment of the application.
According to the foldable display panel provided by the embodiment of the invention, the rigid film layer 1 on one side of the display panel is connected with the flexible film layer 2 on the other side of the display panel through the connecting pieces 3 arranged on two sides of the folding line of the display panel, and the rigid film layer 1 is used for providing transverse stress for flattening and recovering the flexible film layer 2 after being folded so as to improve the flattening recovery speed of the flexible film layer 2, so that the flattening recovery speed of the whole display panel is improved, and the use experience of a user is improved; simultaneously, be connected rigid film layer 1 and flexible film layer 2 and set up, also can reduce folding process and resume the in-process transverse stress of flat state to the damage of flexible film layer 2 to improve the life of flexible film layer 2.
Fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a foldable display panel according to another embodiment of the present application along a stacking direction. As shown in fig. 2, a first extending portion 31 parallel to the flexible film 2 may be disposed at one end of the connection element 3 connected to the flexible film 2, the first extending portion 31 is fixedly connected to the connection element main body 30, a second extending portion 311 perpendicular to the flexible film 2 is disposed at one end of the first extending portion 31 away from the connection element main body 30, the second extending portion 311 is fixedly connected to the first extending portion 31, and a groove structure 21 matched with the second extending portion 311 may be disposed on the flexible film 2. Because the required stress direction of the flexible film layer 2 of the folding back flattening state is horizontal (the direction parallel to the flexible film layer 2), therefore, one end of connecting the connecting piece 3 with the flexible film layer 2 is provided with the first extending part 31 and the second extending part 311, the second extending part 311 is matched with the groove structure 21 on the flexible film layer 2, so as to strengthen the connection between the connecting piece 3 and the flexible film layer, thereby strengthening the connection between the rigid film layer 1 and the flexible film layer 2, and enabling the rigid film layer 1 to better provide the transverse stress required by the flexible film layer 2. In an embodiment, the rigid film layer 1 may be disposed on the folding outer side of the foldable display panel. By arranging the rigid film layer 1 on the folding outer side, the rigid film layer 1 can provide pulling force to realize the recovery of the foldable display panel to the flat state in the process of recovering the flat state after folding.
Fig. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a foldable display panel according to another embodiment of the present application along a stacking direction. As shown in fig. 3, the end of the connecting element 3 connected to the flexible film 2 may be a snap structure 32, and the flexible film 2 may be provided with a protrusion structure 22 cooperating with the snap structure 32. In an embodiment, the display panel may include a plurality of flexible film layers 2, and the connection member 3 may penetrate and connect all of the flexible film layers 2. Generally, the display panel includes a plurality of film layers, and in order to realize the foldability of the display panel, the plurality of film layers are made of flexible materials, so as to better ensure that the display panel is quickly restored to the flat state after being folded, the connecting members 3 penetrate through all the flexible film layers 2 and are connected with all the flexible film layers 2, so as to realize that the rigid film layers 1 are connected with all the flexible film layers 2, the rigid film layers 1 provide the transverse stress of all the flexible film layers 2 in the flat state after being folded, thereby further accelerating the speed of quickly restoring the flat state of the display panel after being folded, and all the flexible film layers 2 are connected with the rigid film layers 1, so as to ensure that all the flexible film layers 2 keep consistency along with the rigid film layers 1 in the processes of being folded and restored to the flat state, and avoid stress differences between different flexible film layers 2 caused by different transverse stresses on different flexible film layers 2, the falling-off between different flexible film layers 2 is avoided, and the bonding strength between the flexible film layers 2 is further improved. It should be understood that, in the embodiment of the present application, part or all of the flexible film layers 2 may be selected to be connected with the connecting elements 3 according to different practical application scenarios, as long as the selected flexible film layers 2 can meet the requirement that the foldable display panel is integrally restored to the flat state and ensure that each of the flexible film layers 2 does not fall off, and the number and specific positions of the specific flexible film layers 2 connected with the connecting elements 3 are not limited in the embodiment of the present application. It should be further understood that the connection form of the connection element 3 and each flexible film layer 2 may also be selected according to the requirement of the actual application scenario, and may include the above three connection forms, or other fixed connection forms, as long as the connection strength between the flexible film layer 2 and the connection element 3 can be ensured, and the specific connection form between the connection element 3 and each flexible film layer 2 is not limited in the embodiment of the present application.
In an embodiment, the connecting member 3 may comprise a rigid material. Because the efficiency of the flexible material in the aspect of stress transmission is lower than that of the rigid material, in order to better provide the transverse stress required by the folded and flattened state of the flexible film layer 2, the material of the connecting piece 3 can be selected as the rigid material, so that the transverse stress provided by the rigid film layer 1 can be better transmitted to the flexible film layer 2; meanwhile, the connecting piece 3 made of rigid materials can be connected with each flexible film layer 2 better, so that the bonding performance between the flexible film layers 2 is improved, and certain supporting force and protection can be provided.
In one embodiment, the connecting element 3 and the rigid film 1 may be made of the same material. In a further embodiment, the connection element 3 and the rigid film layer 1 may be of a unitary structure. Because the joint degree between the same material is higher, consequently, can set up connecting piece 3 and rigidity rete 1 and be same material to guarantee connecting piece 3 and rigidity rete 1's joint degree, thereby better realization rigidity rete 1 provides the required transverse stress of flexible rete 2 through connecting piece 3. Fig. 4 is a schematic top view of a foldable display panel according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in fig. 4, the foldable display panel may include an even number of the connection members 3 and be symmetrically disposed at both sides of the folding line of the display panel. In order to improve the connection strength between the connecting element 3 and the flexible film layer 2 and the rigid film layer 1, the contact area between the connecting element 3 and the flexible film layer 2 and the rigid film layer 1 can be improved, for example, the width of the connecting element 3 and the number of the connecting elements 3 can be increased, the connection strength between the connecting element 3 and the flexible film layer 2 and the rigid film layer 1 can be effectively improved, and the stress of the flexible film layer 2 can be more uniform. It should be understood that the width and the number of the connecting elements 3 in the embodiments of the present application may be selected according to different practical application scenarios, as long as the width and the number of the connecting elements 3 are selected to transfer the transverse stress provided by the rigid film layer 1 to the flexible film layer 2, and the specific width and the specific number of the connecting elements 3 in the embodiments of the present application are not limited.
An embodiment of the present invention further provides a foldable display device, including the foldable display panel as described in any one of the above. According to the foldable display device provided by the embodiment of the invention, the rigid film layer 1 on one side of the display panel is connected with the flexible film layer 2 on the other side of the display panel through the connecting pieces 3 arranged on two sides of the folding line of the display panel, and the rigid film layer 1 is used for providing transverse stress for flattening and recovering the flexible film layer 2 after being folded, so that the flattening recovery speed of the flexible film layer 2 is increased, the flattening recovery speed of the whole display panel is increased, and the use experience of a user is improved; simultaneously, be connected rigid film layer 1 and flexible film layer 2 and set up, also can reduce folding process and resume the in-process transverse stress of flat state to the damage of flexible film layer 2 to improve the life of flexible film layer 2.

1. A foldable display panel, comprising:
the rigid film layer and the flexible film layer are arranged in a stacked mode; and
a plurality of tie members connecting the rigid film layer and the flexible film layer, the tie members comprising a rigid material;
the connecting piece is fixedly connected with the rigid film layer;
one end of the connecting piece, which is connected with the flexible film layer, is provided with a first extending part parallel to the flexible film layer, the first extending part is fixedly connected with a main body of the connecting piece, one end of the first extending part, which is far away from the main body of the connecting piece, is provided with a second extending part perpendicular to the flexible film layer, the second extending part is fixedly connected with the first extending part, and the flexible film layer is provided with a groove structure matched with the second extending part; or
One end of the connecting piece, which is connected with the flexible film layer, is of a buckle structure, and a convex structure matched with the buckle structure is arranged on the flexible film layer; or
The connecting piece is bonded with the flexible film layer;
the plurality of connecting pieces are respectively arranged on two sides of the folding line of the display panel, so that the rigid film layer provides transverse stress to the flexible film layer in the flattening process.
2. The foldable display panel of claim 1, wherein the display panel comprises a plurality of layers of the flexible film, and wherein the connector extends through and connects all of the layers of the flexible film.
3. The foldable display panel of claim 1, wherein the connecting element and the rigid film are made of the same material.
4. The foldable display panel of claim 3, wherein the connector is a unitary structure with the rigid film layer.
5. The foldable display panel of claim 1, wherein the rigid film layer comprises a sheet of steel.
6. A foldable display device, characterized in that it comprises a foldable display panel according to any of claims 1-5.
