Background
Currently, a cellular wireless communication system relies on accurate and efficient coordination and interworking between a base station and a User Equipment (UE), wherein terminal capability is an important part of coordination between the base station and the UE. However, in a multi-mode scenario, in order to avoid wasting air interface resources of such information, a Mobility Management Entity (MME) may store the UE capability information when the UE is in an IDLE state, and transmit the UE capability to an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network, EUTRAN) through an INITIAL CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST on an S1 interface when needed.
And initially, the MME acquires or updates the UE capability by triggering a UE capability request procedure and storing relevant information again through an attach or Tracking Area Update (TAU) procedure. After the UE detach the detach, the related information is deleted. In an interworking scenario, for example, when a UE initially accesses a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network or switches from a New Radio (NR) independent network (SA), in a capability transfer process of the UE, because a current network supports more systems and an information amount is larger, a delay in a transmission process may be larger.

Detailed Description
The term "and/or" in the embodiments of the present invention describes an association relationship of associated objects, and indicates that three relationships may exist, for example, a and/or B may indicate: a exists alone, A and B exist simultaneously, and B exists alone. The character "/" generally indicates that the former and latter associated objects are in an "or" relationship.
In the embodiments of the present application, the term "plurality" means two or more, and other terms are similar thereto.
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present application, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present application, and not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present application.
Currently, in the prior art, by triggering a UE Capability request procedure in an attach or TAU procedure and storing relevant information again, the UE Capability (Capability) acquisition mainly involves two procedures: and the UE Capability request and the UE Capability report. When the base station needs the UE to report the UE Capability, the base station can issue a terminal Capability query UE Capability inquiry instruction to the UE. And after the UE receives the UE Capability Information instruction, reporting UE Capability Information by the UE according to the instruction. The base station then reports the UE Capability Information to the EPC.
Based on the current implementation, when a user initially accesses and switches to an LTE network, a base station sends a UE Capability inquiry message to a UE, and a terminal transfers UE Capability queried each time to an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) through the base station.
When a user switches and accesses, if a terminal switched in among stations in an LTE system supports NR but a switching request sent by a source base station to a target base station does not carry an NR capability code stream, UE capability query information is issued to acquire the NR capability of the terminal. Or the Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (EUTRAN) capability of the switched-in UE does not carry the NR capability, but the base station indicates that the UE supports the R13-R15 protocol, and may be that the source base station does not support the R15 protocol, and therefore does not carry a complete code stream, and therefore the destination base station needs to query the UE capability again, and organizes the capability query information of each terminal according to its own protocol version and transmits the capability query information to the opposite terminal (i.e., the terminal).
However, each UE may have different capabilities, such as:
UE Capability of carrier Combination (Band Combination) level: each Band Combination may have different capabilities, such as Band3+ Band41, which supports certain UE capabilities, while Band3+ Band78 may not.
UE Capability at carrier (Band) level: each Band may have different capabilities, and the terminal may support multiple bands, but the current base station configuration may only involve part of the bands, so when acquiring the UE capability, only the capabilities of the involved bands need to be acquired.
The prior art has the defects that in a multi-mode scene, the UE has more systems supported by the capability, the information quantity is larger, and the time delay is easy to be larger; moreover, in the UE capability transfer process, if the reconfiguration according to the current base station protocol version may have situations such as loss and incomplete terminal capability.
Therefore, the embodiment of the application provides a method, a device and a network device for acquiring the capability of a terminal, and the integrity of the capability information of the UE needs to be ensured, and the transmission delay is effectively reduced, so as to improve the user perception.
The method and the device are based on the same application concept, and because the principles of solving the problems of the method and the device are similar, the implementation of the device and the method can be mutually referred, and repeated parts are not repeated.
The network device according to the embodiment of the present application may be a base station, and the base station may include a plurality of cells for providing services to a terminal. A base station may also be referred to as an access point, or a device in an access network that communicates over the air-interface, through one or more sectors, with wireless terminals, or by other names, depending on the particular application. The network device may be configured to exchange received air frames with Internet Protocol (IP) packets as a router between the wireless terminal and the rest of the access network, which may include an Internet Protocol (IP) communication network. The network device may also coordinate attribute management for the air interface. For example, the network device according to the embodiment of the present application may be a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in a Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) or a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), a network device (NodeB) in a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA), an evolved Node B (eNB) or an e-NodeB) in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) System, a 5G Base Station (gNB) in a 5G network architecture (next generation System), a Home evolved Node B (HeNB), a relay Node (relay Node), a Home Base Station (femto), a pico Base Station (pico), and the like, which are not limited in the embodiments of the present application. In some network architectures, a network device may include a Centralized Unit (CU) node and a Distributed Unit (DU) node, which may also be geographically separated.
Specifically, as shown in fig. 1, an embodiment of the present invention provides a method for acquiring a terminal capability, which may be applied to a network device, and the following specific implementation is described by taking application to a network device as an example: the method may specifically include:
step 101, acquiring first terminal capability information of a target terminal.
Specifically, the network device obtains terminal capability information of the target terminal, that is, first terminal capability information, from the target terminal as needed, and stores the obtained first terminal capability information.
The network device may obtain the required terminal capability information once or multiple times as required, which is not limited herein.
It should be noted that the first terminal capability information is only the terminal capability information about the target terminal that is acquired by the network device as needed, and is not limited to the terminal capability information acquired for the first time, nor is the number of the acquired terminal capability information limited to one.
And 102, merging the first terminal capability information and the stored second terminal capability information of the target terminal to obtain merged first target terminal capability information.
Specifically, the network device merges the first terminal capability information with second terminal capability information about the target terminal stored in the network device according to the acquired first terminal capability information, so as to obtain the merged first target terminal capability information, and merges the acquired first terminal capability information with the stored second terminal capability information, so as to reduce transmission traffic and delay.
The second terminal capability information is only the terminal capability information about the target terminal stored by the network device, and is not limited to the terminal capability information acquired for the second time or stored for the second time, nor is the number of the acquired or stored terminal capability information limited.
Step 103, sending the first target terminal capability information to an Evolved Packet Core (EPC).
Specifically, after the merged first target terminal capability information is obtained, the network device reports the merged first target terminal capability information to the EPC, and the network device reports the merged first target terminal capability information to the EPC, thereby avoiding the waste of transmission traffic due to repeated reporting of terminal capability information of the same system.
In the above embodiment of the present invention, by acquiring the first terminal capability information of the target terminal, the first terminal capability information is merged with the stored second terminal capability information of the target terminal to obtain the merged first target terminal capability information, and the first target terminal capability information is sent to the EPC. The acquired terminal capability information and the stored terminal capability information are merged and then sent to the EPC, so that the terminal capability query results of the same system can be merged and updated, the amount of transmitted information is reduced, and the transmission delay can be reduced.
As an optional embodiment, the merging process is a processing mode of merging terminal capability information having the same system in the first terminal capability information and the second terminal capability information; or,
the merging processing is a merging processing mode of adding the first terminal capability information to the second terminal capability information.
Specifically, the merging processing manner may include: the information of the terminal capacity of the same system as the first terminal capacity information in the second terminal capacity information is replaced by the first terminal capacity information, so that the situation that the transmission flow is increased due to repeated transmission of the terminal capacity information of the same system can be avoided, or when the second terminal capacity information has the terminal capacity information of the same system as the first terminal capacity information, the first terminal capacity information is removed and is not reserved; in other words, when there is duplicate terminal capability information between the acquired first terminal capability information and the stored second terminal capability information, the terminal capability information is retained only once, that is, for terminal capability information in the second terminal capability information having the same format as the first terminal capability information, the first terminal capability information may be the reference, or the terminal capability information in the second terminal capability information having the same format as the first terminal capability information may be the reference, which is not specifically limited herein.
Or, the merging processing mode may further include: and adding the first terminal capability information into the second terminal capability information for merging. The method specifically comprises the following steps: if the second terminal capability information does not have the terminal capability information with the same system as the first terminal capability information, the first terminal capability information and the second terminal capability information need to be added to obtain the first target terminal capability information.
As an optional embodiment, after the step 101 acquires the first terminal capability information of the target terminal, the method further includes:
and updating the stored second terminal capability information according to the first terminal capability information.
Specifically, after the network device acquires the first terminal capability information, if the second terminal capability information has terminal capability information of the same format as the first terminal capability information, the second terminal capability information may be updated by retaining only one of the terminal capability information of the format; or if the second terminal capacity information does not have the terminal capacity information with the same system as the first terminal capacity information, directly adding the first terminal capacity information into the second terminal capacity information to update the second terminal capacity information; or if the second terminal capability information has the terminal capability information with the same system as the first terminal capability information, the first terminal capability information is still added to the second terminal capability information to update the second terminal capability information.
For example, if the second terminal capability information includes third terminal capability information and fourth terminal capability information, where the third terminal capability information and the first terminal capability information are terminal capability information of the same system, replacing the third terminal capability information with the first terminal capability information, thereby obtaining updated second terminal capability information, where the updated second terminal capability information includes the first terminal capability information and the fourth terminal capability information; and if the third terminal capacity information and the fourth terminal capacity information in the second terminal capacity information are not the same type of terminal capacity information as the first terminal capacity information, storing the first terminal capacity information into the network equipment to obtain updated second terminal capacity information, wherein the updated second terminal capacity information comprises the first terminal capacity information, the third terminal capacity information and the fourth terminal capacity information.
As an optional embodiment, before the step 101 acquires the first terminal capability information of the target terminal, the method further includes:
determining required terminal capacity information and determining query times N required by querying the required terminal capacity information, wherein N is a positive integer;
wherein, under the condition that N is 1, the first terminal capability information is required terminal capability information;
and under the condition that N is greater than 1, the first terminal capacity information is the terminal capacity information acquired by inquiring the terminal capacity information each time.
Specifically, the network device determines the required terminal capability information about the target terminal according to its own needs, and determines the number of times of querying N required for querying the required terminal capability information, that is, determines that the required terminal capability information needs to be acquired through N queries.
In the case that N is 1, the network device obtains the required terminal capability information through the first terminal capability information, that is, obtains the terminal capability information required by the network device through one-time obtaining.
Under the condition that N is greater than 1, the network equipment needs to acquire the required terminal capability information for N times, namely the network equipment acquires the terminal capability information obtained by inquiring the terminal capability information for the 1 st time, stores the terminal capability information obtained by inquiring the terminal capability information for the 1 st time in the network equipment, and sends the terminal capability information to the EPC after being combined with the second terminal capability information; then the network equipment acquires the terminal capability information obtained by inquiring the terminal capability information for the 2 nd time, stores the terminal capability information obtained by inquiring the terminal capability information for the 2 nd time in the network equipment, and sends the terminal capability information to the EPC after merging with the second terminal capability information; and repeating the steps until the terminal capability information obtained by inquiring the terminal capability information for the Nth time is obtained, storing the terminal capability information obtained by inquiring the terminal capability information for the Nth time in the network equipment, combining the terminal capability information with the second terminal capability information and sending the combined terminal capability information to the EPC, so that the problems of long transmission delay, large transmission flow, easiness in losing the terminal capability information and the like caused by one-time inquiry and transmission of various terminal capability information can be avoided.
As an optional embodiment, the step 101 of acquiring the first terminal capability information of the target terminal specifically includes:
step A1, sending first terminal capability query information to the target terminal.
Specifically, the network device sends first terminal capability query information to the target terminal, so that the target terminal can query the corresponding terminal capability according to the first terminal capability query information.
And step A2, receiving first terminal capability information fed back by the target terminal according to the first terminal capability query information.
Specifically, after the network device sends the first terminal capability query information to the target terminal, the target terminal queries corresponding terminal capability information according to the first terminal capability query information, and reports the queried terminal capability information (i.e., the first terminal capability information) to the network device.
When N is greater than 1, the network device needs to acquire the required terminal capability information N times, that is, the network device sends first terminal capability query information, acquires corresponding first terminal capability information fed back by the target terminal, stores the first terminal capability information in the network device, and sends the first terminal capability information to the EPC after merging processing with the second terminal capability information; then the network equipment sends the second-time terminal capability query information, acquires the corresponding second-time first terminal capability information fed back by the target terminal, stores the second-time first terminal capability information in the network equipment, and sends the second-time first terminal capability information to the EPC after being combined with the second terminal capability information; by analogy, until the corresponding nth first terminal capability information fed back by the target terminal is obtained, the nth first terminal capability information is stored in the network equipment, and is sent to the EPC after being combined with the second terminal capability information, so that the problems of long transmission delay, large transmission flow, easiness in losing the terminal capability information and the like caused by one-time query and transmission of various terminal capability information can be solved.
For example: and under the condition that N is greater than 1, after the network equipment sends first terminal capacity query information for the first time to the target terminal, the network equipment detects whether first terminal capacity information for the first time corresponding to the first terminal capacity query information for the first time is received. If the network device does not receive the first terminal capability information for the first time, the network device may stop sending the first terminal capability query information, that is, no longer obtain the terminal capability information; if the network equipment receives the first terminal capacity information for the first time, the network equipment stores the first terminal capacity information for the first time, combines the first terminal capacity information for the first time with the second terminal capacity information, sends the combined first terminal capacity information and the second terminal capacity information to the EPC, continues to send first terminal capacity query information for the second time to the target terminal, detects whether the first terminal capacity information for the second time corresponding to the first terminal capacity query information for the second time is received, and so on until the first terminal capacity information for the Nth time is obtained, the network equipment does not send the first terminal capacity query information to the target terminal any more.
In the embodiment, the first terminal capability query information is sent in batches, and the first terminal capability information of the target terminal is acquired in batches, so that the data volume transmitted each time is small, the transmission requirement for acquiring the required terminal capability information at one time is less, and the transmission delay can be reduced. Moreover, the stored second terminal capability information is updated and stored after the first terminal capability information is acquired every time, the storage size is easy to meet, and the utilization rate of the memory can be improved.
As an optional embodiment, the first terminal capability query information includes: and inquiring the indication information of the terminal capability and/or the carrier capability configuration information.
Specifically, when the first terminal capability query information sent by the network device includes the indication information for querying the terminal capability, the indication information is used for indicating which terminal capabilities are queried by the target terminal, so that the increase of data processing, data and storage management requirements caused by the query of the terminal capabilities is avoided, and the increase of time delay is avoided. When the first terminal capability query information sent by the network device includes the carrier capability configuration information, the target terminal only needs to query the carrier capability related to or supported at this time, and does not need to query other carrier capabilities, thereby avoiding unnecessary carrier capability query.
As an optional embodiment, the information indicative of the capability of the querying terminal includes at least one of:
the first item: indicating and inquiring indication information of universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access, UTRA) capability of the target terminal;
the second term is: indicating and inquiring indication information of evolved universal mobile communication system terrestrial radio access network (EUTRA) capability of the target terminal;
the third item: indicating and inquiring indication information of the terrestrial wireless access EUTRA-new air interface NR capability of the evolved universal mobile telecommunications system of the target terminal;
the fourth item: indicating and inquiring indication information of the new air interface NR capability of the target terminal;
the fifth item: indicating information for querying Global System for Mobile communication (GSM)/Enhanced Data Rate for GSM Evolution (EDGE) radio access network GERAN-Circuit Switched (CS) capability of the target terminal;
the sixth item: and indicating and inquiring the indication information of the GERAN-Packet Switching (PS) capability of the GSM/EDGE radio access network of the target terminal.
Specifically, the indication information for querying the terminal capability in the N times of first terminal capability query information sent by the network device may indicate to query different terminal capabilities or query the same terminal capability.
As an optional embodiment, the step A1 of sending the first terminal capability query information to the target terminal specifically includes:
and if the target terminal is a terminal initially accessed to the network equipment, sending first terminal capability query information to the target terminal.
Specifically, if a target terminal sends a request for communication connection to a network device, and the network device responds to the request and establishes communication connection with the target terminal, the target terminal is a terminal initially accessing the network device, and after the communication connection is established, the network device sends first terminal capability query information to the target terminal, so as to obtain terminal capability information of the target terminal required by the network device.
As shown in fig. 2, the above embodiment is described in detail by taking the value of N as 3:
step 21, determining a target terminal as an initially accessed terminal; specifically, the target terminal sends a request for communication connection to the network device, and the network device responds to the request and establishes communication connection with the target terminal, thereby determining that the target terminal is a terminal initially accessing the network device.
Step 22, performing a first terminal capability query on the target terminal; specifically, the network device sends first terminal capability query information to the target terminal, where the first terminal capability query information includes: the method comprises the steps of inquiring indication information of terminal capability for the first time and first-time carrier capability configuration information, wherein the indication information of the terminal capability for the first time indicates a target terminal to inquire the EUTRA capability, and the first-time carrier capability configuration information configures the carrier capability supported by the EUTRA capability for the first time. After the target terminal inquires the EUTRA capability, the target terminal reports first terminal capability information (namely the EUTRA capability information) inquired for the first time to the network equipment.
Step 23, combining the first terminal capability information and the second terminal capability information to obtain first target terminal capability information, and updating the second terminal capability information; specifically, the first terminal capability information acquired each time and the stored second terminal capability information are merged to obtain first target terminal capability information, and the second terminal capability information is updated according to the first terminal capability information.
And 24, reporting the first target terminal capability information to an Evolved Packet Core (EPC).
Step 25, carrying out a second terminal capability query on the target terminal; specifically, if the network device receives the first terminal capability information for the first time and after steps 23 and 24, the network device sends the first terminal capability query information for the second time to the target terminal, where the first terminal capability query information for the second time includes: and the second time of inquiring the indication information of the terminal capability and the second time of carrier capability configuration information, the indication information of the second time of inquiring the terminal capability indicates that the target terminal inquires EUTRA capability, UTRA capability, GERAN-CS capability and GERAN-PS capability, and the second time of carrier capability configuration information configures the second time of inquiring the EUTRA capability, UTRA capability, GERAN-CS capability and the carrier capability supported by the GERAN-PS capability. After the target terminal inquires the EUTRA capability, the UTRA capability, the GERAN-CS capability and the GERAN-PS capability, the target terminal reports the first terminal capability information inquired for the second time (namely information about the EUTRA capability, the UTRA capability, the GERAN-CS capability and the GERAN-PS capability) to the network equipment.
