The impurities mainly depend on the composition of the raw material phosphoric acid, and are sulfate radicals, fluosilicate radicals, fluoride ions, and salts or double salts consisting of iron, aluminum, magnesium, potassium, sodium, calcium and the like.
Potassium nitrate, being a nitrate of potassium, of the formula KNO 3 (Potassium nitrate is an ionic compound and has no molecule, so there is no molecular weight, only formula weight). The appearance was a clear colorless or white powder, tasteless, and specific gravity (water = 1) of 2.11. The solubility in water was 13g/100mL (depending on the temperature, the higher the solubility, the more pronounced the change in potassium nitrate solubility among the chemicals is). Has lower deliquescence than sodium nitrate and has a salt taste stimulated by cooling. Dissolved in water and slightly dissolved in ethanol. Physical properties: the characteristics are as follows: colorless transparent prismatic or white particles or crystalline powders. Pungent and salty taste with cool feeling. Potassium nitrate is slightly deliquescent, and the deliquescence is smaller than that of sodium nitrate. Solubility: is easily soluble in water, and insoluble in anhydrous alcohol and diethyl ether. When dissolved in water, the solution absorbs heat and the temperature of the solution decreases.
Potassium sulfate is a salt consisting of sulfate ions and potassium ions, and is usually colorless or white crystals, granules, or powder. No smell, bitter taste. Is hard. The chemical properties are inactive. Is stable in air. The density was 2.66g/cm. Melting point 1069 ℃. The aqueous solution is neutral and has a pH of about 7 at room temperature. 1g is soluble in 8.3ml water, 4ml boiling water, 75ml glycerol, and insoluble in ethanol.
