Embodiment
Below in conjunction with accompanying drawing, structural principle of the present invention and principle of work are described in detail:
Referring to Fig. 2 A and Fig. 2 B, its be according to an embodiment of the invention autostereoscopic display apparatus at the structural representation of surrounding time point. The disclosed autostereoscopic display apparatus according to the present invention, can provide multiple vision areas at a viewpoint end, and each vision area has a corresponding viewpoint. The visual angle difference of each viewpoint. The number of viewpoint represents that the image information of the picture that has corresponding number is as the source of stereopsis image content.
In the present embodiment, the plurality of viewpoint (vision area) is to be positioned in a plane parallel with three-dimensional display, but the invention is not restricted to this. The form of the plurality of vision area, such as width, position, arrangement mode and with the distance of three-dimensional display only in order to illustrate, its arrangement mode is not as long as continuously, be restricted to a straight line or circular arc.The present embodiment is using a straight line as example. The distance B of viewpoint end and three-dimensional display can represent the distance of viewing and admiring of an audience and three-dimensional display.
3 d display device comprises a display panel PX and a liquid crystal lens layer 10.Liquid crystal lens layer 10 is arranged between display panel PX and viewpoint end, that is is arranged on display panel PX.Display panel PX comprises multiple pixels (pixel), and such as but not limited to pixel P1 and P2, the plurality of Pixel arrangement forms a matrix pattern.
Liquid crystal lens layer 10 comprises multiple liquid crystal lens unit.Liquid crystal lens unary system driven according to the voltage that applies and function on as lens. The image light that penetrates liquid crystal lens unit can selectively form a bidimensional image or a 3-dimensional image according to the voltage swing that is applied to liquid crystal lens layer 10.
Do not applying voltage or applying under the state of an enough voltage, the Liquid Crystal Molecules Alignment direction of liquid crystal lens unit is all identical, and refractive index is all the same, and therefore a focus function, only as a transport layer in function, is not had in liquid crystal lens unit. The light that display panel PX produces will directly penetrate liquid crystal lens layer, form the image of a two dimension. On the other hand, when applying under the state of multiple suitable voltage to liquid crystal lens jacket, the voltage applying forms asymmetric electric field by multi-electrode, can control by this direction of liquid crystal molecule and deviation light.
By the variation of refractive index in liquid crystal layer, liquid crystal lens unit can equivalence become the effect of an equivalent asymmetrical lens pillar.Liquid crystal lens unit can be divided into multiple liquid crystal lens 100 on column direction.Corresponding at least one pixel of each liquid crystal lens 100.Structure about liquid crystal lens 100 will be described below.
Please refer to shown in Fig. 4 A and Fig. 4 B, it is respectively sectional structure chart and the oblique view of single liquid crystal lens according to an embodiment of the invention.Liquid crystal lens 100 comprises a first substrate 110, a second substrate 111, multiple control electrode (such as but not limited to control electrode 120a and 120b), an electrode layer 121 and a liquid crystal layer 140.First substrate 110 is oppositely arranged with second substrate 111. Control electrode 120a and 120b are arranged on first substrate 110.Electrode layer 121 is arranged on second substrate 111.140 of liquid crystal layers are arranged between first substrate 110 and electrode layer 121.Length W1 between control electrode 120a and 120b is the twice of the length W3 of control electrode 120a and 120b.The summation of length W1 and two length W3 is the length W2 of a liquid crystal lens. But above-described embodiment is not restriction of the present invention, that is relation between length W1 and W3 can design according to the quantity of control electrode.
Voltage DV1 between control electrode 120a and electrode layer 121 produces a corresponding electric field between control electrode 120a and electrode layer 121.This electric field controls is near the liquid crystal deflecting element of control electrode 120a end.Voltage DV2 between control electrode 120b and electrode layer 121 produces a corresponding electric field between control electrode 120b and electrode layer 121.This electric field controls is near the liquid crystal deflecting element of control electrode 120b end.
In the time that voltage DV1 equals voltage DV2, control electrode 120a is identical with the electric field between control electrode 120b and electrode layer 121 with the electric field between electrode layer 121, makes liquid crystal lens 100 identical near the Liquid Crystal Molecules Alignment of control electrode 120a and 120b.Now, liquid crystal lens 100 can equivalence become to have an equivalent symmetric lens EN2 of a radius-of-curvature, as shown in Figure 3.The parallel Y-axis of optical axis of this equivalent symmetric lens EN2.
In the time that voltage DV1 is not equal to voltage DV2, control electrode 120a is different from the electric field between control electrode 120b and electrode layer 121 with the electric field between electrode layer 121, make liquid crystal lens 100 also different near the Liquid Crystal Molecules Alignment of control electrode 120a and 120b, as Fig. 4 C.Now, change along with the deflection of liquid crystal molecule will make the refractive index of liquid crystal lens 100 produce, liquid crystal lens 100 can equivalence becomes to have an equivalent non-sym lens EN1 of a radius-of-curvature and a tiltangleθ, as shown in Figure 3.This tiltangleθ is the angle between optical axis AX and the Y-axis of equivalent non-sym lens EN1, that is equivalent symmetrical lens EN2 is with the angle of its central point Q rotation.
In the time that voltage DV1 is greater than voltage DV2, when light (image light L1, L2, L3 or L4) passes through non-equivalent liquid crystal lens, will be towards control electrode 120b end deviation. In the time that voltage DV1 is less than voltage DV2, light, will be towards control electrode 120a end deviation in the time passing through non-equivalent liquid crystal lens. The running that the above-mentioned variations in refractive index of utilizing liquid crystal lens 100 is controlled light path is as follows.
In one embodiment, 3 d display device set running at 120 hertz (Hz), and using left vision effect as explanation, as shown in Figure 2 A and 2 B.In this embodiment, corresponding two the pixel P1 of liquid crystal lens 100 and P2.Because liquid crystal lens 100 has eccentric characteristic, the image light that therefore pixel P1 and P2 send, such as but not limited to image light L1 to L4, via will producing different refraction effects after liquid crystal lens 100.
In the time of 1/120 second, image light L1 will be projected to the position of vision point B1 after penetrating liquid crystal lens 100, and image light L3 will be projected to the position of vision point B3 after penetrating liquid crystal lens 100, as shown in Figure 2 A.Then, in the time of 2/120 second, image light L2 will be projected to the position of vision point B2 after penetrating liquid crystal lens 100, and image light L4 will be projected to the position of vision point B4 after penetrating liquid crystal lens 100, as shown in Figure 2 B.Running afterwards by that analogy.
But, the above embodiments are not restriction of the present invention, enforcement category of the present invention also can be applicable to the frequency by adjusting 3 d display device running, reach the in the situation that of equal resolution, improve the object of viewpoint number, or in the situation that same viewpoint is counted, put forward high-resolution object, as shown in Table 2.
Table two
Frequency (Hz) | The number of pixel | Radius | Angle of inclination | Viewpoint number | Resolution |
120 | 1 | 0.152 | ±1.09 | 2 | 1920 |
120 | 2 | 2.12 | ±1.09 | 4 | 960 |
120 | 3 | 2.14 | ±1.09 | 6 | 640 |
