Abstract
The invention provides a method and devices for modifying domain configuration information of a multi-spanning tree domain. The method configures a packet in the MST domain, meanwhile, all the devicesin the MST domain all re-send the newly modified domain configuration information after delaying a period of time, and all the devices all judge the received MSTP packet carrying the new and the olddomain configuration information as the packet in the MST domain after a period of time of modifying the domain configuration information, thereby reducing the occurrence of network topology oscillation and improving the service quality of a network.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the technical field of Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), and in particular, to a method and device for modifying domain configuration of a Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) domain.
Background
MSTP is a new spanning tree protocol defined in IEEE 802.1 s. MSTP introduces the concept of "domain", which divides a switched network into Multiple MST domains (Multiple Spanning Tree Regions). The MST domain is formed by multiple devices in the switching network and network segments between them, and these devices are physically connected by links.
MSTP can implement VLAN-based load sharing within a domain, which requires that the domain configuration information for each device within the domain must be the same. The domain configuration information includes the mapping of domain names, MSTP revision levels, VLANs, and spanning tree instances. As shown in fig. 1, both device a and device B in the same MST domain have the following domain configuration information:
domain name: aaa;
MSTP revision level: 0;
mapping relation of VLAN and spanning tree example:
VLAN 3-VLAN 4094, all map to spanning tree instance 0;
VLAN 1 is mapped to spanning tree instance 1;
VLAN 2 is mapped to spanning tree instance 2;
by adjusting the parameters of each spanning tree instance, the spanning tree instance 1 can be blocked at the port 4, the spanning tree instance 2 can be blocked at the port 3, and load sharing based on VLAN can be realized.
In fig. 1, a device a and a device B periodically interact a MSTP Bridge Protocol Data Unit (BPDU) packet (hereinafter, referred to as an MSTP packet) carrying domain configuration information of the device a, for example, the device a receives the MSTP packet sent by the device B, acquires the domain configuration information of the device B contained in the MSTP packet, and determines that the MSTP packet is a packet from the same MST domain if the domain configuration information is the same as the domain configuration information of the device a itself.
In the prior art, if the domain configuration of the MST domain is to be modified (for example, the domain name is modified to bbb corresponding to fig. 1, or a mapping between spanning tree instance 3 and VLAN 3 is added), the same modification is required to be performed on the domain configuration information on each device in the domain. After the domain configuration information of the device a in fig. 1 is changed, the device a periodically sends MSTP messages that carry the modified domain configuration information of the device a, and after receiving the MSTP messages, the device B determines that the domain configuration information of the device a is different from the domain configuration information of the device B, so that the MSTP messages are considered to be messages from outside the domain, the device a is an outside-domain device, and further, the port role and the port state of the device are caused to change, and the network topology oscillates. After the domain configuration information of the device B is modified, the device B considers the device a as an intra-domain device again, so that the network topology oscillates again, and finally, the topology state before the domain configuration information is modified is recovered.
It can be seen that the method for modifying domain configuration in the prior art will cause oscillation of network topology, which may cause interruption of running service, and seriously affect the service quality of the network.

Detailed Description
The invention provides a method and a device for modifying domain configuration information of an MST domain, wherein in a period of time after the domain configuration information is modified, the device considers that MSTP messages carrying new and old domain configuration information are all received MSTP messages to be intra-domain messages, thereby reducing network topology oscillation caused by the modification of the domain configuration information, further reducing services influenced by the topology oscillation and improving the service quality of a network. The invention will be further described by means of specific embodiments with reference to the attached drawings.
< example 1>
This embodiment illustrates the invention by the specific actions of two devices within the MST domain. The first device is a device which actively initiates domain configuration information modification, and the second device is any device which responds to a domain configuration message of the first device and modifies the domain configuration information.
Referring to fig. 2, the method for modifying the domain configuration information of the MST domain according to this embodiment, when applied to the first device, includes:
step 21, when the user needs to modify the domain configuration, for example, the user needs to modify the domain configuration information from the current first domain configuration information to the second domain configuration information, and the second domain configuration information is input to the first device. After receiving the second domain configuration information input by the user, the first device performs the following actions:
firstly, according to the second domain configuration information, modifying the domain configuration information of the user. Here, the first device modifies the own domain configuration information from the original first domain configuration information to the second domain configuration information. For example, the domain name in the self-domain configuration information is modified from "aaa" to "bbb", or a mapping relationship between a spanning tree instance and a VLAN is added to the self-domain configuration information.
Broadcasting a domain configuration message to other devices in the MST domain, wherein the domain configuration message comprises first domain configuration information before modification of the first device domain configuration information and modified second domain configuration information. Here, the domain configuration packet is a data packet customized in this embodiment.
There is no mandatory requirement for execution order between the first and second actions. The first device may modify the domain configuration information according to the second domain configuration information after sending the domain configuration packet; or after modifying the self domain configuration information according to the second domain configuration information, sending the domain configuration message.
The broadcasting of the domain configuration message in the first action may be performed in a hardware manner, or may be performed in a software hop-by-hop forwarding manner.
For example, in a hardware broadcast, each device in the MST domain is configured with a predetermined VLAN in advance, and the first device sends the domain configuration packet in the predetermined VLAN in a two-layer (data link layer) broadcast manner, so that other devices in the MST domain can receive the domain configuration packet.
The software broadcasting means that any device receiving the domain configuration message reports the domain configuration message to a CPU for processing, and compares whether the first domain configuration information in the domain configuration message is the same as the domain configuration information of the device: if yes, forwarding the domain configuration message through other ports except for a receiving port of the domain configuration message; otherwise, discarding the domain configuration message.
Referring to fig. 3, when the method for modifying the domain configuration information of the MST domain is applied to the second device, the method includes:
And step 34, when the domain configuration information of the second device is different from the first domain configuration information, discarding the domain configuration message, and ending the process.
The specific steps of the method for modifying the domain configuration of the MST domain according to the embodiment when applied to the first device and the second device are described above.
As can be seen from the above flow, in this embodiment, in the first time after the device modifies its own domain configuration information, what is carried in the MSTP message sent is the domain configuration information before modification (first domain configuration information), instead of the domain configuration information after modification (second domain configuration information). The purpose of this processing mode is: other devices which receive the MSTP message and do not modify the configuration information of the own domain can not judge that the MSTP message is an out-of-domain message, thereby avoiding the change of the port role and the port state of the device and reducing the occurrence of network topology oscillation. For this reason, after the first time, the MSTP message is normally sent according to the existing standard, that is, the MSTP message carries the current domain configuration information (that is, the second domain configuration information) of the device.
The specific value of the first time is set according to the size (such as the number of devices) of the MST domain. Preferably, the first time is greater than or equal to a maximum value of a message transmission delay between any two devices in the MST domain. The maximum value may be obtained by making a transmission delay measurement of the MST domain. Of course, the first time may also be smaller than the maximum value, and at this time, the present embodiment may reduce, to a certain extent, the possibility that the intra-domain device receives the MSTP packet whose domain configuration information is inconsistent with the domain configuration information of the intra-domain device, so as to reduce, to a certain extent, the occurrence of network topology oscillation.
In this embodiment, the device determines, within a second time after modifying the domain configuration information of the device itself, that the received MSTP packet carrying the first domain configuration information or the second domain configuration information is the packet in the MST domain, and determines, until after the second time, whether the received MSTP packet is the packet in the MST domain according to the domain configuration information of the device itself and according to a determination manner in the prior art. The purpose of this processing mode is: the MST domain may have a device that has not modified its own domain configuration information, and may also have a device that has modified its own domain configuration information according to the domain configuration packet, so that a certain device in the MST domain may receive the MSTP packet carrying the first domain configuration information and may also receive the MSTP packet carrying the second domain configuration information.
Fig. 5 illustrates one method of how the second time is determined. An extreme case is illustrated in fig. 5, and the processing delay of the device is not taken into account. It is assumed that the first time is a maximum value of the packet transmission delay between any two devices in the MST domain (denoted by "T" in fig. 5), and it is assumed that the packet transmission time between the first and second devices is equal to the maximum value T. The method comprises the steps that a domain configuration message sent by first equipment needs T time when reaching second equipment, and after the second equipment modifies the domain configuration of the second equipment, the second equipment continuously sends an MSTP message of the T time, wherein the MSTP message carries first domain configuration information; therefore, the first device needs to judge the received MSTP message carrying the first domain configuration information or the second domain configuration information as an intra-domain message within at least 3T after the self domain configuration is modified. That is, in this embodiment, preferably, the second time may be set to be greater than or equal to three times the maximum value of the message transmission delay between any two devices in the MST domain. Of course, even if the second time is less than three times the maximum value, the present embodiment may still reduce, to a certain extent, the possibility that the MSTP packet whose domain configuration information is inconsistent with the own domain configuration information is received between the devices, so that the occurrence of network topology oscillation may also be reduced to a certain extent.
In this embodiment, specific values of the first time and the second time may be pre-configured on each device in the MST domain; the domain configuration packet sent by the first device may further include timing information indicating the first time and the second time, so that each device receiving the domain configuration packet may determine the first time and the second time according to the timing information in the domain configuration packet. In specific implementation, each device may further set a timer, start the timer to start timing the first and second times after modifying the domain configuration information of the device, and perform corresponding processing according to a timing value.
As can be seen from the above description, in this embodiment, the second device sends the domain configuration packet in a broadcast manner after modifying the domain configuration of the second device, so that other devices in the same MST domain can acquire the domain configuration modification information as soon as possible, and further modify the domain configuration of the second device. And each device in the MST domain still sends the MSTP message carrying the configuration information of the first domain in the first time after modifying the configuration of the self domain from the first configuration information to the second configuration information, and judges the received MSTP message carrying the configuration information of the first domain and the second domain as the message in the MST domain in the second time after modifying the configuration of the self domain, thereby reducing the change of the role/state of the device port caused by the inconsistency of the configuration information of the domains and reducing the occurrence of network topology oscillation. The embodiment can reduce the interruption of the running service when modifying the MST domain configuration of the existing network, thereby improving the service quality of the network.
Based on the above method for modifying the domain configuration information of the MST domain, this embodiment also correspondingly provides a device in the MST domain. As shown in fig. 5, the apparatus includes: the system comprises a domain configuration message receiving unit, a first domain configuration modification unit, an MSTP message sending and processing unit and an MSTP message receiving and processing unit; wherein,
the domain configuration message receiving unit is configured to receive a first domain configuration message broadcast by other devices in the MST domain, where the first domain configuration message includes first domain configuration information and second domain configuration information before and after the domain configuration information of the other devices is modified; when the domain configuration information of the device is the same as the first domain configuration information in the first domain configuration message, triggering the first domain configuration modification unit;
the first domain configuration modifying unit is used for modifying the domain configuration information of the first domain configuration modifying unit into the second domain configuration information;
the MSTP message sending and processing unit is configured to, within a predetermined first time after domain configuration information of the device is modified, carry the first domain configuration information in a MSTP message sent by the device, and, after the first time, carry the second domain configuration information in the MSTP message sent by the device;
the MSTP message receiving and processing unit is configured to, within a predetermined second time after modification of the device domain configuration information, determine, as a message in the MST domain, all received MSTP messages carrying the first domain configuration information or the second domain configuration information.
Preferably, the MSTP message receiving and processing unit is further configured to, after the second time after the modification of the domain configuration information of the device, determine whether the received MSTP message is a message in the MST domain according to whether the domain configuration information carried by the received MSTP message is the same as the domain configuration information of the device.
Preferably, the domain configuration packet receiving unit is further configured to discard the domain configuration packet when the domain configuration information of the device is different from the first domain configuration information in the first domain configuration packet.
Preferably, the first time is greater than or equal to a maximum value of a message transmission delay between any two devices in the MST domain, and the second time is greater than or equal to three times the maximum value of the message transmission delay between any two devices in the MST domain.
In addition, the device shown in fig. 5 may also receive third domain configuration information input by the user, modify the own domain configuration, and then broadcast the relevant information to other devices in the MST domain. At this time, the apparatus shown in fig. 5 may further include:
the second domain configuration modification unit is used for receiving third domain configuration information input by a user and modifying the domain configuration information of the second domain configuration modification unit into the third domain configuration information;
a domain configuration message sending unit, configured to broadcast a second domain configuration message to other devices in the MST domain, where the second domain configuration message includes the current domain configuration information and the third domain configuration information before and after the device modifies.
Finally, the present embodiment also provides another device in the MST domain, where the device broadcasts a corresponding domain configuration packet to the MST domain after modifying its domain configuration information. As shown in fig. 6, the apparatus includes:
a domain configuration message sending unit, configured to broadcast a domain configuration message to other devices in the MST domain, where the domain configuration message includes first domain configuration information and second domain configuration information before and after modification of the device;
the domain configuration modifying unit is used for modifying the domain configuration information of the domain according to the second domain configuration information;
an MSTP message sending and processing unit, configured to carry, in a predetermined first time after domain configuration information of the device is modified, the first domain configuration information in a MSTP message sent by the device, and carry, after the first time, the second domain configuration information in the MSTP message sent by the device;
the MSTP message receiving and processing unit is used for judging the received MSTP messages carrying the first domain configuration information or the second domain configuration information as the messages in the MST domain within a preset second time after the domain configuration information of the equipment is modified; and after the second time after the equipment domain configuration information is modified, judging whether the received MSTP message is the message in the MST domain according to whether the domain configuration information carried by the received MSTP message is the same as the domain configuration information of the MSTP message.
< example 2
The present embodiment provides another method for modifying domain configuration information of an MST domain, as shown in fig. 7, including the following steps:
In the process of modifying the domain configuration information, the MSTP message received on the intra-domain port does not cause network topology oscillation, thereby improving the service quality of the network.
In summary, the present embodiment can reduce the change of the role/state of the device port caused by the change of the domain configuration information, reduce the oscillation of the network topology, and improve the service quality of the network.
The foregoing is merely an embodiment of the present invention, and it should be noted that those skilled in the art can make various modifications and improvements without departing from the principle of the present invention, and such modifications and improvements should be considered as the protection scope of the present invention.
