Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an annular component for a container. In particular, the invention also relates to a cosmetic package comprising the container, and to a method for producing an annular component.
Background
Foundation solutions are widely used in the cosmetic field.
In order for a user to apply the foundation liquid uniformly and consistently, a sponge is used to absorb and store the foundation liquid. In effect, the sponge is saturated with foundation liquid and is placed in a chassis that is located within the base of the container. The user then gently touches and taps the sponge with the applicator to collect the foundation solution, which is then applied to the skin.
An annular stop ring is provided in the chassis which prevents the sponge from falling out of the chassis when the container is opened.
Furthermore, in order to avoid drying out of the foundation, it is desirable to provide a sealing ring between the cover of the chassis and the chassis itself.
However, the provision of a single annular stop ring and the provision of a single annular seal ring both require separate molds and respective assembly processes, which unnecessarily increase production costs. Furthermore, this increases the risk of misplacement or even dropping of the annular stop ring or annular seal ring when separate molds are used successively.
Also, integrally forming the annular stop ring and/or annular seal ring with the cover or chassis would still not reduce production costs, or would even conversely increase costs, as the mold for the cover and/or for the chassis would be relatively large, complex and would have to be redesigned.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide an annular component which solves at least the above mentioned problems. The annular component is for example a ring molded by over-molding. The overmolding (bi-injection molding) is also known as bi-injection molding or double injection molding or the like.
The overmolded ring according to the invention has two functions at the same time: as an annular stop ring (e.g. made of PP) to prevent the sponge from falling out of the chassis, and as an annular sealing ring (e.g. made of TPE) to form a seal between the cap and the chassis and thereby prevent the foundation liquid from drying.
According to one aspect of the present invention, an annular component for a container is provided, comprising a stopper ring and a sealing ring,
wherein the stop ring comprises a ring body and a stop extending from the ring body towards the center of the annular member; and is also provided with

The annular member 4 includes a stop ring 110 and a seal ring 120, wherein the stop ring 110 includes a ring body 112 and a stop 111. The stop 111 extends from the ring body 112 towards the centre of the annular member 4 and inwardly beyond the opening of the chassis 5. Preferably, the diameter of the center hole of the stopper 111 is smaller than the diameter of the absorber that is accommodated in the accommodation space 508 of the chassis body 51, thereby being able to block the absorber from falling out of the accommodation space 508. The stop 111 may for example be in the form of a flat ring in a horizontal plane.
Fig. 6 shows a partially enlarged view of the inner container of the cosmetic package 10 in an assembled state. The part shown in fig. 6 corresponds to the part shown in fig. 5.
The ring body 112 of the stop ring 110 of the ring member 4 includes a first portion 1121 and a second portion 1122.
The first portion 1121 of the ring body 112 has the shape of a cylinder from one end of which the stop 111 extends, in particular from the upper end of which towards the centre of the annular member 4. The second portion 1122 of the ring body 112 is connected to the sealing ring 120 of the ring member 4. The second portion 1122 includes a transition section 1122a extending from the first portion 1121 and a connecting section 1122b connected to the sealing ring 120.
Referring to fig. 5 and 6, the ring body 112 and the seal ring 120 together define an annular groove 113. Annular groove 113 is generally U-shaped in cross section and includes an inner peripheral wall, an outer peripheral wall, and a bottom wall. The inner peripheral wall of annular groove 113 is formed by first portion 1121 of ring body 112 and the outer peripheral wall is formed by connecting segment 1122b of sealing ring 120 with second portion 1122 of ring body 112. And the bottom wall of annular groove 113 connecting the inner and outer peripheral walls is formed by transition 1122a of second portion 1122 of ring body 112. In this case, the annular groove 113 has a substantially U-shaped cross section, and the peripheral wall closer to the center of the annular member 4 is an inner peripheral wall, and the peripheral wall farther from the center of the annular member 4 is an outer peripheral wall.
Referring to fig. 6, a first portion 1121 of the collar body 112 is adapted to be secured to the neck of the chassis 5 of the inner container. The neck portion of the chassis 5 is formed by the upper portion of the cylindrical portion 511. Preferably, the first portion 1121 is provided with an inner convex portion 1121a and the neck of the chassis 5 is provided with an outer concave portion 511a. The outer concave portion 511a has a shape complementary to the inner convex portion 1121 a. However, it will be appreciated that it is alternatively possible that the first portion 1121 of the collar body 112 and the neck of the chassis 5 are provided with complementary recesses and protrusions, respectively.
According to the present embodiment, the stopper ring 110 and the seal ring 120 are formed as a single piece by overmolding, whereby the annular member 4 having both the stopper function and the sealing function is obtained at low cost. However, it will be appreciated that the seal ring 120 and the stop ring 110 may alternatively be connected by other means, such as by adhesive. Preferably, the interface between the sealing ring 120 and the stop ring 110 includes a step 170, as shown in FIG. 6. In this way, the sealing ring 120 and the stopper ring 110 can have a larger contact area, and thus the connection therebetween will be more firm.
Referring to fig. 6, the seal ring 120 has a first side 1201 and a second side 1202. The first side 1201 and the second side 1202 are opposite to each other and are adapted to be abutted by the lid 3 and the bottom plate 5 of the container, respectively, such that the sealing ring 120 provides an airtight seal between the lid 3 and the bottom plate 5. The distance between the first side 1201 and the second side 1202, i.e. the thickness of the sealing ring 120, may be slightly larger than the distance between the engagement cylinder 311 of the lid 3 and the outer sleeve 53 in the closed state, so that the sealing ring 120 will be compressively deformed when the lid 3 closes the chassis 5, providing a better airtight sealing.
Preferably, the hardness of the stopper ring 110 is higher than the hardness of the sealing ring 120. The higher hardness of the stop ring 110 makes it easier to block the absorbent member stored in the chassis 5, while the lower hardness of the sealing ring 120 provides a good seal between the sealing cover 3 and the chassis 5. The stop ring 110 may be made of polypropylene, for example, and the seal ring 120 may be made of a thermoplastic elastomer, for example.
The engaging cylinder 311 of the lid 3 of the container has an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the sealing ring 120. In this way, the gasket 120 is deformed by the compression of the engaging cylinder 311 when the cover 3 is closed, so as to perform a better sealing function.
The chassis 5 is provided with an annular recess 52 (see fig. 5 and 6) of substantially U-shaped cross section for receiving the annular member 4. The annular recess 52 has an inner wall and an outer wall, said first portion 1121 of the ring body 112 of the stopper ring 110 of said annular member 4 being fixed to the inner wall of said annular recess 52, and the sealing ring 120 of the annular member 4 being pressed against the outer wall of the annular recess 52 of said chassis 5 by the engaging cylinder 311 of the cover 3 in a state in which the chassis 5 is closed by the cover 3. In this case, the wall of the annular recess 52, which is located closer to the center of the annular member 4, is an inner wall, and the wall located farther from the center of the annular member 4 is an outer wall, in a substantially U-shaped cross section.
The annular member 4 may be manufactured by a method comprising:
providing a mold assembly comprising a first mold, a second mold, and a third mold;
assembling the first mold and the second mold to form a first cavity;
injecting a first material into the first chamber to form a stop ring 110 of the annular member 4;
replacing the second mold with the third mold to form a second chamber;
injecting a second material into the second chamber to form a seal ring 120 of the annular member 4, wherein the seal ring 120 is integral with the stopper ring 110; and
the annular part 4 is released from the first and third moulds in one piece.
According to the above-described embodiment, the seal ring 120 and the stopper ring 110 are integrally formed by injection molding or over-molding, however, it is understood that the seal ring 120 and the stopper ring 110 may be combined together by assembly.
The invention has been described above with reference to embodiments, but it should be noted that the above-described embodiments are illustrative rather than limiting. The individual technical features described in the embodiments described above can be combined and used arbitrarily in different embodiments without contradiction. And those skilled in the art will recognize that many changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and that such changes are intended to be encompassed within the scope of the present invention.
