Preferred embodiments of the present invention are shown in the drawings. This invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete.
It will be understood that when an element is referred to as being "secured to" another element, it can be directly on the other element or intervening elements may also be present. When an element is referred to as being "connected" to another element, it can be directly connected to the other element or intervening elements may also be present. The terms "inner", "outer", "left", "right" and the like as used herein are for illustrative purposes only and do not represent the only embodiments.
Referring to fig. 1 and 2, a display module 10 applied to a mobile terminal 20 includes a display screen 400, a cover plate 100, a shielding layer 200, and a light blocking layer 300. The display panel 400 includes a display area 420 and a non-display area 410, the display area 420 can emit light, the non-display area 410 is a driving circuit structure (the driving circuit structure is used for driving pixels in the display area 420 to emit light), the non-display area 410 cannot emit light, and the non-display area 410 forms what is commonly called a black border. The Display 400 may be an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) or an OLCD (Organic Light-emitting diode) Display.
Referring to fig. 2, the cover plate 100 may be a glass cover plate, that is, the cover plate 100 is made of a glass material. The cover plate 100 is stacked on the display panel 400, and for example, the cover plate 100 is attached to the display panel 400 by an OCA cement layer 600(Optically Clear Adhesive). The cover plate 100 includes a transparent portion 120 and a frame portion 110, an imaginary line 11 perpendicular to the display panel 400 is defined by an inner edge of the shielding layer 200, a portion between the two imaginary lines 11 (where the shielding layer 200 is not attached) is the transparent portion 120, and a portion outside the two imaginary lines 11 (where the shielding layer 200 is attached) is the frame portion 110, and in fact, a coverage of the shielding layer 200 on the cover plate 100 defines a range of the frame portion 110. The frame portion 110 is connected to the periphery of the transparent portion 120, that is, the frame portion 110 is connected around the edge of the transparent portion 120, for example, the transparent portion 120 may be substantially rectangular, and the frame portion 110 may be substantially annular. The transparent part 120 has translucency, and light emitted from the display screen 400 can be transmitted through the transparent part 120, so that an image displayed on the display screen 400 can be seen through the transparent part 120. Due to the combined action of the shielding layer 200 and the light blocking layer 300, the light emitted from the display screen 400 cannot be transmitted through the frame portion 110, and therefore, the user cannot see the image displayed on the display screen 400 from the frame portion 110. The vertical projection of the bezel portion 110 on the display screen 400 covers the entire non-display area 410.
The shielding layer 200 is substantially a ring structure, the shielding layer 200 has a color, an inner edge of the shielding layer 200 is connected to an edge of the transparent portion 120, the shielding layer 200 is attached to a surface of the cover plate 100 close to the display screen 400 (i.e., a lower surface or an inner surface of the frame portion 110), and the shielding layer 200 covers all of the frame portion 110, i.e., the shielding layer 200 is attached to all of a lower surface (an inner surface) of the frame portion 110. Since the vertical projection of the bezel portion 110 on the display screen 400 covers the entire non-display area 410, the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 also covers the entire non-display area 410 (black border). The luminousness of shielding layer 200 is less than 1%, and the relation that display screen 400 sent can't advance shielding layer 200 and transmit out, lights up when display screen 400, when the user observed towards display screen 400 direction from the upper surface (surface) of apron 100, shielding layer 200 under the effect of covering, the user can't observe the non-display area 410 (black edge) that is located the display screen 400 periphery, has eliminated the influence of black edge to the whole visual effect of display screen 400, has improved the user experience of display screen 400 subassembly. Meanwhile, the shielding layer 200 has a color, and the frame portion 110 will have the same color as the shielding layer 200 under the supporting effect of the shielding layer 200.
The light blocking layer 300 is substantially a ring structure, and the light blocking layer 300 is attached to a surface of the shielding layer 200 close to the display screen 400, that is, attached to the lower surface of the shielding layer 200; meanwhile, the light-blocking layer 300 is stacked and connected on the upper surface of the non-display area 410, and the light-blocking layer 300 only covers part of the non-display area 410, that is, there is a little distance between the inner edge of the light-blocking layer 300 and the inner edge of the non-display area 410, since the vertical projection of the frame part 110 on the display screen 400 covers the whole non-display area 410, the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 will cover the vertical projection of the whole light-blocking layer 300 on the display screen 400. Due to the absorption and reflection of the light blocking layer 300, the light emitted from the display screen 400 cannot leak out of the frame part 110 through the shielding layer 200, and the light leakage prevention capability and the black edge covering effect of the shielding layer 200 are improved. Meanwhile, the light blocking layer 300 provides a good contrast effect for the color of the shielding layer 200, so that the color of the shielding layer 200 is more vivid, and the frame portion 110 presents a more vivid color.
Referring to fig. 2, the optical element 500 is disposed on a side of the cover plate 100 facing the display screen 400, the display screen 400 emits an incident light beam 402 toward the cover plate 100, the incident light beam 402 passes through the optical element 500 and then transmits an emergent light beam 403 from the cover plate 100, the emergent light beam 403 is not perpendicular to the display screen 400, i.e., there is a certain inclination angle between the emergent light beam and the display screen 400, meanwhile, a reverse extension line 404 of the emergent light beam 403 intersects with the non-display area 410, and specifically, the reverse extension line 404 intersects with the non-display area 410 which is not covered by the light blocking layer 300. When the display screen 400 is viewed from a direction perpendicular to the display screen 400, the non-display area 410 not covered by the light blocking layer 300 will not be visible to the naked eye by the hiding effect of the shielding layer 200. Meanwhile, the reverse extension line 404 of the emergent ray 403 intersects with the non-display area 410, the emergent ray 403 and the display screen 400 have an inclination angle different from 90 degrees, when the display screen 400 is observed by naked eyes along the emergent ray 403, the non-display area 410 also emits light, and the existence of black edges is ensured to be not visually perceived by the naked eyes. Therefore, when the display screen 400 is observed from the direction perpendicular to the display screen 400 and the direction not perpendicular to the display screen 400, the black edge cannot be seen, that is, the existence of the black edge is eliminated under multiple viewing angles, so that the user experience is greatly improved.
The optical element 500 includes a plurality of refraction unit bodies 510, and the plurality of refraction unit bodies 510 are distributed on the cover plate 100 at intervals, for example, the refraction unit bodies 510 are in a right triangular prism shape, and the inclined surface of the right triangular prism is disposed toward the display screen 400. The refraction unit plays a role in refracting light, when incident light 402 emitted perpendicular to the display screen 400 is refracted by the right-angle triangular prism to form emergent light 403, and a reverse extension line 404 of the emergent light 403 is intersected with the non-display area 410, so that the false appearance that the non-display area 410 emits light is formed, and the effect of eliminating the existence of black edges is achieved. Since a certain distance is maintained between the refraction unit bodies 510, the light emitted from the vertical display screen 400 will penetrate through the gaps between the refraction unit bodies 510 in the original direction, so that the user can see the image displayed on the display screen 400 clearly when viewing the display screen 400 from the direction perpendicular to the display screen 400.
The shielding layer 200 has a ring-shaped vertical projection on the display screen 400, the vertical projection has a first projection end 201, the first projection end 201 is actually a vertical projection of the inner edge of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400, and the first projection end 201 is close to the display area 420. There is a ring-shaped vertical projection of the light-blocking layer 300 on the display screen 400, the vertical projection has a second projection end 301, the second projection end 301 is actually a vertical projection of the inner edge of the light-blocking layer 300 on the display screen 400, and the second projection end 301 is close to the display area 420. The distance between the first projection end 201 and the second projection end 301 is A, wherein A is not less than 0.1mm and not more than 0.15 mm. For example, A has a value of 0.1mm, 0.12mm, 0.15mm, or the like. Since the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 covers the vertical projection of all the light blocking layers 300 on the display screen 400, the inner edge of the shielding layer 200 is closer to the center of the display area 420 than the inner edge of the light blocking layer 300, which can effectively avoid the phenomenon that the inner edge of the light blocking layer 300 is closer to the center of the display area 420 due to processing errors, and prevent the phenomenon that the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 cannot cover the vertical projection of all the light blocking layers 300 on the display screen 400 to generate a new black edge.
In some embodiments, the first projection end 201 is located at a junction 401 of the display region 420 and the non-display region 410 (the junction 401 coincides with an inner edge of the non-display region 410, an edge of the display region 420). Namely, the first projection end 201 is just flush with the inner edge of the non-display area 410, the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 only covers the non-display area 410, meanwhile, the vertical projection of the light blocking layer 300 on the display screen 400 does not cover the connection 401 of the display area 420 and the non-display area 410, namely, the light blocking layer 300 only covers the non-display area 410, the second projection end 301 is located in the non-display area 410, and the second projection end 301 keeps a certain distance from the inner edge of the non-display area 410.
In some embodiments, the junction 401 of the display region 420 and the non-display region 410 is located between the first projection end 201 and the second projection end 301, i.e., the inner edge of the non-display region 410 is located between the first projection end 201 and the second projection end 301. At this time, the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 covers the connection 401 between the display area 420 and the non-display area 410, that is, the vertical projection of the shielding layer 200 on the display screen 400 covers the whole non-display area 410 and a part of the display area 420, the first projection end 201 is located in the display area 420, and the first projection end 201 keeps a certain distance from the inner edge of the non-display area 410. Meanwhile, the light blocking layer 300 only covers a portion of the non-display region 410, the second projection end 301 is located in the non-display region 410, and the second projection end 301 keeps a certain distance from the inner edge of the non-display region 410. Similarly, when the cover plate 100 and the display screen 400 have a certain fitting error, the shielding layer 200 can effectively shield the non-display area 410, and the user cannot perceive the existence of the black border.
In some embodiments, the thickness of the shielding layer 200 is 20 μm to 24 μm, for example, the thickness of the shielding layer 200 may be 20 μm, 23 μm or 24 μm, so as to ensure the shielding effect of the shielding layer 200 on the non-display area 410, and ensure that the shielding layer 200 has a sufficiently vivid color. The thickness of the light shielding layer is 8 μm to 10 μm, for example, the thickness of the light shielding layer 200 may be 8 μm, 9 μm, or 110 μm.
In some embodiments, the shielding layer 200 is a white shielding layer 200, a blue shielding layer 200, a gray shielding layer 200, or the like. That is, the color of the shielding layer 200 may be white, blue, gray, or other colors, etc., according to the actual requirement. The shielding layer 200 may have a specific color and a specific pattern, and as shown in fig. 5 to 8, the shielding layer 200 may have a radial ring pattern 211, a stripe pattern 212, a corrugated pattern 213, a grid pattern 214, etc. according to the actual requirement, so as to improve the appearance decoration effect of the whole cover plate 100.
The outer edge of the shielding layer 200 and the outer edge of the light blocking layer 300 are flush with the edge of the cover plate 100, so that the whole display module 10 is convenient to assemble, the colors of all the positions of the shielding layer 200 are uniform, the consistent colors of all the positions of the frame part 110 are ensured, the light leakage prevention capability of the shielding layer 200 is ensured, and the light of the display screen 400 is effectively prevented from being transmitted out from the frame part 110.
In some embodiments, the masking layer 200 includes a first white ink film 210, a second white ink film 220, and a third white ink film 230. The first white ink film 210, the second white ink film 220, and the third white ink film 230 are substantially annular, and the outer edges of the three films are flush with the outer edge of the frame portion 110. The first white ink film 210 is attached to a surface of the frame portion 110 close to the display screen 400 (i.e., an inner surface of the frame portion 110), and the first white ink film 210 can just cover the entire inner surface of the frame portion 110, so as to ensure that the entire frame portion 110 is white and cannot transmit light emitted by the display screen 400. A second white ink film 220 is attached on the lower surface of the first white ink film 210, and a third white ink film 230 is attached on the lower surface of the second white ink film 220. Since the shielding layer 200 includes three white ink films, the white color displayed on the shielding layer 200 is more vivid, and of course, the number of the white ink films included in the shielding layer 200 may be one, two, four or more, and so on, as needed in the actual situation, referring to fig. 4.
The width of the first white ink film 210 is greater than the width of the second white ink film 220, and the width of the second white ink film 220 is greater than the width of the third white ink film 230, where the width is defined as the distance from the outer edge to the inner edge of each layer of white ink film. The second white ink film 220 covers only the lower surface of the first white ink film 210 portion, and similarly, the third white ink film 230 covers only the lower surface of the second white ink film 220 portion. Since the outer edges of the first white ink film 210, the second white ink film 220, and the third white ink film 230 are all flush with the outer edge of the frame portion 110, the inner edges of the three are not flush with each other, i.e., are stepped. The interval between the inward flange of first white ink film 210 and the inward flange of second white ink film 220 can be 0.1mm to 0.15mm, it is same, the interval between the inward flange of second white ink film 220 and the inward flange of third white ink film 230 also can be 0.1mm to 0.15mm, can effectually offset machining error like this, avoid the inward flange of the relative upper white ink film of inward flange of lower floor white ink film to bulge certain distance towards the direction of transparent portion 120, so as to guarantee that the width of the lower floor white ink film is not more than the width of upper white ink film after the laminating.
In some embodiments, the light blocking layer 300 is attached to the lower surface of the third white ink film 230, the light blocking layer 300 is a black ink film 310, and when the cover plate 100 and the display panel 400 are attached by an OCA Adhesive layer 600(Optically Clear Adhesive), the black ink film 310 is laminated on the non-display area 410. The black ink film 310 has a good light absorption effect, so that light emitted from the display screen 400 is prevented from being transmitted through the frame portion 110 of the cover plate 100, and the white color of the shielding layer 200 is more vivid. The outer edges of the black ink film 310, the first white ink film 210, the second white ink film 220, and the third white ink film 230 are all flush, and the width of the black ink film 310 is equal to the width of the second white ink film 220; therefore, the inner edge of the first white ink film 210 protrudes a certain distance towards the transparent part 120 relative to the inner edge of the black ink film 310, the distance between the inner edge of the first white ink film 210 and the inner edge of the black ink film 310 can be 0.1mm to 0.15mm, the width of the black ink film 310 after being attached can be ensured not to be larger than the width of the first white ink film 210, the projection of the black ink on the display screen 400 cannot be completely covered by the projection of the first white ink film 210 on the display screen 400, and therefore a new black edge phenomenon occurs.
Referring to fig. 4, there is a vertical projection of the display screen 400 on the cover plate 100, the vertical projection has two opposite third projection ends 411, the third projection ends 411 are actually projections of one pair of outer edges of the display screen 400 on the cover plate 100, and the distances from the two third projection ends 411 to the edges of the cover plate 100 are equal, that is, the cover plate 100 and the display screen 400 are aligned in a center (that is, the vertical projection of the symmetry axis of the cover plate 100 on the display screen 400 coincides with the symmetry axis of the display screen 400), so that the width of the display screen 400 is smaller than that of the cover plate 100, and the outer edges of the display screen 400 are not flush with the outer edges of the cover plate 100. The distance from the third projection end 411 to the edge of the cover plate 100 is B, where the distance B is equivalent to the distance between the edge of the display screen 400 and the edge of the cover plate 100, and the value range of B may be 0.2mm or more and 0.8mm or less, for example, the value of B may be 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.4mm or 0.8mm or more. After the cover plate 100 is aligned and attached to the display screen 400, a gap between the edge of the display screen 400 and the edge of the cover plate 100 may form a space for filling glue, which facilitates the attachment of the entire display module 10 to other components (e.g., the rear housing or the middle frame).
Referring to fig. 1 and fig. 2, the present invention further provides a mobile terminal 20, where the mobile terminal 20 includes the display module 10, the mobile terminal 20 may be a smart phone, and when the display screen 400 is turned on, a user cannot perceive black edges at multiple viewing angles, so as to ensure that the smart phone has good user experience.
