Abstract

The present invention relates to an ironing appliance comprising a steam generating base (3) and an iron connected to said steam generating base (3), said steam generating base (3) comprising a receptacle (6) and a supporting portion (7), said supporting portion (7) being arranged obliquely above said receptacle (6) and on which supporting portion (7) said iron can be placed during a non-operative stage of ironing. The support portion (7) comprises a viewing opening (13), the viewing opening (13) allowing the contents of the container (6) to be viewed when the iron is removed from the support portion (7).

Ironing equipment
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an ironing apparatus, and more particularly to a steam type ironing apparatus.
Background
The known document FR3028533 describes an ironing apparatus comprising a steam generating base and an iron connected to the steam generating base, the steam generating base comprising a removable container and a support portion arranged obliquely above the container and on which the iron can be placed during an inactive phase of ironing.
Advantageously, the container comprises a transparent or translucent outer peripheral wall so as to allow a user to visually confirm the level of liquid in the container when the user is on one side of the steam generating base.
However, such ironing devices do not allow the user to confirm the level of liquid in the tank when the user is facing the ironing device during the ironing work phase.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to overcome this drawback.
The technical problem of the present invention is therefore that of providing an ironing apparatus which is simple and economical in construction and which at the same time allows the user to conveniently observe the level of liquid in the tank during the ironing work phase.
The present invention therefore relates to an ironing apparatus comprising a steam generating base and an iron connected to the steam generating base, the steam generating base comprising a container and a support portion, the support portion being arranged obliquely above the container and on which the iron can be placed during a non-operative stage of ironing, the support portion comprising a viewing opening allowing the contents of the container to be viewed when the iron is removed from the support portion.
This configuration of the support portion, and more particularly the presence of the viewing opening, allows the user to conveniently and quickly view the level of liquid in the container through the viewing opening, and particularly when the user is located opposite the device, without the user having to move.
The ironing device may also have one or more of the following features, which may be present alone or in combination.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the ironing device comprises a steam delivery conduit connecting the steam generating base and the iron.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the container comprises a viewing wall extending adjacent to and visible through the viewing opening, the viewing wall being transparent or translucent so as to allow a user to visually confirm the level of liquid in the container through the viewing opening.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the viewing wall extends substantially in the extension of the viewing opening.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the viewing wall extends along at least a part of the circumference of the viewing opening, and for example along at least 60% of the circumference of the viewing opening.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the viewing wall extends substantially vertically when the steam generating base is arranged on a horizontal work plane, such as on an ironing table.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the container comprises a bottom wall from which the viewing wall extends, the bottom wall and the viewing wall defining a viewing chamber into which the viewing opening opens.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the bottom wall extends substantially horizontally when the steam generating base is arranged on a horizontal work plane.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the support portion comprises an upper surface comprising a position for placing the iron and a lower surface opposite the upper surface and oriented towards the receptacle, the viewing opening extending through the support portion from the upper surface of the support portion as far as the lower surface of the support portion.
According to an embodiment of the present invention, the support portion is inclined with respect to the horizontal direction by an angle of about 20 ° to 30 °.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the support portion comprises a support platform at least partially defining the viewing opening.

According to an embodiment of the invention, the container comprises two lateral wings extending on either side of the viewing wall.
According to an embodiment of the invention, the viewing wall is curved.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 to 5 show an ironing apparatus 2 comprising a steam generating base 3 and an iron 4, said iron 4 being connected to said steam generating base 3 by means of a steam delivery conduit (not shown in the figures).
The steam generating base 3 comprises, in particular, a casing 5 and a container 6, the container 6 being mounted in a removable manner on the casing 5 and serving, for example, to contain water. The steam generating base 3 further comprises a steam generator and a pump (not shown in the figures) housed in the casing 5. The pump is more particularly configured for feeding the steam generator with water from the reservoir 6.
The steam generating base 3 further comprises a support portion 7, said support portion 7 being arranged obliquely above the container 6, and the iron 4 can be placed on said support portion 7 during an ironing non-operative stage. When the steam generating base 3 is arranged on a horizontal work plane, for example on an ironing table, the support portion 7 is inclined with respect to the horizontal by an angle of inclination of, for example, approximately 20 ° to 30 °.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the support portion 7 comprises a support platform 8 integral with the housing 5, the support platform 8 belonging for example to an integral part of the housing 5, and the support portion 7 comprises a cover plate 9, the cover plate 9 covering the support platform 8 and on which the iron 4 can be placed during the rest phase of ironing. Advantageously, the covering plate 9 comprises an upper surface 9.1, the upper surface 9.1 comprising a position in which the iron 4 can be placed, and the support platform 8 comprises a lower surface 8.1 opposite the upper surface 9.1 and the lower surface 8.1 is oriented towards the container 6.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the support portion 7 further comprises a retaining element 11, such as a retaining claw, the retaining element 11 being configured for engaging with a rear portion of the iron 4 and for retaining the iron 4 on the support portion 7 when the iron 4 is arranged on the support portion 7, and the steam generating base 3 further comprises a locking element 12, the locking element 12 being configured for cooperating with a front portion of the iron 4 and being movably mounted on the support portion 7 between a locking position, in which the locking element 12 locks the iron 4 on the support portion 7, and a release position (as shown in fig. 1), in which the locking element 12 releases the iron 4.
The support portion 7 further comprises a viewing opening 13, the viewing opening 13 allowing the contents of the container 6 to be viewed when the iron 4 is removed from the support portion 7. The viewing opening 13 extends through the support portion 7 and, more specifically, through the support platform 8 and the cover plate 9, from the upper surface 9.1 of the cover plate 9 up to the lower surface 8.1 of the support platform 8. The viewing opening 13 may for example have a rectangular cross-section and be arranged in a central region of the support part 7.
As shown in fig. 3 and 4, the steam generating base 3 comprises two reinforcing elements 14, the two reinforcing elements 14 being arranged below the support portion 7 and extending on either side of the viewing opening 13. Advantageously, the steam generating base 3 further comprises protruding elements 15, said protruding elements 15 being for example three protruding elements arranged around the viewing opening 13 and configured for thermally isolating the support portion 7 from the ironing base plate of the iron 4 when said iron 4 is placed on the support portion 7.
As shown in fig. 3, the container 6 includes a curved viewing wall 16, the viewing wall 16 being disposed in a middle portion of the container 6. Said viewing wall 16 extends more particularly substantially in the prolongation of said viewing opening 13 and along the periphery of a large part of the viewing opening 13. The viewing wall 16 is observable through the viewing opening 13 and is transparent or translucent to allow a user to visually confirm the level of liquid in the container 6 through the viewing opening 13.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the container 6 also comprises a bottom wall 17, the bottom wall 17 extending from the lower edge of the viewing wall 16 and being substantially perpendicular to the direction of extension of the viewing wall 16. Advantageously, said bottom wall 17 and said observation wall 16 define an observation chamber 18, said observation opening 13 opening into said observation chamber 18.
According to the embodiment shown in the figures, when the steam generating base 3 is arranged on a horizontal work plane, the viewing wall 16 extends substantially vertically and the bottom wall 17 extends substantially horizontally.
As shown in fig. 4, the container 6 further comprises an outer peripheral wall 19, the outer peripheral wall 19 being transparent or translucent so as to allow a user to visually confirm the level of liquid in the container 6 from outside the steam generating base 3. The container 6 further comprises two lateral wings 21, said two lateral wings 21 extending on either side of the viewing wall 16, and a handle 22 for facilitating the grip of the container 6, in particular for filling it.
This configuration of the steam generating base 3 and the tank 6 allows, in particular, the user to visually confirm conveniently the level of liquid in the tank 6, both during the non-operative stage of ironing and during the operative stage of ironing. Indeed, during the non-operative stage of ironing, the level of liquid in the container 6 can be easily observed by the user through the outer peripheral wall 19 of the container 6, and during the operative stage of ironing, the level of liquid in the container 6 can be easily observed by the user through the observation opening 13 and the observation wall 16 or through the outer peripheral wall 19, depending on their position with respect to the steam generating base 3.
According to another embodiment of the invention, not shown, the viewing opening 13 can be closed by a transparent or translucent window.
Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the only embodiment of the ironing appliance described by way of example only, but on the contrary it includes all the embodiments variants.

Claims (10)

1. An ironing device (2), the ironing device (2) comprising a steam generating base (3) and an iron (4) connected to the steam generating base (3), the steam generating base (3) comprising a receptacle (6) and a support portion (7), the support portion (7) being arranged obliquely above the receptacle (6) and the iron (4) being placeable on the support portion (7) during an inactive phase of ironing, characterized in that the support portion (7) comprises a viewing opening (13), the viewing opening (13) allowing the contents of the receptacle (6) to be viewed when the iron (4) is removed from the support portion (7).
2. Ironing device (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that said container (6) comprises a viewing wall (16), said viewing wall (16) extending in proximity of said viewing opening (13) and being visible through said viewing opening (13), said viewing wall (16) being transparent or translucent so as to allow the user to visually confirm the level of liquid in said container (6) through said viewing opening (13).
3. Ironing device (2) according to claim 2, characterized in that said viewing wall (16) extends substantially in the extension of said viewing opening (13).
4. Ironing device (2) according to any one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that said viewing wall (16) extends along at least a portion of the perimeter of said viewing opening (13).

Ironing apparatus (2) according to any one of claims 2 or 3, characterized in that said container (6) comprises a bottom wall (17), said observation wall (16) extending from said bottom wall (17), said bottom wall (17) and said observation wall (16) defining an observation chamber (18), said observation opening (13) opening into said observation chamber (18).
6. Ironing device (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said supporting portion (7) comprises an upper surface (9.1) and a lower surface (8.1), said upper surface (9.1) comprising a position for placing said iron (4), said lower surface (8.1) being opposite to said upper surface (9.1) and being oriented towards said container (6), said viewing opening (13) extending through said supporting portion (7) from said upper surface (9.1) of said supporting portion (7) up to said lower surface (8.1) of said supporting portion (7).
7. Ironing device (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said supporting portion (7) comprises a supporting platform (8), said supporting platform (8) at least partially defining said viewing opening (13).

Ironing device (2) according to claim 7, characterized in that said supporting portion (7) comprises a covering plate (9), said covering plate (9) at least partially covering said supporting platform (8) and on which covering plate (9) said iron (4) can be placed during the non-operative stage of ironing.
9. Ironing device (2) according to any of the claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said container (6) is removable.
10. Ironing device (2) according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said viewing opening (13) is closed by a transparent or translucent window.
