Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to wireless communication technologies, and in particular, to a device wake-up method and device.
Background
At present, the internet of things industry is rapidly developed, a large number of internet of things devices are connected to a network and are connected in a wired or wireless mode, and the internet of things device is spread in multiple fields of intelligent transportation, environmental protection, government work, public safety, safe home, intelligent fire protection, industrial monitoring, old people nursing, personal health, water system monitoring, food traceability and the like. The number of the internet of things devices involved in the application of the internet of things is huge, and the internet of things devices can be called as massive terminals. These terminals are mostly operated by battery power. In most application scenarios, such as water quality monitoring, environmental monitoring and industrial monitoring, the installation site of the equipment is not easy to detect and maintain at any time and replace batteries, and in other scenarios, such as intelligent transportation and electric meter reading, service providers also want the equipment to be installed once, and the batteries do not need to be replaced for months or even years, which requires that the internet of things equipment has a high-performance power-saving mechanism.
In various power saving mechanisms, one method is to add a power saving module to the internet of things equipment with wireless communication capability, and the working principle of the power saving module is as follows: when the power saving module is turned on, the device can turn off other modules, such as the sensor module, the microprocessor module, the memory module, the wireless communication module, and the like, and only the power saving module is kept working, and such working state can be called as a power saving state or a power saving mode. The power saving module has extremely low power consumption in work and is generally in the micro watt level. The power saving module needs to monitor whether there is a wake-up signal sent to itself, and once the power saving module receives the wake-up signal, it triggers other modules to work according to the requirements of the wake-up signal, for example, turning on a microprocessor module, turning on a wireless communication module, and the like.
With devices commonly found in wireless networks: the above working method is described by taking an Access Point (AP) and a non-Access Point (STA) as examples. An AP establishes a Basic Service Set (BSS), a STA is a wireless device associated with the AP, a power saving module is added for the STA, and the STA can only reserve the power saving module to work under the condition of no Service data and is used for receiving a wake-up signal. After a period of time, if the AP needs to send downlink data to the STA, the AP first sends a wake-up signal to the STA, and the power saving module of the STA receives the wake-up signal, and determines that the wake-up signal is sent to itself, and then according to the content of the wake-up signal, starts other modules to perform related operations, such as receiving downlink data from the AP.
In some cases, when the STA is in the power saving mode where only the power saving module is reserved, the STA may move out of the coverage of the original associated AP. For example, in a freight scene, each container of goods is installed with a wireless tracking device, and when the goods enter a logistics link, the goods can quickly move out of the coverage range of the original AP. At this time, problems may occur in that: if the original AP cannot know the location of the STA, when the network side has data to send to the STA and the original AP sends a wake-up signal, the original AP cannot wake up the corresponding device, and the original AP may retransmit the wake-up signal many times without a response, which results in waste of air interface resources and is not favorable for power saving of the AP. On the other hand, the STA enters the coverage of other APs, and the other APs do not get the notification, and the other APs are not responsible for waking up the STA, which may cause the STA to be unable to wake up.

Example one
In a wireless local area network, an AP establishes a BSS, the BSS has a certain coverage area according to the transmission power of the AP and the antenna configuration, a station in the wireless local area network is in the coverage area of a certain BSS, and if the station enters a power saving mode, in order to wake up the station, a plurality of paging sets are established in this embodiment. Each paging set includes a certain number of BSSs, and in particular, may include at least one BSS. Moreover, since several BSSs may form an Extended Service Set (ESS), several BSSs in each paging Set may form one ESS, or form multiple ESS, or certainly, may not form an ESS. One BSS may also belong to multiple paging sets. The BSS quantity in the paging set needs to be set properly, the quantity cannot be too much on the premise of ensuring the coverage, the channel collision aggravation caused by too many AP sending messages during each paging is prevented, the quantity cannot be too small, and the station is prevented from frequently detecting the change of the paging set and reporting the change.
Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of a network topology of a paging set according to an embodiment of the present invention; an example of the above paging set may be as shown in fig. 1. Paging set 1 includes three BSSs: BSS1, BSS2 and BSS8, and BSS1, BSS2 and BSS8 constitute an ESS 1. Paging set 2 includes four BSSs: BSS3, BSS4, BSS5 and BSS6, wherein BSS3 and BSS4 constitute ESS2, and BSS5 and BSS6 constitute ESS 3. Paging set 3 contains two BSSs: BSS7 and BSS8, which do not constitute an ESS. As can be seen, BSS8 belongs to two paging sets: paging set 1 and paging set 3. In fig. 1, a paging set management entity is configured for a plurality of paging sets, and the paging set management entity is configured to manage a paging set 1, a paging set 2, and a paging set 3. Examples of functions of the management entity include:
allocating paging set identification to each paging set;
maintaining a BSS list and/or an ESS list for each paging set;
when a request message of an AP is received, allocating or redistributing an awakening identifier for a station associated with or not associated with the AP according to the request message, and ensuring the uniqueness of the awakening identifier in a paging set, or an ESS, or a BSS where the AP is located, or the uniqueness in the whole network;
maintaining a station and a wakeup identification thereof, and maintaining the corresponding relation between the station and the BSS, the ESS and the paging set in which the station is positioned;
when a station is identified to leave a paging set, releasing the awakening identifier occupied by the station, wherein the specific identification mode can be a report through an AP;
and triggering at least one AP in at least one paging set to send a first wireless signal carrying at least one awakening identifier so as to awaken the station. The awakened station may be a station associated with the AP or unassociated.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of another network topology of a paging set according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 2, unlike fig. 1, in this illustration, one paging set management entity is configured for each paging set, and there may also be one management module in charge of managing multiple paging set management entities above multiple paging set management entities. The module for managing a plurality of paging set management entities may be located in any paging set management entity, or may be located on other entities. The functions of each paging set management entity are exemplified as follows:
acquiring a self paging set identifier;
maintaining a BSS list and/or an ESS list of a self paging set;
when a request message of an AP is received, according to the request message, a wake-up identifier is allocated or reallocated to a station which is associated with or not associated with the AP, and the uniqueness of the wake-up identifier in a paging set, or in an ESS, or in a BSS, or in the whole network is ensured;
maintaining the station and the awakening identifier thereof, and maintaining the corresponding relation between the station and the BSS and the ESS where the station is located;
when a station is identified to leave the paging set, releasing the awakening identifier occupied by the station, wherein the specific identification mode can be a report through an AP;
at least one AP in a trigger paging set sends a first wireless signal carrying at least one awakening identifier, and the first wireless signal is used for awakening a station. The awakened station may be a station associated with the AP or unassociated.
In each embodiment of the present invention, the paging set management entity is a functional entity, generally located on a network side, and may be a functional entity in an Access Controller (AC) device above an AP layer, or located in an AP, or located on a terminal side.
By adopting the equipment awakening method and equipment provided by the embodiment of the invention, aiming at the condition that the wireless equipment cannot be awakened due to movement, the wireless equipment can monitor the network change in the moving process and report the position information of the wireless equipment to the network, so that the aim of accurately awakening the wireless equipment in a power-saving mode is fulfilled, and the air interface resources are saved while the power is saved.
Example two
The embodiment of the invention provides a device awakening method. The embodiment may specifically be a paging policy of a paging set management entity. Fig. 3 is a first flowchart of a device wake-up method according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 3, the method includes:
step 101: the paging set management entity triggers at least one access point in at least one paging set to send a first wireless signal; the first wireless signal is used for waking up a station associated with or not associated with the access point; wherein the paging management entity manages at least one paging set. Each paging set comprises at least one BSS, and at least one BSS in each paging set can form at least one ESS or the BSSs in the paging set do not form an ESS; the paging set management entity allocates or reallocates wake-up identifications to stations associated or not associated with the access point in the paging set; the awakening identification has uniqueness within a specific range; the specific ranges include: basic service set BSS, extended server set ESS, paging set, or the entire network.
In this embodiment, the value of the wake-up identifier is obtained by operation according to at least one of the following parameters: the method comprises the steps of identifying a medium access control MAC address of a station, identifying the association of the station, identifying a Basic Service Set (BSS) in which the station is located, identifying an ESS in which the station is located, and identifying a paging set in which the station is located.
The value of the awakening identifier is obtained according to the following parameters: whether a station moves, the size of the moving range of the station, the category of the station, the BSS/ESS/paging set/number of stations in the whole network where the station is located; in this embodiment, taking the paging set management entity located in the AC as an example, the paging set management entity triggers an AP in the paging set to send a first wireless signal, where the first wireless signal is used to wake up a station.
Specifically, there are various ways for the paging set management entity to trigger the AP to send the first wireless signal. The paging set management entity can trigger access points of all BSS in a paging set to send a first wireless signal; or triggering access points of partial BSS in a paging set to send a first wireless signal; or triggering access points of all BSS in at least two paging sets to send a first wireless signal; or,
the access points of partial BSSs in at least two paging sets are triggered to transmit a first wireless signal. Taking the scenario of fig. 1 in the first embodiment as an example, if a paging set management entity is configured in multiple paging sets, the manner for triggering the AP to send the first wireless signal by the paging set management entity may include:
notifying the APs of some BSSs in a certain paging set to transmit a first wireless signal to wake up a station, for example, all APs in the same ESS, and when the APs transmit the first wireless signal and do not receive a response frame within a predetermined time, the APs report a wake-up failure to a paging set management entity, the paging set management entity may notify the APs of other BSSs in the paging set to transmit the first wireless signal, continue to wake up the station, or change the paging set, notify the APs of some BSSs in other paging sets to transmit the first wireless signal, wake up the station until receiving an acknowledgement from the AP, and the station is already woken up.
In the above embodiment, the paging set management entity adopts a hierarchical wake-up mode to avoid channel congestion caused by a large number of APs sending the first wireless signals, and the paging set management entity may determine which APs in which paging sets are triggered to send the first wireless signals according to the previously collected location information of the Station (STA).
Or, the paging set management entity notifies all APs in a certain paging set to send first wireless signals to wake up a certain station, and when the APs send the first wireless signals and do not receive response frames within a preset time, the APs report wake-up failure to the paging set management entity, the paging set management entity changes the paging set, notifies all APs in other paging sets to send the first wireless signals, and wakes up the station until the confirmation of the APs is received, and the station is awakened.
In the above embodiment, the paging set management entity has no location information of the Station (STA), and each wake-up is performed under all APs in one paging set.
In the above embodiment, the method for transmitting the first wireless signal by the plurality of APs may be contention transmission, or may be downlink multi-user parallel transmission method, that is, the first wireless signal by the plurality of APs is transmitted by DL-MU Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) or Downlink (DL) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA). The paging set management entity is responsible for time-frequency domain synchronization among multiple APs.
For the scenario of fig. 2 in the first embodiment, each paging set has a respective paging set management entity, and the manner for triggering the AP to transmit the first wireless signal for each paging set management entity may include:
the AP of some BSSs in the paging set is notified to transmit a first wireless signal to wake up a station, for example, all APs in the same ESS, and when the AP transmits the first wireless signal and does not receive a response frame within a predetermined time, the AP reports a wake-up failure to the paging set management entity, and then the paging set management entity may notify the APs of other BSSs in the paging set to transmit the first wireless signal and continue to wake up the station. The paging set management entity needs the upper layer central node to inform other paging set management entities to trigger the APs of BSSs in other sets to send first wireless signals, and awakens the station until receiving an acknowledgement from an AP, and the station is awakened.
In the above embodiment, the paging set management entity determines which APs in the paging set are triggered to transmit the first wireless signal according to the previously collected location information of the STA.
Or, the paging set management entity notifies all APs in the paging set to send a first wireless signal to wake up a certain station, and when the APs send the first wireless signal and do not receive a response frame within a predetermined time, the APs report a wake-up failure to the paging set management entity, the paging set management entity notifies the paging set management entities of other paging sets through the upper layer central node, triggers all APs in other paging set management entities to send the first wireless signal, and wakes up the station until receiving a confirmation of the certain AP, and the station is awakened.
In the above embodiment, the paging set management entity has no location information of the STA, and each wake-up is performed under all APs in one paging set.
In the above embodiment, BSSs belonging to multiple paging sets can communicate with multiple paging set management entities, so that when a Station (STA) fails to wake up in a paging set, the paging set management entity of the paging set can notify other paging set management entities to continue Station (STA) wake up through the BSS belonging to multiple paging sets. In the above example, the method for transmitting the first wireless signal by the plurality of APs may be contention transmission, or may be parallel downlink multi-user transmission, that is, the first wireless signal by the plurality of APs is transmitted by DL-MU MIMO or DL OFDMA. The paging set management entity is responsible for time-frequency domain synchronization among multiple APs.
That is, the paging set management entity triggers the access points of all BSSs in a paging set to transmit a first wireless signal; or, the paging set management entity triggers access points of partial BSS in a paging set to send a first wireless signal; or, the paging set management entity triggers access points of all BSSs in at least two paging sets to send a first wireless signal; the paging set management entity triggers access points of partial BSS in at least two paging sets to send a first wireless signal.
For a Station (STA), if a plurality of first wireless signals are received, wherein the first wireless signals all carry their own wake-up identifiers, the Station (STA) may select a transmitting AP corresponding to the first wireless signal with the strongest received signal strength as an AP for communicating with, and ignore APs corresponding to other first wireless signals. Wherein the Station (STA) may be a station associated with the AP or unassociated.
Wherein the AP may inform the STA of the channel to receive the first wireless signal in advance. Currently, BSSs in the same ESS may have different operating channels or main channels, so that at least one channel for transmitting the first wireless signal may be fixed for one ESS or BSS in one paging set and notified to the station, so that the station can reduce the time for scanning the channel and can receive the first wireless signal as soon as possible. The bandwidth of this channel may be less than the bandwidth of normal data transmission by the STA and the AP.
EXAMPLE III
The embodiment of the invention also provides a device awakening method. The embodiment may specifically be a process for reporting station location information. Fig. 4 is a second flowchart of a device wake-up method according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 4, the method includes:
step 201: the access point sends a second wireless signal carrying the identification information; the second wireless signal is used for the station to detect whether at least one of the following network environments in which the station is located changes: paging set, BSS, ESS.
Step 202: the station receives a second wireless signal and judges the network environment of the station according to the second wireless signal; the network environment includes at least one of the following network environments: paging set, basic service set BSS, extended server set ESS.
In this embodiment, the AP in the paging set sends the second wireless signal in a multicast or broadcast manner in a periodic or event-triggered manner. The second wireless signal is similar to the system information, but only carries identification information for the STAs within its coverage area to identify the current change of their own location.
In the second wireless signal, the identification information includes at least one of: the access point identification information of the access point or part of the access point identification information of the access point, the ESS identification information of the access point or part of the ESS identification information of the access point, the paging set identification information of the paging set of the access point or part of the paging set identification information of the paging set of the access point. Specifically, the carried identification information may be at least one of the following information:
BSSID of AP, or BSScolor of AP; or a partial BSSID of the AP, e.g., the upper N bytes (N is a positive integer) of a full 48-bit BSSID, or a value obtained by some operation of the BSSID of the access point, which can be used to identify an AP;
the ESSID of the ESS to which the AP belongs, or a partial ESSID to which the AP belongs, such as a high M bytes (M is a positive integer) of the ESSID, or a value obtained by some operation of the ESSID of the ESS to which the AP belongs, where the value may identify one ESS;
the paging set identifier of the paging set to which the AP belongs, or a partial paging set identifier, for example, a partial byte of the paging set identifier, or a value obtained by calculating the paging identifier, which may identify a paging set.
In this embodiment, when associating with an AP, the STA acquires the BSSID of the AP, the ESSID of the ESS where the AP is located, and the identification information of the paging set where the AP is located, and the STA stores these pieces of information locally. When receiving a second wireless signal, the STA compares the identification information with the locally stored information, and if the parameters are changed, the STA can determine which of the BSS, ESS, and paging set where the STA is located has changed. For example, according to the comparison result of the parameters, the STA may move out of the BSS associated previously but still be in the original ESS and paging set; or, the STA moves out of the original BSS and ESS but still stays in the original paging set; alternatively, the STA moves out of the original paging set.
In the moving process, the STA continuously updates the locally stored identification information according to the second wireless signal received last time, and is used for judging the change condition of the position of the STA.
When the STA recognizes that the BSS, ESS or paging set in which the STA is located is changed, the STA needs to report to the AP. The specific reporting policy may be one of the following:
when a Station (STA) detects that the BSS of the station is changed, the station sends a third wireless signal and reports the position of the station;
when a Station (STA) detects that the ESS of the station is changed, the station sends a third wireless signal and reports the position of the station;
when a Station (STA) detects that the paging set of the station is changed, the station sends a third wireless signal and reports the position of the station.
The AP to which the Station (STA) selects the third wireless signal may be an AP that is not associated with the STA, for example, the STA enters a coverage area of a new AP, and the STA sends the third wireless signal to the AP and reports its own location. The STA may also not designate the AP that is the receiver of the third wireless signal, that is, send a third wireless signal whose receiving address is a broadcast address, and any AP may report the signal to the network side after receiving the third wireless signal.
The third wireless signal carries station identification information capable of identifying the STA, for example, a 48-bit MAC address of the STA, an association identification AID of the STA, or a partial AID, or an awake identification of the STA when the awake identification of the STA represents the uniqueness of the whole network. The third wireless signal may be only one Null Data Packet (NDP) frame without a MAC layer payload.
If the AP receives a third wireless signal sent by an STA, the AP stores the station identifier information therein and reports the information to the paging set management entity to which the AP belongs, and the paging set management entity performs further operations and decisions, including: updating BSS, ESS and paging set where STA is currently located; and if the STA newly enters a paging set, reallocating the wake-up identifier for the STA, and triggering the AP to send the reallocated wake-up identifier to the STA, or triggering the AP to reallocate the wake-up identifier for the STA.
The method for sending the third wireless signal by the STA is flexible, the STA can receive and analyze the second wireless signal by using a power saving module arranged in the STA as the current STA is in a power saving mode, and the third wireless signal is sent by using the power saving module when needed. And receiving the second wireless signal, and when sending a third wireless signal, enabling other modules of the station except the power saving module to be in a closed state. Alternatively, the STA may use other modules with communication capabilities to transmit the third wireless signal in a low power consumption, low rate manner.
The AP may inform the STA of at least one channel used to receive the second wireless signal and/or transmit the third wireless signal prior to transmitting the second wireless signal and/or receiving the third wireless signal. Currently, BSSs in the ESS may have different operating channels or main channels, and thus at least one channel for transmitting the second wireless signal and/or a channel for transmitting the third wireless signal may be fixed for one ESS or BSSs in one paging set and notified to the station, and the bandwidth of the channels may be smaller than that of normal data transmission of the STA and the AP.
Example four
The embodiment of the invention also provides a device awakening method, and the embodiment specifically relates to the distribution and redistribution process of the awakening identifier. Fig. 5 is a third flowchart illustrating a device wake-up method according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 5, the method includes:
step 301: a station receives a first wireless signal sent by an access point; the first wireless signal may carry a wake-up identifier of the station.
In this embodiment, when the STA is in the coverage of an AP, the STA completes association authentication with the AP, and the STA is referred to as accessing the AP. During association, the STA allocates an association identifier AID to the STA, which is unique within the BSS. The STA may enter a power save mode and therefore needs to be assigned a wake up identity.
The wakeup flag may be allocated to the STA before the STA associates with the AP, or during association with the AP, or during the STA initiates entering the power saving mode. The entity for allocating the wake-up identifier may be a paging set management entity, an access point, or other network entities. The wakeup flag may also be obtained by the station through its own operation according to the value-taking mode described below. The wake-up identifier has uniqueness within a specific range, which includes: unique within an STA-associated BSS, or unique within an ESS in which the BSS resides, or unique within a paging set to which the BSS belongs, or unique within the entire network. The value of the wake-up identifier can take the following factors into consideration, such as whether the STA moves, the size of the moving range, the category of the STA, the BSS/ESS/paging set where the STA is located and the number of stations in the whole network.
The value of the awakening identification is obtained according to at least one of the following parameters: the MAC address of the STA, the Association Identifier (AID) of the station, the BSSID of the BSS in which the STA is positioned, the ESSID of the ESS in which the STA is positioned, and the paging set identifier of the paging set in which the station is positioned. The operation may be an intercept, cascade, HASH (HASH), logical operation, and so on. Specifically, the intercepting operation includes intercepting the MAC address, AID, BSSID, ESSID, and partial byte or bit of the paging set identifier; the cascade operation includes: at least one of the MAC address, the AID, the BSSID, the ESSID and the paging set identifier is obtained by cascading, or at least one of the MAC address, the AID, the BSSID, the ESSID and the paging set identifier is firstly intercepted and then obtained by cascading; HASH operation is to execute HASH operation on at least one of the MAC address, AID, BSSID, ESSID and paging set identifier, or firstly intercept and then carry out HASH; the logical operation includes: and (3) performing operations such as AND, OR and NOT by taking at least one of the MAC address, the AID, the BSSID, the ESSID and the paging set identifier as a parameter, or performing interception firstly and then performing logic operation. It is noted that if the AP supports the multi-BSS attribute, the BSSID may select any one of the BSSID sets supported by the AP.
Combining the above factors, there are various schemes for taking the value of the wake-up identifier, for example, as follows:
if the STA is a device without mobile capability, using AID of the STA as a wakeup identifier of the STA, wherein the wakeup identifier is unique in the BSS;
if the STA only moves in the ESS, using the AID of the STA and the BSSID of the BSS in which the STA is positioned to perform certain operation to generate the awakening identifier of the STA, wherein the awakening identifier can be obtained by the operation of the STA per se or is uniformly distributed by an AP (access point), an ESS management entity or a paging set management entity, and the awakening identifier is ensured to be unique in the ESS;
or, the AID of the STA, the BSSID where the STA is located, the ESSID and/or the paging set identifier are/is used for generating the awakening identifier of the STA through calculation, wherein the awakening identifier of the STA can be obtained through calculation of the STA or is uniformly distributed by the AP, the ESS management entity or the paging set management entity, and the awakening identifier is unique in the paging set;
or, the paging set management entity or other Network entities perform unified allocation of an awake identifier throughout the Network, so as to ensure that the awake identifier is unique in the entire Network, and the other Network entities may be Access Network Queue Protocol (ANQP) or Generic Application Server (GAS);
the wakeup flag may be composed of multiple levels of fields, each level of field has several bytes or bits, for example, if the category of the STA, such as the device type of the STA, or the application type of the STA, or the operator to which the STA belongs, can be known, the wakeup flag may adopt a value mode of device/application type/operator identification code concatenated device coding; or the wake-up identifier can use a value mode of the paging set identifier cascade station identifier;
if the number of stations in the BSS where the STA is located is small, a partial AID may be used as the wake-up identifier, and if the number of stations is increased, a complete AID may be used as the wake-up identifier.
In the above example, if the wake-up flag of the STA is a variable-length flag according to whether the STA moves, the size of the moving range, the category of the STA, and the number of BSS/ESS/paging set/stations in the entire network where the STA is located, for example, the wake-up flag may use a partial AID in some cases, and may use a complete AID in some cases, it is necessary to indicate the length of the flag used in all signals including the wake-up flag, for example, in a first wireless signal, a fourth wireless signal, and the like, where the length may be a long-short indication bit, 0 indicates that a short flag is used, and 1 indicates that a long flag is used. And the STA reads the length indication bit, and then knows how many bits the wake-up identifier in the current signal should read for analysis.
The manner in which the AP implements uniform allocation of the wake-up identifier within the ESS may include: an ESS management entity uniformly pre-allocates address spaces for all APs in the ESS, and then the APs allocate values in the pre-allocated address spaces to the STAs;
the method for the AP or ESS management entity to implement uniform distribution of the wake-up identifier in the whole network may include: the paging set management entity pre-allocates an address space for each AP or ESS management entity, and the AP allocates the values in the pre-allocated address space to the STA.
If the network side judges that one STA moves out of the BSS/ESS/paging set, the awakening identification used by the STA is allowed to be allocated to other STAs. The judgment basis can be that the STA moves out according to a third wireless signal reported by the STA, or a timer is set at the network side, and any signal of the STA is not received within a certain time.
Once the paging set management entity or other network entity reassigns the STA the wake up identity, the new identity is sent to the AP, via the AP to the STA. The AP may send the reallocated wake-up flag via a fourth wireless signal after receiving the third wireless signal sent by the STA. Alternatively, the AP may separately transmit the fourth wireless signal to update the wakeup identification for the STA. The AP may also carry the wakeup flag being used by the STA and the reallocated wakeup flag in the first wireless signal, and the STA updates the wakeup flag itself after receiving the wakeup flag. The STA may use a power saving module built in the STA to receive the fourth wireless signal and the first wireless signal, and when the STA receives the fourth wireless signal and the first wireless signal, other modules of the station except the power saving module are in an off state. The AP may notify the STA of at least one channel to receive the fourth wireless signal before transmitting the fourth wireless signal. At least one channel for transmitting the fourth wireless signal, which may have a bandwidth smaller than that of normal data transmission of the STA and the AP, may be fixed for one ESS or BSS in one paging set and notified to the station.
Fifth embodiment describes a method for allocating an AP wakeup flag. Since the AP itself is also a station, in some scenarios, the AP may also enter a power saving mode, and when the STA has data to send to the AP, the STA may send a first wireless signal to wake up the AP, where the first wireless signal needs to carry a wake-up identifier of the AP.
The AP wakeup flag may notify the STA after the STA associates with the AP, or may be obtained by analyzing any signal carrying the AP wakeup flag sent by the AP when the STA does not associate, or notify the STA when the AP enters a power saving mode.
The entity for allocating the wake-up identifier to the AP may be a paging set management entity, an ESS management entity, or other network entities. The wakeup flag may also be obtained by the AP through its own operation according to the value-taking mode described below. The wake-up identifier has uniqueness within a specific range, which includes: unique within the ESS to which the AP belongs, unique within the paging set to which the AP belongs, or unique within the entire network.
The value of the wake-up identifier may take into account the factors of whether the AP moves, the size of the moving range, the type of the AP, the ESS/paging set where the AP is located, and the number of APs or relay nodes in the entire network.
The value of the awakening identification is obtained according to at least one of the following parameters: the MAC address of the AP (i.e., BSSID), ESSID of the ESS where the AP is located, paging set identification of the paging set where the AP is located, and a special AID value (e.g., AID 0 or AID 2047) used by the AP. The operation may be an intercept, cascade, HASH (HASH), logical operation, and so on. Specifically, the intercepting operation includes intercepting partial bytes or bits of the MAC address, ESSID, paging set identifier, and AID value of the AP; the cascade operation includes: at least one of the MAC address, the ESSID, the paging set identifier and the AID value of the AP is obtained by cascading, or at least one of the MAC address, the ESSID, the paging set identifier and the AID value of the AP is firstly intercepted and then obtained by cascading; HASH operation is to execute HASH operation on at least one of the MAC address, the ESSID, the paging set identifier and the AID value of the AP, or firstly intercept and then carry out HASH; the logical operation includes: and (3) performing operations such as AND, OR and NOT by taking at least one of the MAC address, the ESSID, the paging set identifier and the AID value of the AP as a parameter, or performing interception firstly and then performing logic operation. It should be noted that if the AP supports the multi-BSS attribute, the MAC address may select any one of the BSSID sets supported by the AP.
The wake-up identifier of the AP may be composed of multiple levels of fields, each level of field having a number of bytes or bits, for example, if the category of the AP can be known, for example, the device type of the AP, or the application type of the AP, or the operator to which the AP belongs, the wake-up identifier may adopt a value-taking manner of a device/application type/operator identification code concatenated device code; or the wakeup identifier may use paging set to identify the AID value of the cascaded AP, or (part of) BSSID of the cascaded AP, or other value manners.

The embodiment of the invention also provides a device awakening method; this embodiment is specifically a Station (STA) wakeup process. Fig. 6 is a fourth flowchart illustrating a device wake-up method according to an embodiment of the present invention; as shown in fig. 6, the method includes:
step 401: the access point sends a first wireless signal; the first wireless signal is used to wake up a station associated or not associated with the access point.
In this embodiment, when there is downlink data for a certain STA and the STA is in the power saving mode, the AP needs to wake up the STA and send the data to the STA. To achieve this, the strategy in the second embodiment is adopted, and the paging set management entity triggers the AP to send the first wireless signal to wake up the station.
Specifically, the AP sends a first wireless signal to the STA, where the first wireless signal carries an awakening identifier of the STA, and it should be noted that the AP may awaken the STA associated with the AP or awaken an STA that is not associated with the AP. The AP may also simultaneously carry multiple wake-up identities in the first wireless signal in order to wake up multiple STAs at a time. The AP may also send a plurality of first wireless signals carrying a plurality of wake-up identifiers in a downlink multi-user manner, so that the number of STAs that are awake at one time is greater.
Besides the wakeup flag, the first wireless signal may also carry some control instructions to instruct the STA that receives the wakeup to perform corresponding actions, that is, the first wireless signal is used to instruct the station associated with the access point or not to trigger at least one of the following operations: reporting self position information, waiting for downlink data to be received, sending uplink data, and judging whether to execute network access. When the STA receives the first wireless signal comprising the self-awakening identification, the STA analyzes the signal and executes related operation.
Wherein the control instruction may include: please the STA to send a third wireless signal to report its own position, wait for downlink data reception, perform uplink data transmission, and perform network access or not, etc. If the control instruction indicates that the STA waits for receiving the downlink data, the STA sends a confirmation frame to the AP after being awakened, informs the AP that the AP is annular, and then waits for the AP to send the downlink data; if the control instruction indicates that the STA sends the uplink data, the STA sends the prepared data in the previous cache to the AP, or immediately collects the data and sends the collected data to the AP; if the control instruction indicates whether to execute network access, if the indication is 'yes', the STA and the AP start an association authentication process, and if the indication is 'no', the STA is indicated to allow the AP not to execute the association authentication and can directly perform data transceiving with the AP.
When trying to wake up an STA, a plurality of APs all transmit a first wireless signal, and possibly the STA receives a plurality of first wireless signals carrying its own wake-up identifier in sequence, at this time, the STA selects the AP with the strongest received signal strength and performs the operation indicated in the first wireless signal transmitted by the AP.
In this embodiment, when the STA enters the power saving mode, it starts to monitor at least one of the following wireless signals: the STA may receive and analyze the first wireless signal, the second wireless signal, or the fourth wireless signal using a power saving module built therein. The command in the first wireless signal may need to be completed by a module other than the power saving module.
In this embodiment, the STA receives the first wireless signal or the fourth wireless signal and reallocates the wakeup identifier for itself, and the STA needs to update the locally stored wakeup identifier of itself.
EXAMPLE seven
The embodiment also provides a device wake-up method. The present embodiment is described with respect to a complete flow of a paging set management entity, an access point, and a station, and specifically includes the following contents:
the paging set management entity configures one ESS, namely one paging set, all the paging sets are managed by the unified paging set management entity, each ESS has a plurality of BSSs, and the paging set identifier is ESSID. The paging set management entity uniformly distributes an awakening identifier to stations entering a power saving mode under each AP in each paging set, wherein the awakening identifier is unique in the paging set.
The STA enters a power saving mode, starts a built-in power saving module and monitors a first wireless signal and a second wireless signal. The first wireless signal is used for waking up the STA, and the second wireless signal is used for confirming the position of the STA.
The AP periodically transmits a second wireless signal, and BSSID and ESSID are carried in the signal. And the STA receives the second wireless signal and judges whether the STA moves out of the BSS or not. And the STA sends a third wireless signal once judging that the STA moves out of the BSS, wherein the third wireless signal carries the MAC address of the STA, and the AP reports the third wireless signal to a paging set management entity after receiving the third wireless signal. The STA uses the third wireless signal to report the current position of the STA to the AP, and the AP sends the information to the network side, so that the network side can conveniently position the STA. For an STA which newly enters a paging set, the paging set management entity allocates a new wake-up identifier for the STA.
In another case, the AP periodically transmits a second wireless signal, the BSSID and ESSID carried in the signal. And the STA receives the second wireless signal and judges whether the STA moves out of the paging set. And once the STA judges that the STA moves out of the paging set, the STA sends a third wireless signal, wherein the third wireless signal carries the MAC address of the STA, the AP reports the third wireless signal to a paging set management entity after receiving the third wireless signal, and new awakening identification is allocated to the STA for the STA which newly enters a paging set. The STA uses the third wireless signal to report the current position of the STA to the AP, and the AP sends the information to the network side, so that the network side can conveniently position the STA. Once there is data to send to the STA, the paging set management entity triggers all APs in the paging set to send a first wireless signal in an attempt to wake up the STA. And the STA receives the first wireless signal, wherein the awakening identifier is matched with the awakening identifier of the STA, judges whether to execute network access according to the indication in the first wireless signal, replies a confirmation frame and waits for downlink data or sends uplink data.
