背景技术
共享频谱授权引入一种机制,该机制使得无线通信网络的运营商能够根据需求临时增大或减小带宽。实际上,预料到未来将没有足够的专用频谱可用于蜂窝通信网络的运营商。对带宽进行临时的增大或减小可以通过在短期或长期的基础上授权共享频谱带宽的一部分来实现。开发共享频谱授权系统的一个目标在于通过向蜂窝通信网络的运营商提供到来自其他实体(例如,公共安全、政府、其他私有授权人等)的额外的经授权频谱的接入来提供一些运营商增大的频谱需求。

本说明书中对“实施例”、“一个实施例”等的提及指的是特定的特征、结构或特点被描述为包括在本发明的至少一个实施例中。本说明书中出现的这些短语不一定全部指代同一实施例。
已提出并且正在开发各种共享频谱授权系统。共享频谱系统的一个示例是由欧洲级的无线电频谱策略组(RSPG)开发的授权共享接入(LSA)概念。LSA是基于由Qualcomm和NOKIA引入的相似的解决方案,其被称为许可共享接入(ASA)。然而,ASA受限于国际移动通信(IMT)频谱,而LSA也针对非IMT频谱。两种解决方案当前均存在于概念层面。被称为云频谱服务(CSS)的相关技术针对与LSA和ASA相同的框架,但更加详细地介绍了实现方案。此外,与LSA或ASA相比,CSS更明确地针对动态频谱资源的动态共享。

图1示出了共享频谱系统的示例架构。该系统包括覆盖区域104的共享频谱基站102。共享频谱基站提供到覆盖区域104内的移动设备106的网络接入。共享频谱基站由网络运营商控制,该网络运营商是共享频谱系统中的被授权方108。被授权方108通过中央控制器或代理商112从现任频谱持有者110接收到共享频谱的接入。控制器112可以负责通过协商过程来对频谱进行分配和/或重新分配。
在各个实施例中,在共享频谱协定下分配给被授权方108的频谱可以基于不同的时间尺度进行分配,从对共享频谱进行静态分配到高度动态分配。在许多情形中,在分配周期到期之后,频谱将被重新分派给蜂窝运营商。图2提供了频谱重新分配的图示。由于LSA目前关注2.3-2.4GHz频带中的候选频带,因此下面该图使用针对该频带进行调整的参数。然而,相同的方法可以应用于使用LSA或者任意其他适当的频谱共享技术(例如,ASA、CSS等)的任意其他频带。图2示出了第一时间段T1,其中,运营商1、运营商2以及运营商3使用共享频谱带中的频谱。在第二时间段T2中,运营商1、运营商2以及运营商3仍使用共享频谱带中的频谱,然而,该频谱已被重新分配。在各种实施例中,频谱分配时间段T1和T2可以紧随彼此之后,或者如果有关频谱不被蜂窝运营商使用则部分地(或者全部地)二者之间可以存在等待时段。出于简化和清楚的目的,假设上面的频谱分配时间段T1和T2对于有关所有蜂窝运营商和有关所有频带而言是相等的。实际上,这些频谱分配时间段对于运营商和/或有关频带部分可以是变化的。
不考虑分配时间段是短还是长,从一个分配到下一分配的平滑转换将是可取的。当前关于共享频谱系统的文件不包括在频谱分配时间段之间转换的任何智能管理。因此,可以假设一旦针对频谱分配的时间段到期,则旧的解决方案依赖于服务的中断。一旦新的频谱分配被重新协商和重新分派,该服务就被重新发起。在用户侧的缺点在于连接掉线以及在中断时段之后,服务可能需要被重新建立。
因此,需要对频谱分配时间段之间的转换的智能管理。本文所介绍的技术在频谱分配时间段到期的情况下提供持续的移动无线服务。
在一些实施例中,一旦针对有关蜂窝运营商和/或有关频谱带的频谱分配时间段到期,在共享频谱带中运行的所有用户就可被重新分配到适当的目标系统(例如,授权的频带系统(例如,3GPP LTE或旧有2G或3G系统)、2.4GHz和/或5GHz频带中的WiFi频谱等)。该场景中产生的一个问题与如下事实有关:大量的移动设备通常可在有关共享频谱带中运行,大量用户(在宏小区中可能有1000个用户或者更多)的瞬时切换可能难以实现并且可能给大量用户带来系统中断。
应当注意,共享频谱带在各种载波频率处是可用的,因此,影响切换到目标基站的移动设备的数目。图3示出了从具有相对较低频率的载波的共享频谱基站向一个或多个目标基站的切换。对于相对较低频率的共享频谱带(即,低于目标频带的频率的频率),假设类似等级的基站发送功率,与目标基站308a、308b、308c、308d、308e和308f(例如,3GPPLTE、3G、2G或其他类型的基站、接入点等)的覆盖区域306a、306b、306c、306d、306e和306f相比,由于在低频良好的传播特性,因而共享频谱基站304的覆盖区域302可以更大。
例如,TV频带(在欧洲为470-790MHz)在未来可以是用于频谱共享的可能的候选频带。在该情形中,共享频谱基站304的覆盖区域内的移动设备310a、310b和310c可以处于在较高载波频率运行的多个目标基站(例如,基站308a、308c和308f)的覆盖区域内。因此,来自共享频谱基站的切换可以被分布到多个目标基站。这可能导致额外的开销以及潜在的服务中断,因为潜在的目标系统针对几乎同时添加的潜在大量的移动设备确定最佳的基站选择。
图4示出了从具有相对较高频率的载波的共享频谱基站向一个或多个目标基站的切换。对于相对较高频率的共享频谱带(即,3.5GHz频带),假设相同等级的基站发送功率,与目标基站408a、408b、408c、408d、408e和408f的覆盖区域406a、406b、406c、406d、406e和406f相比,由于高频不有利的传播特性,因而共享频谱基站404a、404b和404c的覆盖区域402a、402b和402c可能更小。在该场景中,共享频谱分配到期可能导致潜在的目标系统中单一目标基站(例如,基站408f)上的流量负荷瞬间显著增大。
对于具有类似于目标基站的载波频率的共享频谱基站(例如,在一些实施例中,单一基站可以包括目标频带和共享频谱技术),可以假设i)分配给共享频谱基站的移动设备可以在其部署重叠的情况下执行到单一目标基站的切换,或者ii)分配给共享频谱基站的移动设备可以在其部署不重叠的情况下执行到两个或多个目标基站的切换。这可能导致基础目标系统中单一目标基站上的流量负荷瞬间显著增大(情形i)或者给基本目标系统针对几乎同时添加的潜在大量的移动设备确定最佳目标基站带来额外开销(情形ii)。
此外,共享频谱基站和目标基站的覆盖区域可能受管控的限制,因而有助于上面针对变化的传输频率所描述的那些影响相同的影响。
图5是示出了从共享频谱基站向一个或多个目标基站进行逐步切换的示例流程图。在502处,共享频谱基站识别该共享频谱基站的服务区域所覆盖的一个或多个目标基站。在一些实施例中,共享频谱基站可以与主干网进行通信,并且接收目标基站位于共享频谱基站的覆盖区域内的指示。
在504处,共享频谱基站针对共享频谱基站的覆盖区域内的每个移动设备识别目标基站。例如,为标识目标基站,共享频谱基站可以:i)识别相邻目标基站,这些相邻目标基站可以被用于为有关移动设备中的至少一些移动设备服务——通常考虑诸如有关移动设备与目标基站之间的地理距离、有关目标基站的负荷之类的参数;ii)识别有关目标基站当前所使用的频谱;iii)如果当前分配的容量不够,则目标基站可以例如(在3GPP LTE系统中)通过增加LTE带宽或通过重新分配资源(例如,将目前服务的用户的QoS从有保证的QoS降低到尽力而为的服务供应或类似)来增加容量;以及iv)向用户设备分配可用的LTE资源。
在506处,共享频谱基站将从共享频谱基站切换的移动设备的数目通知给每个目标基站。在一些实施例中,共享频谱网络的中央控制器可以将从一个或多个共享频谱基站进行切换的移动设备的数目通知给每个目标基站。
在508处,共享频谱基站从每个目标基站接收针对切换而标识的移动设备的切换时隙的数目和定时。在各个实施例中,切换时隙彼此正交,以使得目标基站不会由于同时出现大量切换请求而超负荷。在一些实施例中,主干网元件可以确定切换时隙的数目和定时,并且将其提供给共享频谱基站。例如,在一个实施例中,共享频谱控制器可以在给定的时间间隔期间选择要切换的移动设备的子集。在另一实施例中,每个移动设备可以被随机分派以特定的等待时间,以避免所有用户的瞬时切换。
在510处,共享频谱基站针对每个移动用户发起从共享频谱基站到相应的目标基站的切换。
应当注意,典型的切换持续时间例如可以在100秒到600秒的范围中。基于LTE自组织网络的特征,尤其在自动邻居关系(ANR)中,该持续时间可以被减小到可能处于0秒和400秒之间的某一值。由于这可能是较长的持续时间,因此,对于不同移动设备的切换触发可以在无需等待先前触发的切换结束的情况下而被发布(即,重叠切换是可能的)。
如上面参照图2所描述的,在各种实现方式中,预期使用共享频谱带(例如,LSA、ASA、CSS等)授予蜂窝运营商的共享频谱分配将在某一时刻到期。在许多情形中,蜂窝运营商可以在授权时段到期之后请求或协商对共享频谱分配进行延期。在一些实施例中,共享频谱带可以基于请求和/或协商被重新分配给蜂窝运营商。然而,蜂窝运营商可以根据经修改的参数接入共享频谱带。例如,载波频率和授予的带宽可以与先前分配不同。
在一个实施例中,例如,对于单一运营商系统,两步处理可以被用来将移动设备从第一分配转换到第二分配。在第一步中,与共享频谱基站相关联的移动设备可以转换到一个或多个目标基站。在一个实施例中,从共享频谱基站向一个或多个目标基站的转换可以遵循上面参照图5所描述的逐步切换过程。然而,还预期有其他切换过程。
在第二步中,目标基站可以在第二分配下触发移动设备向共享频谱基站的切换。在一个实施例中,类似于上面参照图5所描述的过程,可以顺序地触发针对每个移动设备的切换,以避免共享频谱基站的饱和。替代地,移动设备的切换可以根据蜂窝运营商的服务策略和/或移动设备的用户的服务计划来调度。目标基站还可以在做出切换决策时考虑诸如网络拥堵、优先级接入之类的因素。
尽管上面的示例可以用于单一运营商系统,但实际上,可能是若干个蜂窝运营商受共享频谱重新授权/重新协商的影响。为避免的潜在冲突(其中,重新授权或重新协商之后运营商可能尝试接入相同频谱,导致有关共享频谱带出现网络故障),中央控制实体可被用来协调移动设备的切换。在一个实施例中,共享频谱系统的控制器(如上面图1中所描述的)可以作为中央控制实体来运行。在其他实施例中,与共享频谱系统分离的实体或网络架构中的分布式功能可以发挥中央控制器的功能。
图6示出了在中央控制实体的控制下从第一共享频谱分配向第二共享频谱分配的转换。在图6的示例中,中央控制实体602与蜂窝运营商604和606进行通信。移动设备608与运营商604相关联,并且移动设备610与运营商606相关联。中央控制实体602使用触发612向运营商604和606指示第一分配时段到期。使用通信信道614,运营商604和606可以发起移动设备608和610从共享频谱基站向目标基站的切换。
在移动设备608和610成功进行切换之后,运营商可以向中央控制实体确认616:移动设备已从共享频谱基站转换到目标基站。响应于来自运营商604和606的确认,中央控制实体602可以向运营商指示618:新分配的共享频谱带是可用的。运营商604和606然后可以基于新的分配使用信道614触发切换回共享频谱基站。
在另一实施例中(如图7所示),中央控制实体702用触发712向运营商704和706指示:第一分配时段已到期。该触发还可以包括其他信息,例如,新分配的共享频谱带的可用性。在接收到该信息之后,运营商704和706可以通过向其他运营商传送移动设备708和710何时被转换到目标基站来协调向新分配的共享频谱的切换。
应当注意,图6和图7中所示的触发和信号不一定同时发生,但它们是关于在两个运营商之间使用频带时具有重叠的可能性的同一共享频谱带的。
在一些实施例中,从一个共享频谱分配直接切换到第二共享频谱分配可以在无需移动设备转换到目标基站的情况下发生。在两个分配时段之间的切换时间期间(如果这样的切换时间存在或者是值得注意的持续时间),由共享频谱基站提供的服务可被暂停(即,服务可被中断,但保持连接)。
类似于上述技术,从第一分配转换到新的分配可以被用来减少服务的中断。该处理可以包括类似于上面参照图6和图7所描述的技术的不同运营商的同步。
预期共享频谱授权可以被分配给许多(通常大于两个)运营商。桥接两个连贯的频谱共享分配时段的相应切换可以同时为许多运营商服务。上面所介绍的技术实际上适用于任意数目的运营商。然而,事实上,这样的同步转换可能涉及所有涉及的运营商之间的复杂的同步。因此,在一个实施例中,运营商可以顺序地执行向新分配的共享频谱带的转换。
图8示出了多个运营商从第一共享频谱分配向第二共享频谱分配的逐步转换。在一些实施例中,在进行如图8所描述的逐步转换之前,每个运营商可以使得其用户挂起(onhold),以允许从共享频谱带的一部分转换到另一部分。尽管图8的示例示出了四个运营商的转换,但应当理解,在从第一共享频谱分配向第二共享频谱分配的转换中可能涉及任意数目的运营商。
在时间802,以运营商1-4描述了第一共享频谱分配,每个运营商被分配以共享频谱带的一部分。
在图8的示例中,由于运营商4不具有第二共享频谱分配的一部分,因此在时间804,运营商4发起从共享频谱基站向授权的频带基站的切换。
在时间806,根据第二共享频谱分配,运营商1释放其在该频谱的部分,并且运营商2采用其在该频谱的部分。
在时间808,根据第二共享频谱分配,运营商3释放其在该频谱的部分,并且运营商1采用其在该频谱的部分。
在时间810,根据第二共享频谱分配,运营商3采用其在该频谱的部分。
在图8的示例中,应当理解,在运营商3在整个转换期间被强制保持挂起时对于运营商3存在挑战,因为在时间802与810之间可能存在显著的时间流逝。确实存在这样的危险,即,对于连接到运营商3的网络的用户可能存在服务的中断。出于这一原因,在一些实施例中,运营商3还可以在该转换期间将其用户转换到其被授权的频带频谱。
该处理可以如图9所示来总结。在902处,共享频谱基站将所有涉及到的运营商挂起(即,暂停相应的服务,但不断开)。在904处,共享频谱基站标识可以转换到第二共享频谱分配的运营商的子集。
在906处,共享频谱基站将该运营商的子集转换到第二共享频谱分配,并且重新激活有关运营商的服务。
在908处,共享频谱基站确定是否所有的运营商已被转换到第二共享频谱分配。如果否,则该处理针对要被转换到第二共享频谱分配的其他的运营商返回到904。如果是,则该处理在910处结束。
应当理解,服务暂停与继续之间的暂停是很小的或者可忽略不计的。如果暂停长于向用户暂停服务可接受的时间(例如,根据运营商的服务质量),则共享频谱基站可以在转换发生的同时发起向运营商的授权频带基站的切换。
图10是示出基站(例如,共享频谱基站或目标基站)的架构的示例的高层次框图。在所示出的实施例中,基站架构是处理系统,该处理系统包括处理器子系统1002,其可以包括一个或多个处理器。该基站架构还包括存储器1004、存储模块1006以及天线系统1008,这些中的每个由互连结构1010进行互连并且由电源1012来供电。
该基站架构可以被实施为单处理器系统或者多处理器系统,其优选地实现向移动设备发送数据并且从移动设备接收数据的高级模块。数据可以经由天线系统1008来传输,天线系统1008可以包括能够在一个或多个频率上接收和发送数据的单天线系统或多天线系统。数据1014可以被存储于存储模块1006中,以使得其可以由处理器子系统1002和存储器1004取回。
存储器1004示意性地包括可由处理器子系统1002和该基站架构的其他组件寻址以存储软件程序代码和数据结构的存储位置。处理器子系统1002和相关联的组件转而可以包括处理元件和/或逻辑电路,其被配置为运行软件代码并对数据结构进行操作。操作系统1016在功能上组织基站架构,操作系统1016的一部分通常驻留在存储器1004中并且由处理器子系统1002运行。其他处理和存储器实现方式(包括各种计算机可读存储介质)可以被用于存储和运行关于本文所介绍的技术的程序指令,这对于本领域技术人员而言是明显的。
上面所介绍的技术可以由可编程电路来实现,这些可编程电路由软件和/或固件进行编程或配置,或者这些技术可以全部由专用硬连接电路或这些形式的组合来实现。这样的专用电路(如果有)例如可以采用如下形式:一个或多个专用集成电路(ASIC)、可编程逻辑设备(PLD)、现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)等。
用于实现本文所介绍的技术的软件或固件可以被存储于机器可读存储介质上,并且可以由一个或多个通用或专用可编程微处理器来运行。如本文使用的术语“机器可读介质”包括可以存储可由机器(机器例如可以是计算机、网络设备、蜂窝电话、PDA、制造工具、具有一个或多个处理器的任意设备等等)访问的形式的信息的任意机制。例如,机器可访问介质可以包括可记录/不可记录介质(例如,只读存储器(ROM);随机访问存储器(RAM);磁盘存储介质;光存储介质;闪存设备;等等)等。
本文所使用的术语“逻辑”例如可包括专用硬连接电路、结合可编程电路的固件和/或软件、或其组合。

Claims (20)

1.一种共享频谱基站,包括:
处理器;和
与所述处理器相耦合的存储器,所述存储器存储指令,当所述指令被运行时使得所述共享频谱基站:
识别由所述共享频谱基站的服务区域所覆盖的一个或多个目标系统;
向每个目标系统通知要切换的移动设备的数目;以及
从每个目标系统接收针对要切换的移动设备的切换时隙的数目和定时,其中所述切换时隙的数目与所述要切换的移动设备的数目相对应;
针对与所述共享频谱基站进行通信的每个移动设备,识别所述一个或多个目标系统中的具体目标系统和切换时隙的数目和定时;以及
根据所述切换时隙的数目和定时,针对多个移动设备中的每个移动设备发起向所述一个或多个目标系统的切换。
2.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述指令还使得所述共享频谱基站:
根据新分配或重新协商的共享频谱带的可用性,接收针对另外多个移动设备中的每个移动设备的切换。
3.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述指令还使得所述共享频谱基站:
接收与多个授权频带的运营商相关联的移动设备的切换,其中,针对所述多个授权频带运营商中的每一个的切换顺序地发生。
4.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,共享频谱带相对于目标频带是低频频带,并且所述共享频谱基站的服务区域覆盖多个目标基站的服务区域。
5.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,共享频谱带在目标频带附近,并且所述共享频谱基站的服务区域覆盖类似于目标基站的区域。
6.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,共享频谱带相对于目标频带是高频频带,并且多个共享频谱基站的服务区域落入单一目标基站的服务区域之内。
7.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,为根据所述切换时隙的数目和定时针对多个移动设备中的每个移动设备发起切换,所述指令使得所述共享频谱基站在先前触发的切换结束之前发起针对下一切换时隙的切换。
8.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述切换时隙是针对一个移动设备的。
9.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述切换时隙是针对不止一个移动设备的。
10.如权利要求4-6中任一项所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述目标基站是长期演进LTE基站。
11.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述共享频谱基站是授权共享接入LSA基站。
12.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述共享频谱基站是许可共享接入ASA基站。
13.如权利要求1所述的共享频谱基站,其中,所述共享频谱基站是云频谱服务CSS基站。
14.一种用于将多个移动设备从第一共享频谱带分配转换到第二共享频谱带分配的方法,该方法包括:
在从所述第一共享频谱带分配向所述第二共享频谱带的分配的转换期间,在目标基站处,接收对针对所述多个移动设备中的每个移动设备开始从一个或多个共享频谱基站向所述目标基站进行切换的指示;
由所述目标基站向所述一个或多个共享频谱基站中的每个共享频谱基站发送针对所述多个移动设备中的每个移动设备的切换时隙的指示;
根据针对所述多个移动设备中的每个移动设备的所述切换时隙来执行针对所述多个移动设备中的每个移动设备向目标基站的切换;
在所述目标基站处,接收对所述第二共享频谱带分配中的共享频谱带的可用性的指示;以及
执行移动设备向所述共享频谱基站的切换。
15.如权利要求14所述的方法,其中,所述切换时隙是针对一个移动设备的。
16.如权利要求14所述的方法,其中,所述切换时隙是针对不止一个的移动设备的。
17.如权利要求14所述的方法,其中,所述目标基站是第3代合作伙伴计划项目长期演进3GPP LTE基站。
18.如权利要求14所述的方法,其中,所述共享频谱基站是授权共享接入LSA基站。
19.如权利要求14所述的方法,其中,所述共享频谱基站是许可共享接入ASA基站或云频谱服务CSS基站。
20.一种存储有代码的机器可读介质,所述代码当被运行时,使得机器执行如权利要求14-19中任一项所述的方法。
