Abstract
Un método para controlar la sedimentación y guiar el avance de material particulado sedimentado hacia sectores específicos dentro de la cubeta de relave dándole una mayor vida útil a un tranque de relave sin tener que elevar el muro principal, que comprende al menos una de las siguientes tareas: (a) instalar una o más barreras subacuáticas con geocontenedores al perímetro de la torre de bombeo o bombas; (b) instalar una o más barreras de protección en playa con geocontenedores; (c) construir una o más canalizaciones tipo meandro o regueros para manejo y direccionamiento del flujo de relave; (d) instalar tablaestacas para formar pantallas de detención de agua y sedimentación; y (e) construcción de parcelas o ecualizadores en la propia cubeta de relave y construcción de canales para guiar el avance del relave (6) en cada parcela o ecualizador.A method to control sedimentation and guide the progress of sedimented particulate material towards specific sectors within the tailings bucket giving a tailings dam a longer life without having to raise the main wall, which comprises at least one of the following tasks : (a) install one or more underwater barriers with geocontainers to the perimeter of the pump tower or pumps; (b) install one or more beach protection barriers with geocontainers; (c) build one or more meander pipes or streams for handling and addressing the tailings flow; (d) install stacking boards to form water and sedimentation stop screens; and (e) construction of plots or equalizers in the tailings bucket itself and channel construction to guide the progress of the tailings (6) in each plot or equalizer.
