Abstract

Electric timepiece, in particular quartz timepiece, having a support body (2) for the bearing of the pointer mechanism and for mounting a single-phase stepping motor. The latter consists of a permanent magnet armature (8) and a plastic stator with an excitation winding (6) and two auxiliary poles, which are opposite one another radially and offset relative to the exciting field direction. The two auxiliary poles (16, 17) are constructed in the shape of a rectangle and are connected at one end via a web (18) to a U-shaped element (19) into which the stator can be inserted. The support body (2) has a receptacle (26, 27) for fixing the free ends of the auxiliary poles and the stator part adjacent thereto to one another, as well as latching means (34, 35) for fixing the parts (19) on the support body (2). In this timepiece, mounting the motor and installing it into the timepiece mechanism are particularly simple, with the result that this work can be carried out by untrained workers or even by automatic machines. <IMAGE>
