Abstract
The swirl device is used in a burner in which the liquid fuel is atomised at high pressure by a spray nozzle (11) in the form of a whirling jet. It comprises a diffuser comprising a turbine (13), the rotor of which is driven, in the opposite direction to that of the particles of fuel, by a part of the fluid mixture formed in a first chamber (14) so that the different flows passing through the turbine (13) interpenetrate in a second chamber (15) where the combustion takes place, forming a perfectly homogeneous mixture. The device makes it possible to make burners function at powers close to 8000 Kcal/h with high calorific efficiency without loss or waste. <IMAGE>
