Abstract
The pointer, for incorporation in measuring instruments such as e.g. tachometers, speedometers etc., is manufactured in one piece and comprises a vane (2), a central round section with a hole (4) to fit the pointer onto a shaft and a section (3) to counterbalance the vane. The counterbalancing section (3) is so designed that a weight can be inserted in a central aperture and held in place. The weight is pref. a metal ball, which is held by segments (6) on the underside of the section, which have a springing action on the ball (7) which projects from the top of the section. Alternatively, the metal ball may be fitted into a cylindrical sleeve under the counterbalancing section.
