Description

Article comprising two cover elements and sheets bound together The present invention relates to an article comprising two cover elements and sheets bound together and provided with at least one automatic bookmark.

This article is characterized by the fact that said automatic bookmark is constituted by a separator member having the general shape of a V, the ends of the wings of which are fixed inside the cover elements, while its wings cross the bound sheets. by notches.

formed in them and whose depth is sufficient to allow the leaves to turn when said article is open and its two cover elements located approximately in the same plane, but insufficient to allow the passage of this V when the The article is closed and its two cover elements parallel to each other.

The appended drawing illustrates, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the article according to the invention.

Fig. 1 is a view of a diary in the open position and provided with the automatic bookmark.

Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the diary in the half-open position.

According to the appended drawing, the article consisting of a diary comprises two rigid or semi-rigid cover elements 1 and sheets or pages 2. These cover elements as well as these sheets 2 have along one of their edges perforations 3 in which are engaged loops 4 connecting these elements 1 and these sheets 2 together.

An automatic bookmark 5 having the general shape of a V passes through the sheets 2 by notches 6. The ends of the wings of the bookmark are fixed inside the cover elements. To this end, these wings each comprise an extension 7 which is glued or fixed in any other way on the internal face of one of the elements 1.

The notches 6 have a sufficient depth to allow the sheets 2 to be turned, as shown in FIG. 1, when the diary is in the open position and its cover elements are located at least approximately in the same plane. It should be noted that for this position of the cover elements, the wings of the automatic bookmark form between them a relatively large angle b, that is to say about 900.

On the other hand, the depth of the notches is insufficient to allow the passage of the bookmark 5 when the diary is closed and its elements 1 are parallel to one another. As represented by fig. 2, the angle formed between the two wings of the bookmark decreases when the diary is closed, so that the distance c between the rings 4 and the edge d of the bookmark increases as the calendar is closed. 'agenda.

Consequently, this bookmark is inserted between the two sheets last consulted when the diary was open, so that, when the reader resumes his diary, it opens automatically at the location of these two consulted sheets. previously.

In order to facilitate the opening and closing movements of the V forming the bookmark, the end of each wing is connected to its extension 7 by a connecting section 8 articulated by two folds 9, on the one hand, on said wing and , on the other hand, on the said extension.

Although this automatic bookmark is particularly advantageous for diaries since it causes the automatic opening of the latter on the correct date, it can also be fitted to other articles comprising two cover elements and sheets bound together by a binding device. any known, by stitching, stapling or any other binding means.

It is clear that the bookmark described and which is constituted by a V-shaped separator member can be provided in any desired material, paper, synthetic material, metal, and that the fixing of the ends of its wings on the cover elements 1 can be achieved by gluing, welding, riveting, stapling or other known fixing method. In addition, this bookmark can be arranged as shown in the drawing at an equal distance from the upper and lower edges of the diary,

either close to one of the lower or upper edges. It is clear that a diary or other article comprising two cover elements and pages bound together could be provided with several bookmarks such as the one described above with reference to the drawing and distributed along the back of the cover. agenda.
