Description
Device for heating running water. The object of the present invention is a device for heating running water consisting of a tank inside which is placed an electric heating body, the tank comprising at one of its ends, a pipe for the outlet of the water. 'water, the other end comprising, for the water inlet, a pipe which can be connected to a water pipe.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a general view in elevation ; Fig. 2 is a view of the heating body; Fig. 3 is a view of the heating body, along a section rx-b of FIG. 2.
The device shown is constituted by a reservoir 1 comprising at its upper part a pipe 2 serving for the outlet of the water, further comprising at its lower part a pipe 3 connected to a water pipe by means of 'a tap 4, the latter being used to obtain or suppress the flow of water through the pipe 2, inside the tank 1 is housed the heating body 5 (fig. 2) consisting of two metal plates 6 and 7, one of which is connected to a terminal 8, the other to a terminal 9, the latter two being fixed to the cover 10. The terminals 8 and 9 are respectively connected to the conductors of electrical energy 11 and 12 ( fig. 1).
The cover 10 internally has a thread enabling it to be screwed onto the upper end of the reservoir comprising a similar thread.
The metal plates 6 and 7 are curved so as to take a tubular shape and are held at each end by a washer, respectively 13 and 14, by simply fitting into a circular groove 15.
The operation of the heating body is as follows. The electric current, for example, arrives by terminal 9, at the metal plate 7 from where, through the water that it heats, it enters the plate 6 and leaves by the terminal 8. In order to avoid internal oxidation of the tank, the latter may be made of a material which is difficult to oxidize in water, for example duraluminum.
To operate the device according to the invention, installed in a running water pipe, it suffices to connect the wires 11 and 12 to an electrical outlet, and to put the valve 4 in its open position, and running water is heated in tank 1 before exiting through pipe 2.
