Description
Element of parquet. The present invention relates to a parquet element, for example a parquet strip.
This element is characterized in that it comprises, in its thickness, several parallel layers of wood of different species, superimposed and integral with one another. At least one of these layers can be solid wood and another one of plywood.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, a parquet strip conforming to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of this lamella, and fig. 2 is a cross section. The slat shown is composed (Pune part 10 generally in hard wood, for example oak, this part being placed on the working side of the slat, and a part 11 </ B> in plywood, for example in okumé, placed on the other side of the strip.
The parts are made integral with one another by any process (gluing, etc.). They have their faces of parallel contact, so that the woolen comprises parallel layers of wood of different species.
The strip has, like ordinary strips, grooves 12 for its seating with the neighboring elements of the parquet. The part 10 can, for example, be 8 to 10 mm thick and form approximately the '/ 5 of the strip, the 1/6 remaining being formed by the piece II in three equal parts plywood. The room 11, instead of being entirely in wood of the same species, could be partly fir cry and partly okumé for example.
For this purpose, the outer sheet of the plywood can be made of fir, so that the element is composed of three layers of wood of different species.
The parquet element, object of the invention, has the following advantages resulting from its structure in several layers: 1. It is more stable than the known elements, from the point of view of expansion and contraction as a result of temperature or humidity differences either of the air or of the material on which it is placed, for example slag or the like.
2. The element does not veil to in the long run, this which avoids a rectification by planing of the floors once they have been installed and allows the elements to be manufactured. in advance. In addition, rectified floors have elements thinned in places, elements which flex under load and which therefore risk causing squeaking.
3. The element is lighter than the one made entirely of hardwood.
4. It is less conductive of sound, owing to its heterogeneous structure, than the element in one piece.
5. In the event of localized wear, the upper layer alone of the element is to replaced, which considerably simplifies the work.
