Abstract

The invention relates to a support (2) bearing a pre-cut adapter (6) which is equipped with a cavity (16) that can receive a chip card (4). The inventive support (2) also bears the chip card (4). According to the support use method, the pre-cut adapter (6) is separated from the support (2), the chip card (4) is separated from the support (2) and the chip card (4) is inserted into the cavity of the adapter (6). The card (4) is then, for example, inserted between two narrow arms (24) of the adapter (6), which help define the cavity (16) and which extend over at least a large part of the length of the card (4).
