Abstract
Les procédés selon l'invention tirent parti du mouvement des ions dépendant du rapport masse-charge dans des pièges à ions électrodynamiques en synergie avec un processus d'affaiblissement de la charge. Dans un piège à ions électrodynamique, chaque rapport masse-charge est caractérisé par un ensemble unique de fréquences de mouvement. Par conséquent le fait de d'adapter spécifiquement le potentiel électrique variant dans le temps du piège à ions, permet de contrôler les ions qui sont autorisés à traverser ou ceux qui sont retenus dans le piège à ions et les ions qui vont être soumis à des réactions d'affaiblissement de la charge. Le contrôle de la rétention des ions et de l'affaiblissement de la charge sert à améliorer la vitesse de traitement des échantillons, la discrimination de la plage dynamique des masses et du signal dans la spectrométrie de masse d'ions à charges multiples.
