Abstract
L'invention concerne un ensemble cathéter conçu pour accéder au système de circulation du fluide céphalorachidien et pour drainer un fluide de celui-ci. Le cathéter polymère à paroi mince présente une zone distale molle et souple permettant de réduire au minimum le traumatisme provoqué dans les tissus, et d'accéder de manière coudée à l'espace sous-arachnoïdien de la voie du fluide céphalorachidien au moyen d'un fil-guide facultatif. Une zone proximale plus rigide, pouvant contenir éventuellement une tresse tissée ou un enroulement de renfort, permet d'assurer que le cathéter ne se tortille ou ne se comprime pas à l'utilisation dans les membranes dures situées autour de la colonne vertébrale. Un ou plusieurs orifices situés dans la paroi de cathéter, servant à drainer le fluide de manière proximale par la lumière centrale du cathéter, assure(nt) le transport du fluide à travers le cathéter à des débits et des pressions thérapeutiques. Un bouchon polymère mou, qui peut être placé à l'extrémité distale de l'ensemble cathéter, garantit un traumatisme minimal des tissus lors de la pénétration. Tout le cathéter peut être revêtu à l'aide d'un revêtement hydrophile pour faciliter les déplacements à travers une aiguille facultative du type Touhy et les tissus, et peut être opaque aux rayonnements pour conférer une plus grande visibilité en fluoroscopie.
