Abstract

An air knife apparatus is disclosed for removing an airlaid article from a deposition cavity. The article is formed into an absorbent core for products such as a sanitary napkin, a diaper or the like. The knife apparatus comprises the control of a stream of compressed air to urge the airlaid article against transfer apparatus. The compressed air enters the apparatus at a pressure of between about 4 psi and 20 psi.
