Abstract
FORM-AL-FORM IS AN ASSEMBLY OF UNIQUE
INSTRUMENTS WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO UTILIZE
FULL 4' BY 8' STYROFOAM SHEETING CONNECTED AND
SEPARATED BY MEANS OF PLASTIC TIE RODS TO
PRODUCE AN EXTREMELY EFFICIENT MEANS FOR
FORMING CONCRETE.
THIS MODERN METHOD OF FORMING CONCRETE
ENABLES THE FORMS TO REMAIN AS PART OF THE
STRUCTURE ONCE THE CONCRETE HAS DRIED AND THUS
THE STYROFOAM BECOMES AN INSULATING FACTOR
SURROUNDING THE CONCRETE STRUCTURE.
THE MOST SIGNIFICANT FEATURE ABOUT FORM-AL-FORM IS THAT IT ENABLES THE USE OF FULL SIZE 4' BY 8', OR LARGER, SHEETS OF STYROFOAM TO BE USED, WITHOUT CUTTING, TO CONSTRUCT THE CONCRETE
FORMS.
IJNLIKE ANY FORMING SYSTEM PRESENTLY KNOWN IN
EXISTENCE, FORM-AL-FORM'S USE OF FULL 4' BY 8' STYROFOAM SHEETING REDUCES CONSTRUCTION TIME
TREMENDOUSLY.

SPECIFICATION
THIS INVENTIQN RELATES TO A MANUALLY
CONSTRUCTED SYSTEM FOR FORMING CONCRETE.
IT IS COI~MON FOR SYSTEMS WHICH UTILIZE
STYROFOAM SHEETING IN CONSTRUCTING CONCRETE
FORMS~ TO BE UNABLE TO UTILIZE LAR~iE SHEETS OF
STYROFOAM BECAUSE OF THE FACTOR WHICH PREVENTS
THE CC)~NECTION OF THESE LARGE SHEETS C~UE TO A
LACK OF ANY PRODUCT AND METHOD.
I HAVE FOUND THAT THE CONCRETE FORMIN~i METHODS PRESENTLY AVAILABLE MAKE IT ~ANDATORY
TO USE ~ ~ INCH WIDE STRIPS OF STYROFOAM OR
STYROFOAM BLOCKS, MAKING THESE METHODS OF FORM
CONSTRUCTION VE RY LABOR INTENSIVE.
BY UTIL171N~i FOR~AL-FORM'S UNIOUE PLASTIC
TIES~ LAR~3E 4' BY ~' SHEETS OF STYROFOAM ARE ABLE
TO BE USED AS THE FORMING PANEL THUS CONTAINING
THE NEWLY POURED CONCRETE, AND SO PRODUCING A
VERY FAST AND EFFICIENT MEANS OF CONSTRU~TING A
CONCRETE FORM.
IN DRAWINGS WHICH ILLUSTRATE EMBOC)IMENTS OF
THE INVENTION, SEGMENT OF FORM-AL-FORM AS IT CONTAINS POURED
CONCRETE.

STYROFOAM TO PRODUCE A PE RMANENT CONCRETE
FORM.

SHEETS OF STYROFOAM, THE MEANS OF FASTENING THE
END CAP IS ALSO PROPOSED TO BE A THREhDED NUT ON
~1~83~3 ~OLT TVPE SYSTEM.
FULL SIZE 4' BY ~' FOR~AL-FORM? COMPLETE WITH
TWENTY-ONE FOR~AL-FORM PLASTIC TIES ANl:) TWO 4' BY~' STYROFOA~ISHEETS.

SEAMS WHERE TWO SEPARATE FORM STRUCTURES ARE
CONNECTED.
PLASTIC CORNE R CONNECTOR TIE WHICH IS USED FOR
JOINING TWO SEPARATE FORMS AT A ~0 ~)E~iREE ANGLE.
OTHER CORNER CONNECTORS IN VARIOUS DEGREED
ANGLES ARE OPTIONAL.
~ETHOD
A~ THE FORMS ARE CONSTRUCTED IN 4' BY 8' SECTIONS.
B) THE CORNERS ARE CONSTRUCTED SEPERATELY.
