Abstract

"FIBRA CONDUTORA DE LUZ, E MéTODO DE PRODUZIR A MESMA". Fibras condutoras de luz (10) que compreendem: (a) um núcleo polimérico alongado (12) que possui uma extremidade de entrada (20) para receber luz a partir de uma fonte luminosa, uma extremidade de saída (23) para emitir a luz transmitida através do núcleo (12), e uma superfície lateral que se estende ao longo de um eixo longitudinal do núcleo (12) entre a extremidade de entrada (20) e a extremidade de saída (23); (b) uma região emissora de luz (26) que direciona a luz que se desloca através da fibra condutora de luz (10) para fora de pelo menos uma parte da superfície lateral da fibra condutora de luz (10) numa direção geralmente transversal ao eixo longitudinal (11), a região emissora de luz (26) compreendendo pelo menos um elemento óptico (16); e (c) uma camada de cobertura externa contínua (14) que compreende um material polimérico que possui um índice de refração menor que o núcleo que se estende sobre a superfície lateral do núcleo (12) e os elementos ópticos (16).
