Um processo para fabricar um intermediário de <244>-halohidrina e uma resina epóxi preparada a partir dele incluindo epoxidar um intermediário de <244>-halohidrina produzido a partir de substituição-desesterificação in situ de um derivado <244>-hidróxi éster que foi obtido pela reação de acoplamento de um fenol ou de uma mistura de fenóis e um glicidil éster opcionalmente na presença de um catalisador.
