Abstract

This method is intended for use in clinical laboratories. It avoids the artificial blood dilation and no changes in the activity of the natural plasma and erythrocyte factors that may influence the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (velocity of settling erythrocytes) take place. The natural erythrocyte sedimentation rate is determined by anti-coagulation treatment of venous blood sample with a Complexon III solution, without dilution with trisodium citrate and the result is read in millimetres after the elapse of one hour.
