Abstract

Appts. for placing fruits/vegetables having a peduncle, i.e. a stem or stalk, supporting a flower or fruit, in a correct position before supplying to a peduncles cutting machine, has an endless transporter formed by pairs of rollers which turn in the same direction, and have parallel axes, and upper walls oriented transversely relative to the displacement direction of the rollers. One of the rollers has peripheral channels, and a radial blade and the other has a hyperboloid shape, or is provided with channels on its surface. The fruit from the feed device becomes situated between two rollers of each pair, and is prevented from passing from one zone to the following by the walls which separate each pair of rollers from the following pair. Thus, the fruit deposited between two rollers turns in contact with the rollers, until the peduncle of the fruit is placed between the rollers and the blade of one of the rollers, becomes situated in a vertical position between the two rollers, the fruit finally resting on the exterior surface f the two rollers.
