Abstract

The process comprises treating fatty acids contg. -CH=CH-CH2-CH=CH- gps. and/or resin acids with =5 wt.% S and/or =0.4 wt.% I2, at 180-250 degrees C. Esp. for prodn. of emulsifiers from Finnish tall-oil resins, when the smell and colour of the starting material are also removed.
