Description

P/00/012 Regulation 3.2
AUSTRALIA
Patents Act 1990
ORIGINAL
COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT Invention Title: "VEHICLE WHEEL WITH GENERATOR" The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me/us: TITLE: VEHICLE WHEEL WITH GENERATOR Background of the Invention Field of the Invention This invention relates to a vehicle wheel with generator, and more particular to a vehicle designed to generate electricity power through the rolling of the wheel.
Description of the Prior Art There are various types of recreational vehicles, such as skateboards, tricycles or bicycles for fun or convenience of short distance travel. Some of the vehicles are equipped with a generator to generate electricity for illumination purpose.
However, this generator can provide only to some illumination parts, and is not able to provide other devices which requires electricity to operate, this design is not attractive.
A modernized design was invented, which is equipped with many auxiliaries, such as horns, lights, etc., however, these also require many wires.
In view of these shortcomings, a new product is developed, which saves packing and simplifies installation.
Summary of the Invention It is the primary object of the present invention to provide a vehicle wheel with generator to provide auxiliary power supply to the vehicle, which vehicle may be a bicycle, a scooter, a tricycle, a shopping cart, an electrical powered bicycle, an
I
exercise bicycle, a skateboard, or other vehicles, which vehicle requires wheels to move, and the improvements comprising a magnetic ring provided on one side of the wheel and a generator having an inductive coil therein fixed on a wheel axle.
By rolling the wheel, the magnetic ring rotates simultaneously with respect to the inductive coil, which produces electric power, and then is transferred by a positive wire and a negative wire to the battery or to a load.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a vehicle wheel with generator, which is cost effectiveness to produce.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a vehicle wheel with generator, which is easy to operate and saves battery life.
Brief Description of the Drawings FIG. 1 is a front view of a vehicle incorporated with the present invention; FIG.2 is a first embodiment of an enlarged front sectional view of the wheel incorporated with present invention; and FIG. 3 is a second embodiment of an enlarged sectional front view of he wheel incorporated with present invention.
Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiments A vehicle wheel with generator of the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, is mounted on an axle 13 of a vehicle frame 1, by rolling the wheels 11 and 12 to generate electric power, wherein the vehicle frame 1 may be a bicycle, a scooter, a tricycle, a shopping cart, an electric bicycle, an exercise bicycle or a skateboard, such vehicles with rolling wheels. When it refers to a bicycle, a traditional scrubbing light is used.
The vehicle frame 1 has a load i4 (or connects to a battery and then to the load 14), the load 14 which may be in any forms such as diodes, or a sounding equipment powered by electricity. The design is not limited to any particular shape or device. In this case, illuminating diodes are adopted as the load 14, which has a pair of feet 141 and 142 connected to a generator 3, shafts 111 and 112 of the wheel 11 are made of plastic material with an isolating sleeve 1111 extending from one side of the shaft 111 for a magnetic ring 2 to sleeve thereon.
The generator 3 has an inductive coil 31 with a positive wire 311 and a negative wire 312 extending from two ends thereof, and a barrel 32 extending outwardly.
To assemble, the generator 3 is fixed onto the axle 13 of the wheels 11 and 12 by the barrel 32, whereas the magnetic ring 2 on the wheel 11 will extend into the inductive coil 31 of the generator 3, thus when rolling the wheels 11 and 12, the magnetic ring 2 sleeved on the sleeve 1111 will rotate in the inductive coil 31, which produces electricity and is transformed through the positive and the negative wires 311 and 312 to the two feet 141 and 142 of the load 14(or to the battery before connecting to the load 14.).
The present invention may be applied on a vehicle body 4 (for example a scooter or a skateboard), as shown in FIG. 3, wherein the generator 3 is slid onto a shaft 42 of a wheel 41, and the magnetic ring 2 is provided on a sleeve 4111 of a shaft 411 of the wheel 41. When rolling the wheel 41, the magnetic ring 2 on the sleeve 4111 simultaneously rotates in the inductive coil 31, the electricity produced thereafter is transferred through two feet 431 and 432 to a load 43 (or to the battery and then to the load 43), which produces the same effect.
Further, the wheels 11, 12, 41 and the generator 3 are all in set, when consumers purchases the product, all they have to do is to follow instruction to connect the feet 141, 142, 431, 431 of the load 14 to the positive wire 311 and the negative wire 312 of the generator 3, (or connects to the positive and negative poles of the battery, not drawn in these figures, and then to the positive wire 311 and the negative wire 312 of the generator which simplifies the assembly procedure and minimizes any wrong doing.
From the above, it is understood that the wheel generator of this invention may increase the fun of rolling, and it uses only a single set of electric generator to provide the battery or many other equipments, such as sounds and lights, etc.

Claims (1)

1. A vehicle wheel with generator comprising a wheel, an axle, a magnetic ring, and a generator, wherein said magnetic ring being secured on one side of said wheel, and said generator being secured on said axle, said generator comprising an inductive coil on a shaft of said wheel corresponding to said magnetic ring, by rolling said wheel, said inductive coil spinning and producing electric power, said inductive coil having extending a positive wire and a negative wire, which transfers the electric power producing from said generator to load.
