Abstract

1. Spring strip for a slatted grid for articles of furniture used for sitting or lying on, which strip comprises a plurality of wood veneer layers laid with their grain in the same direction, and, arranged between these, at least one layer of thermosetting synthetic plastic material resistant to tensile stress, these layers being glued and pressed together, the spring strip being given improved surface quality by curable synthetic resin films and optionally varnishing, characterised in that a) the layer of thermosetting synthetic plastic material (D) is made resistant to shear and tension at least in the transverse direction of the wood veneer layers, b) the layer of thermosetting synthetic plastic material (D) is arranged on, or in the vicinity of, the neutral fiber of the wood veneer layers, c) the layer of thermosetting synthetic plastic material (D) is impervious to moisture.
