Abstract
The resistive element (4) comprises a substrate (14) which has a resistive layer (16) fixed to it, partially covered by a conducting layer (20) to provide an electrical contact between two terminals. The substrate is made from a material with a thermal and electrical conductivity and surface state comparable with that of glass. Preferred Features: The resistive layer, which can be of silicon, is deposited on the substrate (14) by photolithography in a vacuum. The resistive element is connected to the current feed terminals by a solder or via a printed circuit.
