Abstract

Apparatus for the vacuum sealing of cans (7, 7'), comprising a cover (8, 8'), the apparatus having a plate (13, 33) which can be moved upwards by means of a lifting device towards a fixed evacuatable bell (14, 36) and which serves to receive a can (7, 7') already provided with a loosely mounted cover (8, 8'), there being provided a device for lifting the cover (8, 8') clear of the can (7, 7'), characterised in that the device for lifting the cover (8, 8') clear of the can (7, 7') comprises an adjusting piston (20) which can be subjected to a pressure medium and which is guided in an adjusting cylinder (18), and that reducers or reducing adapters (52, 53), which are adapted to different can sizes, can be detachably fitted or fixed on this adjusting piston (20), on the one hand, and on the inner wall of the bell (14), on the other hand.
