K u n ststo in.

The subject of the invention is an artificial stone made of Portland cement and sawdust, to which chloromagnesia and tar are added in order to prevent shrinkage cracks and to obtain a tough, elastic body for paving and building purposes. The use of chloromagnesia as an additive to Portland cement and artificial stone masses made from wood and chloromagnesia cement are already known, but these chloromagnesia cements become dusty and are therefore quickly used as paving stones. It is also known to add tar to cement or artificial stone masses containing magnesium chloride, but not all of the substances mentioned have hitherto been used together.
According to the invention, large amounts of chloromagnesia and small amounts of tar are added to Portland cement and sawdust. So you can add approximately equal parts Portland cement and sawdust about 30% Clormagnesialauge in a ratio of about 1: f) of the cement-sawdust mixture and an addition of tar corresponding to a maximum of 5% of the total mass. As tests have shown, the stone obtained has an increase in compressive and tensile strength with a simultaneous reduction in permeability and water absorption capacity.
