or a similar division of the friction lining in connection with the recesses of the opposing friction surface, there is also a continuous change in the specific surface pressure on the lining between a maximum and a minimum value, which makes it more difficult for a friction vibration to occur. The occurrence of frictional vibration can be combated particularly effectively in that the number of friction lining segments 4 and the number of recesses 5a and 5b are selected differently and the division of these segments or recesses is also designed differently.

In the example according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the friction lining segments are arranged symmetrically in a six-pitch division, while the recesses 5a and 5b are provided in five-division.

Another embodiment is shown in FIGS. 4, 5 and 6; Here the clutch disc 7 is provided with three segments 8 carrying the friction lining, while the pressure plate 5 has recessed recesses 9 and 10 which result in an approximately square friction surface 11. This arrangement also achieves a permanent change in the applied friction lining and a change in the specific surface pressure on the lining in the same way as in the example shown.

In practice it has been shown that it is usually sufficient to have a counter friction surface, e.g. B. to provide the friction surface on the clutch pressure plate with such deeper recesses according to the invention, while the other friction surface, so that in the engine flywheel, can be equipped in the usual way. Furthermore, it has been shown that the reduction in the size of the counter-friction surface does not result in any significant increase in the wear on the friction linings.

The production of the inventive design of the friction surface can be carried out easily and practically at no cost, since the deeper recesses can already be cast in, so that additional processing is not necessary.

    PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Formation of the friction surfaces on clutches or disc brakes predominantly provided with metallic or ceramic friction linings, especially for motor vehicles, consisting of a friction disc with segments adjoining its periphery which are provided with friction linings, preferably made of metallic or ceramic material, characterized in that, that at least one of the opposing friction surfaces intended for contact with the friction surfaces (4) of the segments (3), e.g. B. flywheel (5) or clutch pressure plate (6), recesses (5a or 5b) and the effect of the constant change of the applied lining friction surfaces thus brings about the change in the specific surface pressure.
