Se proveen cidos nucleicos, y sus variantes y fragmentos, obtenidos de cepas de Bacillus thuringiensis que codifican polipeptidos con actividad pesticida contra plagas de insectos, incluso Lepidoptera. Entre otros se proveen cidos nucleicos aislados que codifican prote¡nas pesticidas, composiciones pesticidas, construcciones de ADN, y microorganismos y plantas transformadas que comprenden un cido nucleico de las formas de realizacion. Estas composiciones se usan en metodos para el control de plagas, especialmente plagas vegetales.
