Abstract

Un proceso para la preparacion de N-metil-N-(2-[4-hidroxifenil]etil)-5-hidroxi-4-metoxibencencarboxamida, que es de utilidad como un intermediario en la síntesis de (-)-galantamina, que comprende la reaccion de un derivado de ácido 5-hidroxi-4-metoxibenzoico con N-metil-N-(2-[4-hidroxifenil]etil)amina. Reivindicacion 1: Un proceso para la preparacion de un compuesto de la formula (1) en donde Z es un grupo de bloqueo, caracterizado porque comprende: 1) activar un compuesto de la formula(2) en donde Z es como se definio con anterioridad, con un agente de acoplamiento para dar un compuesto activado de la formula (3) en donde X es un grupo saliente resultante del uso del agente de acoplamiento, y 2) acoplar el compuesto activado dela formula (3) con un compuesto N-metil-N-(2-[4-hidroxifenil]etil)amina de formula (4) o una sal ácida del compuesto de formula (4) para dar el compuesto de la formula 1.
