Abstract
Un dispositivo de comunicacion movil que puede recibir senales de difusion inalámbricas de un numero de estaciones base o transmisores diferentes. Como la ubicacion del dispositivo se mueve con relacion a los trasmisores, un trasmisor probablemente será identificado como el transmision que difunde la senal más fuerte, o de calidad más alta. Cuando se realiza esa determinacion, el usuario del dispositivo movil se le presenta la oportunidad de conmutar para recibir esa senal del transmisor. Basado en la respuesta del usuario, el dispositivo puede permanecer con el transmisor actual, aun cuando no tiene la senal más fuerte, o el dispositivo puede estar configurado para adquirir y comenzar a recibir l a nueva senal del transmisor. La medicion de la calidad de una senal del transmisor se puede basar en un puntaje compuesto que combina un numero de mediciones individuales realizados durante un período de tiempo predeterminado.
