Abstract

Un cuerpo cerámico Mg-PSZ y método para hacer el mismo. El cuerpo cerámico está formado de una composicion cerámica que contiene2,8% a 5,0% en peso de MgO,una cantidad efectiva de un material inhibidor el crecimiento del grano, y el balance está hecho esencialmente con circonia. La microestructura cristalina delcuerpo cerámico comprende granos de circonia cubica que tienen un tamano promedio de grano menos de alrededor de 30 micrones en la mayor dimension, 0,1 a 8,7%en volumen de partículas discretas del material inhibidor del crecimiento de grano y precipitados de circonia tetragonal, que tienen una forma sustancialmenteelipsoide con una dimension longitudinal de alrededor de 0,1 a 0,4 micrones. El método incluye mezclar polvo de circonia,polvo de magnesio y material inhibidorde crecimiento de grano para formar una mezcla de polvo homogénea por consolidar la mezcla de polvo homogénea para formar un cuerpo verde. El cuerpo verde essintetizado a una temperatura en el rango de 1600sC a1850sC por un tiempo suficiente para formar una fase de circonia cubica policristalina y partículas dematerial inhibidor de crecimiento de grano.
