Abstract

Alternativt helles en smelte av en overeutektisk aluminiumlegering, med en sammensetning på eller over grensene for maksimal oppløselighet, i en barreform ved en temperatur over liquiduslinjen, men ikke mere enn 30oC høyere, og smelten avkjøles med en avkjølingshastighet på i det minste loC/sek. i størkneområdet for dannelse av en barre, hvoretter barren oppvarmes til over det eutektiske punktet, idet oppholdstiden og temperaturen velges slik at innholdet av flytende fase l innstilles på mellom 20 og 80%, og primærkrystallene j sfæroidiseres, hvoretter den halvfaste barren innføres i en i form og formes under trykk. Med denne fremgangsmåten kan slike lettmetaller som magnesium- og aluminiumlegeringer formes under trykk på en enkel og hensiktsmessig måte.
