The locking lugs are designed and secured so that they can activate equipment that is passed by the tool when the locking lugs are in their outer position. The tool can be retracted without any equipment in the well being affected, and the locking latch can be turned 180 ° to deactivate equipment as the tool moves through the well in the opposite direction.
