Abstract

The shock absorber has a tubular member (69, 70) with two relatively movable elements, the space between the elements being filled with hydraulic fluid which flows out of the space via a throttle (82, 85 or 80, 74) when the elements move together. One of the elements consists of a pin (78, 75) the other element comprising a bush. (84, 73) into which one end of the pin enters when approaching the end of the relative movement towards each other. At a distance from the bush the other element further comprises a plate (81, 79) which is provided with a bore (82, 80) through which the pin extends, the arrangement being such that the clearance between pin and bore diminishes as the pin moves towards the bush.
