Abstract
Poultry is blanched and plucked after hanging, stunning and killing in a process whereby blanching and plucking are carried out simultaneously. The process is pref. carried out on a conveyor system with associated blanching and plucking units; blanching is accomplished by known processes such as spraying, steaming, immersion, hot air circulation, etc. Process gives economic advantages and time saving over processes using separate blanching with subsequent plucking.
