Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to rolling paper for rolling a tapered filter tip for a cigarette. Said rolling paper is used for different types of cigarettes, in particular for cigarettes comprising cannabis.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The invention is based on the insight that there is a need to improve the production of assemblies comprising a tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper and a tapered filter tip. Said assemblies are used to produce cigarettes by filling the inside of the tapered hollow cylinders with a smokable substance, such as tobacco and/or cannabis.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The invention has the objective to provide an improved (or at least alternative) rolling paper for rolling a tapered filter tip for a cigarette. Said rolling paper comprises:
- a flat paper body comprising an upper edge, a lower edge, a first side edge, and a second side edge, wherein the upper edge is positioned opposite to the lower edge, and the first side edge is positioned opposite to the second side edge, and
- at least one folding line extending transversely to the upper edge and the lower edge and located closer to the second side edge than the first side edge, wherein;
-- the upper edge is larger than the lower edge,
-- the upper edge comprises an upper curved part,
- the upper edge transitions into the first side edge at an upper corner,
-- the lower edge comprises a lower curved part,
-- the lower edge transitions into the first side edge at a lower corner, and
-- at least one of the lower corner and the upper corner is a rounded corner.
In a tapered filter tip formed by said rolling paper, the paper body is folded along the at least one folding line to form a folded part of the paper body, and a remaining body part of the paper body is rolled around the folded part in a spiral configuration with the first side edge, the lower corner and the upper corner being located at an outer side of the tapered filter tip.
Due to the fact that at least one of the lower corner and the upper corner is a rounded corner, the risk is reduced that the lower corner and/or the upper corner will damage a tapered hollow
-2cylinder made of cigarette paper when the tapered filter tip is moved inside said tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper.
This allows that assemblies comprising a tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper and the tapered filter tip can be produced according to the following method;
- placing the tapered filter tip in a wide opening of the tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper, and
- moving the filter tip inside the tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper from the wide opening into a position adjacent to an opposite narrow opening of said tapered hollow cylinder.
The tapered filter tip reduces the risk that the lower corner and/or the upper corner will damage the tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper when said method is used.
In addition, said method allows that the production of assemblies comprising the tapered hollow cylinder made of cigarette paper and the tapered filter tip can be automated, due to which the production time of said assemblies can be reduced.

Each of the folding lines 9 is straight and extends transversely, such as perpendicular, to the upper curved part 10 and the lower curved part 12. Third virtual lines 31 extending through the folding lines 9 also extends through the single centre point 24.
The folding lines 9 are formed by weakening lines 32 in the paper body 4. The weakening lines 32 are formed by discontinuous perforation 33 in the paper body 4. In other examples, the weakening lines 32 are formed by one or more incisions in the paper body 4.
The paper body 4 is made from a paper having a weight of about 135 gram/meter2. In other examples, the paper body 4 is made from a paper having a weight within the range of 95 175 gram/meter2, preferable within the range of 120 - 150 gram/meter2.
The figure 1C and 1D shows a tapered filter tip 2 made from the rolling paper 1 of figure 1A. The paper body 4 of said rolling paper 1 is folded along the folding lines 9 to form a folded part 34 of the paper body 4. A remaining body part 35 of the paper body 4 is rolled around the folded part 34 in a spiral configuration 36 with the first side edge 7, the lower corner 13 and
- 11 the upper corner 11 being located at an outer side 37 of the tapered filter tip 2. The spiral configuration 36 of the tapered filter tip 2 defines a longitudinal tip axis 38.
Due to the fact that the lower corner 13 and the upper corner 11 are a rounded corner 14, the risk is reduced that the lower corner 13 or the upper corner 11 will damage a tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 when the tapered filter tip 2 is moved inside said tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41.
The figures 1E-G show side view of a method for producing an assembly 42 comprising a tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 and the tapered filter tip 2 of figure 1C.

The method comprises placing the tapered filter tip 2 in a wide opening 43 of the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41, and moving the filter tip 2 inside the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 from the wide opening 43 into a position adjacent to an opposite narrow opening 44 of said tapered hollow cylinder 40.
In figure 1F, the tapered filter tip 2 is moving through the inside of the tapered hollow cylinder 40 towards the narrow opening 44.
The method comprises rotating the tapered filter tip 2 around the longitudinal tip axis 38 when moving the filter tip 2 inside the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41.
The method comprises rotating the tapered filter tip 2 in a same direction as the spiral configuration 36 is rolled. The rotation direction of the spiral configuration 36 is indicated by rotation arrow 46. The rotation direction of the tapered filter tip 2 is indicated by rotation arrow 47.
The method comprises moving the tapered filter tip 2 inside the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 while keeping the lower edge 6 of the filter tip 2 directed to the narrow opening 44 of said tapered hollow cylinder 40.
In figure 1G, the tapered filter tip 2 has reached the position adjacent to the narrow opening 44 and inside the tapered hollow cylinder 40.
- 12The result of the method is an assembly 42 comprising the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 and the tapered filter tip 2, wherein the tapered filter tip 2 is located inside the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41. The tapered filter tip 2 is located in a position adjacent to the narrow opening 44 of said tapered hollow cylinder 40.
The rounded corners 14 of the tapered filter tip 2 reduce the risk that the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 is damaged when the method is used.
In addition, said method allows that the production of assemblies 42 comprising the tapered hollow cylinder 40 made of cigarette paper 41 and the tapered filter tip 2 can be automated, due to which the production time of said assemblies 42 can be reduced.
