THE USE IS DISCLOSED OF ONE OR MORE OF (A) A POLYQUATERNARY COMPOUND,(B) A THICKENING AGENT OR DISPERSING AGENT,(C) A NONIONIC SURFACTANT HAVING FROM 3 TO 12 ALKYLENE OXIDE, PREFERABLY ETHYLENE OXIDE, UNITS,(D) A SIMPLE QUARTENARY COMPOUND IN AN AMOUNT AT LEAST EQUAL TO THE AMOUNT OF ISOTHIAZOLONE IN THE SOLUTION.TO PREVENT STRIPPING OF ISOTHIAZOLONE IN AN ISOTHIAZOLONE-CONTAINING SOLUTION USED AS AN ANTI-SAPSTAIN AGENT IN WOOD TREATMENT, WHERE THE SOLUTION IS RECURRENTLY CONTACTED WITH WOOD.
