Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a fastening arm for an external car mirror with an integrated swivel joint capable of snapping in at least one position.
Background of the Invention
A mirror arm mechanism of this type is already known from EP 0 641 686 A2. With the rotating joint shown there, the different snap-fit elements which are subjected to the force of a helical thread spring in the direction of engagement of the snap mechanism. The modalities shown therein have in common that different wedge surfaces acting radially, which engage rings or segmented ring elements seated relative to each other in a relatively complex manner. To this degree the known rotating joint is of a complicated design and its assembly is expensive. In addition to the known swivel joint, Rff.27907 especially with a mode in which different segments of the separate ring are used to form wedge surfaces of snap-in or snap-in, the snap-fit elements can interfere with each other. This could block the rotating joint which could no longer carry out its safety function, that is to say the turning back when the external mirror supported by the clamping arm hits an obstacle. However, today's modern mirror designs have only very short clamping arms, which extend directly in the horizontal direction from the car chassis to the mirror housing. A solution to this problem is already provided by the abovementioned EP 0 641 686 A2 patent, however with the disadvantages mentioned above. Based on the foregoing, the object of the invention is to present a clamping arm with a snap-fit pivoting joint, by which the two segments of the arm can be adjusted as before to each other, without displacement and while the articulation The rotating mechanism snaps into place and disconnects quickly, but also due to this the rotating mechanism or snap-fit mechanism is simpler and therefore easier to assemble and more compact. This object is achieved by means of the features indicated in claim 1. According to these characteristics, the fastening arm according to the invention is basically an arm that is continuous in at least the area of the rotating joint, whereby the The rotating shaft of the swivel joint formed between the two segments of the arm is at a right angle with respect to the longitudinal direction of the arm segments. The counter-pressure element under the pressure of the spring in the direction of engagement with the snap-in element is suspended according to the invention at the free end of a support strap made of a leaf spring which it is fixed by its fixed end to this segment of the corresponding arm. The leaf spring support brace ensures on the one hand that the pressure counterclock element is under the pressure of the spring, and on the other hand it provides an excursion route of the counterclockwise element when a segment of the arm is rotated relative to the other segment of the arm. Finally, the support brace also ensures the non-rotating retention of the pressure counter-locking element, so that the corresponding wedge and notch connections of the counter-lock element with its corresponding arm segment, when required in the state of the art , they can be omitted. Detailed description of the invention
In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the swivel joint designated by reference 1 in its entirety connects the two segments 2, 3 of the arm, of a support arm of an external truck mirror. The support brace 26 is in the form of a metal sheet pierced pierced externally, a part of the shaft of which is fixed by its fixed end 28 on the support block 27 by means of a fixing screw 29. The free end of the support brace 26 is made in one piece with the shaft 28 and is made in the shape of an anchoring ring 30, the contour of which essentially follows the contour of the snap ring 25 when viewed from above. The additional fixing screws 31 fix the snap ring 25 to the anchoring ring 30 of the support strut 26. Again, it should be briefly noted, in relation to the pressure closing device 21 ', that for example the extended position of the two segments 2, 3 of the arm, shown in Figures 2 and 3, is suspended when the torque is applied to the segment 3 of the arm because this torque is transmitted by means of the support brace 26 'to the counter-lock block 42. The latter is lifted out correspondingly with its side teeth 43 from the row of snap-in teeth 38 against the force of the spring by the support strut 26 'and the spiral pressure spring 49. As a result a rotary movement results until the side teeth 43 and the row of snap-in teeth 38 are coupled together with one or more teeth completely. Again it can be seen that the support strap 26 'ensures a mobility of the counter-lock block 42 which is independent of the arm segment 3, so that with the excursion movement of the snap-lock no change in the positions occurs of the two segments 2, 3 of the arm, with each other.
